I believe Gag Factor is an important cultural watermark. I truly do. After Gag Factor there's no going back. All of cinema and entertainment has been leading up to Gag Factor. As a visual metaphor, Gag Factor is brilliant. Consider: Cinema stardom is based on the closeup ("I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille."). To warrant close-ups means you've made it, you're a Star. And as Gag Factor has been honed and perfected, each scene builds up with a horrible inevitability to its close-up: the tightly shot, head-upsidedown portion. Brilliant! Stardom is inverted and shown up to be the exploitive sham it really is. Even more brilliant, each girl dutifully assumes the position, illustrating that all is for sale in pursuit of stardom, including basic dignity. At first, I thought the cretins at JM stumbled upon this by accident, because I was convinced that, like all pornographers, they are just heartless, moneygrubbing morons who pander to market forces. But several times Powers is heard in the background saying with sneering sarcasm to his starlets something to the effect of "This is going to make you a star, baby!" Obviously, there is a brilliant creative mind at work here. A true cinema transgressor. All pornography pales in comparison to Gag Factor. It is the series that has boiled the genre down to a whitehot, minimalist, irreducible paradigm. The awful truth stares back at us from those empty, upsidedown eyes. It is brilliant. It is important. It is reprehensible. It is wonderful. The world needs to know about it. The world at large. The mainstream must be made aware of the relevant red flag that Gag Factor is waving over their culture. Gag Factor is the mainstream. All you need to do is turn it upsidedown.
I am going to do everything within my power to make sure Gag Factor gets the recognition it deserves. I am going to contact news organizations. I'm going to contact cultural chronicalers like Camille Paglia and Gore Vidal. I'm going to contact politicians. I'm going to contact firebrands like Gloria Allred. I'm going to contact my neighbors. I shant rest until gagging, upsidedown female heads are known everywhere. All must know the truth!
