Hef was NEVER in the smut business. He is in the business of producing an adult magazine. Take out the hot naked chicks and the Playboy product placement and you have Esquire or a later version such as Razor. He broke new ground.

If it wasn't for Hef pushing the envelope of decency here in America, there may not be a Hustler, Vivid or American Bukkake. If you're in porn, you owe your industry to Hef.
