All this car-talk has gotten me quite hard, reminds me that the 2006 Barrett-Jackson is due up in January at that muddy polo field in Scottsdale. Here's some of the dope sleds you can bid on:

I didn't see any that could break the bank, but then again, no one thought the '54 Olds F-88 would bring $3MM last year.

I declared a truce. So...I'm contributing to this post. Cuz there's a cool car you didn't mention. 1953 Ford Gardner Vega Roadster.  You think a 6'5 person could fit in one without looking like Herman Munster and getting his mouth full of bees cuz his head clears the windshield? My stepdad has a BMW Z8 convertible and I can't fit in that fuckin thing for nothin. I look like a fuckin humongoloid in it.

To break it down:
Bore spacing is the same and cylinder head bolts are in the same location, so heads are interchangeable with modification to cooling passages, and bellhousing holes are the same, but that's where the similarities end. Clevelands have "canted valve" heads (the valves are twisted and tilted) whereas Windsors are inline like a Ford FE, small chev, holden or chrysler. Cleveland heads are visably wider which gives the impression the Clevo is bigger. Cleveland has no cooling passages in the intake manifold so the thermostat housing is in the block rather than the manifold (this is the easiest way to tell them apart). The crank centreline to cylinder deck distance is 9.2 inches for Cleveland, 9.5 inches for 351 Windsor and 8.2 inches for 302 Windsor (including late model 5.0 litre). No other parts interchange. I mentioned the heads b/c that's where the majority of the power is made and where a bigger difference is besides internally in the crank area.

I'm not sure if I have the pictures or not, I'll have to look. The ex might have them but we had a 67 Camaro, everything all original and in perfect condition. We put a 502 big block in that bad boy, lowered it just a weeeee bit, with a canyon racing suspension. It did solid 10s at LACR.... which I've heard that the elevation out there is much different to the valley... most say you'd subtract almost a full second off the score. Crazy shit for sure. Taking off in that thing felt like my
