I fucking hate this show. Everything about it sucks, starting from Ray fucking Romano right down to the fact that it is so easy to make the joke "Not Everybody Loves Raymond", a joke which I'm about to make now: I don't like Raymond, I want to fucking gut him.
Everything about this show epitomizes the decay of humanity, and not even the fact that Peter Boyle was in Taxi Driver can give it any kind of saving grace.
The only possible benefit from watching a half hour of this retarded drivel is seeing Patricia Heaton's fake tits, and even that is only because I have a thing for ordinary looking women who play mums in bad American sitcoms.

My girlfriend loves it, so I'm forced to watch the reruns on TBS a lot. Don't love it, don't hate it. It's not any worse than 90% of the other programs on television.
There are two episodes that I found hysterical. The first is the one where Ray's mom takes a sculpting class and unwittingly makes a large sculpture that looks like a vagina and Ray's forced to display it in his living room. In the second one Ray's brother meets the perfect girl and invites her to dinner with the family. During dinner Ray sees her eat a fly. Later Ray's brother goes back to her apartment and sees that she worships frogs.

Heaton has had extensive Dr-90210-ing done. I'd say: not any worse than the models on MFHM? Plus she's like five-nothing. She yearns to have her wild streak tamed by a taller, dominant man.

No, I wouldn't put it quite so as Australians hate Americans. There is a section of Australians, mainly left leaning individuals, who dislike America's right wing political stance- same as how within America there is a similar sentiment felt by some people. So, maybe 50% of Australians hate American politics, but that doesn't mean we hate Americans.
Another reason why you might notice Australians resenting Americans is due to the fact that American pop culture- TV, movies, music etc- is forcefed to us. That is not to say there are not great American tv shows, movies and music artists- but when American pop culture is bad, it is really fucking bad, and incredibly annoying when it is on our TV channels and radios. But once again that doesn't mean we hate Americans.
A third thing that can be annoying about certain Americans is that they have a very insular world view, and thus are not aware, nor do not seem to care, about events happening outside their country. This can be annoying, but doesn't mean we hate Americans.
To conclude, I have yet to meet an American I have not liked, and I think that most Australians are the same- we may be angered by Americans at times, but deep down Australians like people from all countries. We are a pretty open-minded, accepting country (on the whole anyway).

I think force fed is a little strong. It's a consumable like big macs you either buy it or you don't. If you would stop watching American TV, movies, and music they would make more Home grown stuff to sell to you.

Totally agreed, I perhaps didn't word that very well. What I meant, is that for TV networks, importing shows like Everybody Loves Raymond is a much cheaper option than developing a local show. So they buy imports, and screen them. Now, Everybody Loves Raymond was a very successful program down here, so of course they are going to keep showing the show. My point in being force fed was even if you don't like such shows and believe them to be shithouse, a lot of Australians are watching them, meaning they will continue to be shown. The fact that they are American is irrelevant to the fact that they are bad.

I have never watched a single episode of ELR I knew it would be stupid the moment I saw the preview before it first aired. I also know that many american shows that were or are produced out of Australia. Farscape is the one that comes to mind at first. I think a lot of the production staff for Lost as well as the new Battle Star Galactica are Aussie. A lot of new movies were also shot there and in New Zealand. Wasn't the Matrix completely filmed in Australia?

Here's what I love about Australia: 1. Australian Rules Football. Simply the shit. The only bad parts are the pansy goal referees making those silly signs. Give me Red Cashion growling "Firrrst Doooooown!" any day. 2. www.abbywinters.com (sample)   3. Steve Elkington (pro golfer). That guy is a fucking riot. Doctor: So Steve, how much do you drink? He gave some guy a shocker on the field in 2000, and only got suspended for 12 weeks....and it was the 5th time he'd done it!

Damn straight Erin Grey was hot(and still is to this day), so was that Princess Ardolla chick(Pamela Hemlsy I think).
I like the new BSG better. The old ones were way too campy to be taken seriously. Six is way hot. It seems more realistic, more edgy. But I don't like Starbuck as chick, that was a bad call. I als would have gone with Ricardo Montelblan(sic) as the new Cmdr. Cain.
Oh yeah, the remainder of season 2 starts in january, not season 3. They haven't started s3 yet. It's kind of weird the way they broke it up into two peices
