Ya know man, I understand where you are coming from but there is something in the flag rob is waving.

I know that people in the scene go for a certain look, for whatever reason, because it makes them feel comfortable? maybe. because it's gets them attention? maybe.

personally, I rawk the make-up and what not, because I do feel comfortable doing that and generally don't really care what other people think.

to take it further, I am not all that comfortable in my looks, so rawking the make-up, to me works 2-fold. I feel better about myself looks wise and makes me feel kinda kool.

now having said that, as an intelligent person with his finger on the pulse on mindless masses at large, I know that my style, my groove is going to be ostracized by the general populace. them's the brakes and I deal. it maybe rough, cause I hang with the porn bitches and generally speaking, like I joked before, they can take a fire hydrant up the ass but cannot deal with a straight man in eyeliner.

now here we go: I would take some exception to a trendy hipster aping my style because it's the latest fad. because what I hold dear, I know this cat is just wearing it on his sleeve for the time being and when the fad is over will discard what makes me, me, as so much rubbish.

God forbid the day comes when say Hammer Horror becomes chic, and something I have loved for a good part of my life becomes the flavor of the month. Certainly not because I am OG (hell I wasn't born until after the studio died) but because I respect it.

Like all of a sudden every one was a queen fan....well where the hell were they 3 years ago? all of a sudden the 80's are hip and Prince/purple Rain is hot...well where the hell were all these "fans" when he was kicking ass with his NPG stuff during the lean years?

again, it's not about me being more down than the next guy, but shit...that's me and I'll be rawking to the flash Gordon soundtrack long after Queen fever dies down again.

This isn't a knock @ Eon, at all, because I don’t know him that well, he seems like a kool dood.... but if Rob holds dear, some shit that was/is his whole life and sees what he interprets as it becoming a fad/hip/trendy/thing to do, yeah I might get a little worked about.
