Porn is wonderful. I, like so many other millions of people, happen to love porn. I'm not ashamed to admit it, and, if I had to stand up in front of a crowd, even here in my very conservative town, I'd say there are definite benefits.

That being said, it's hard for me to reconcile my love for porn with my fear for the safety of it's performers.

That's odd, and slightly wrong-headed.

I guess they come at me with knives out because they know the entire industry reads everything I post, and people love to hate me.

On the other hand, I think the performers are mad at me because I'm pointing out flaws they didn't think about when they got started. In hindsight, many of them probably wished they'd been a complete moron, like I've been, and stumbled around a bit more.

I'm glad I took the time to say stupid things, and get 'schooled'.

I'm not embarrassed at all.

The other reason I think many performers take me on is because they know directors and owners and investors and fans come here. Even though they know I'm on their side, it benefits them- in the short run- to tell me to go 'kill myself'.

I'm not a big fan of unions, as unions tend to get greedy and fat and lose sight of the real reason they exist.

But in this world, the world of porn, these people sure could use a union.

Every time she beats the crap out of me, Gen Padova gets props from the people she works for. You don't have to be a genius to figure that out.

On the other hand, privately, I'm sure that all the Gen Padova's and John Johnson's secretly hope that my rants will have an impact, so their jobs can be safer.

Of course, they aren't going to tell me that on this board, in front of their bosses.

But their bosses have something to fear, too.

It's called the 'American Class-Action Lawsuit'.

As far as I know, there is no precedent, or statute, set for safety measures in porn in the legal arena.

I don't think anyone's tried it yet.

The reason that the bosses should regulate themselves on these issues, the issues of drugs and STD's, is that they could find themselves in legal hot water years down the line if they don't.

I would hate to see that happen.

If I was running a porn company, I'd be the FIRST to implement Full Panel Tests. I'd also advertise it, right there on my lovely boxcover.

'NO PORN ANIMALS WERE HURT OR DESTROYED DURING THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO'...it might read.

Somewhere on the back cover, I'd put a little disclaimer on it, talking about how NONE of the performers in my video walked away with any diseases or drug addictions due to the shooting of the feature.

Then, I'd advertise myself as being a 'responsible' maker of porn.

Car companies, who once HATED the idea of AIRBAGS now use the inclusion of AIRBAGS as a SELLING POINT.

And guess what?

The public LOVES IT, and is now more prone to buy cars that are SAFE, than cars that are NOT SAFE.

Thus, given my logic, for a slight up-front investment, any given porn maker would eventually reap PROFITS from selling a SAFELY MADE PRODUCT.

The public, yes, even the porn public, pays attention to stuff like this.

If I had the option of buying a video that had my disclaimer on it, so I could watch my porn GUILT FREE...

...I would buy it in a heartbeat.

If, and when, porn makers adopt these ideas, porn will also enjoy a REVOLUTION, which would also be profitable.

Could you imagine how much America, and the world, would love a porn industry that takes care of it's performers?

If they'd stop yelling at me, and listen to what I'm saying, they'd see I'm not some jerk trying to bring people down.

I'm actually on their side.

I don't want to see porn makers get sued, and I don't want to see the lovely 18 year olds get hurt.

Is that so wrong?
