about the smartkey, the old man's got the 430 sedan, nothing sexy
the transponder in the ignition just stopped accepting the codes from the keys one day which was a bitch and a fiasco at the jamesn household last summer. i think one of the keys started failing and sending it codes that set off some security stuff, but it made noise and wouldn't stop with the other key.

mb took care of it very well as far as i know, cars are all just too smart these days.
