No, the worst part about Boystown is that they painted all the street poles in rainbows. Getting off the Belmont L stop, walking east to get to the Briar Street Theater (Blue Man Group), it was just another fucking world. The Manhole did exist, I heard it closed down. There was an apartment over the bar which was always for rent on the cheap in the local apartment guides...when a normal 2nd story walkup in Lincoln Park went for, oh $900-1,000/month, this little slice of butt pirate heaven went for like $450.

And how ironic that, While Halsted St. on the North Side is synonymous with Boystown, on the South Side, near the Will County line, it is synonymous with nudie bars and strip clubs. Sammura hitchhikes that direction down the Dan Ryan every night looking for her next john.
