2pac says: I don't think so, Always good to compete. Higher prices mean higer inflation in the long run. No business wants that.
Owen Says: So, let me get this straight, you think a company should sell their product for as little as possible? This is an interesting statement given that their is a definet ceiling to the market and that your catalog is forever doomed.
No,you look at it from EA angle. I am looking it at Red Lights angle. Red Light had to come in and undercut to even get in the game. Now that Red light came in and undercut everyone, all the other studios(including EA) have to be competive to stay in the game. EA can keep up because they have been here for a long time and have money for back up.
How is Zero Tolerence competing? or DIVX, Sinplex, and others. I'm sure it's tough for them.
Why would it be tough for them? Competition may be of concern, but their overall pricing is roughly the same give or take a couple of bucks. Are they at RLD's previous prices? No. Should they be? No. They all put out quality product and are ahead of the game in terms of consumer satisfaction. Undercutting works for retailers more than wholesalers. Retailers are forced to by sheer neccessity. For a production company, I guess it's a good way to get noticed, but it won't carry you through in the long run. Quality and consistency will. Whatever, I won't specualte on companies that I don't know shit about, nor make broad sweeping statements based on 'sales charts' or 'top ten lists' as these may or may not be baseed on a sites actualt sales vs. what a site wants to sell. There's just no telling for sure and at the end of the day, does it really matter?
