Wheelchair ban for 'drink-driver'

A disabled man had his electric wheelchair confiscated after being caught more than four times over the drink drive limit.

Sven Mietke, 26, from Loebau in Germany, was fined £1,300 and banned from using his electric wheelchair for three months.

Police stopped Mietke as he was on his way to buy beer from a petrol station in the early hours of the morning.

They said he was going down the road from side-to-side and when breathalysed found he had 228 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

In Germany, the legal limit is 50 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

In court Mietke admitted: "I drink 10 to 12 bottles of beer a day."

He will now have to use a regular wheelchair until the ban is over.

First off, I only drink to excess and have for many years, so my blood alcohol chemistry has evolved to where they assume I am some kind of vampire (a "day-wheeler")....second, this guy must have had some serious anti-social personality traits, as well as a veritable Tiger Tank for an electric wheelchair (hey, it's Germany) and presented a Danger to Old people walking on sidewalks, to have his wheelchair taken away. I have killed many mailboxes but I have yet to run anyone down in my wheelchair....in fact the more drunk I am the less crippled I seem to be ...go figure

And for the record, when I saw this thread about me getting caught I figured it had to do with my abortive attempt to cause mayhem at ADT .... it only took 6 hours for me to get shut down
