From the director/producer's side of things, no doubt it's less stressful for there to be as little drama as possible. For the viewer however, it's different and they could care less how miserable she appears, since they weren't there to deal with the slamming of bathroom doors and awkward silence as little miss unhappy packs up or starts making her phonecalls in the other room.

A dash of humiliation here or there is all good.
