As expected from Michael Ninn, Catherine is visually rich slickly produced cerebral eye candy. It exists somewhere above ordinary porn, but that doesn’t necessarily mean its better. There’s obviously a lot of thought and talent behind the creation of this type of neo-erotica before there was such a concept. Back in the day, Latex and Shock were cutting edge, so he ain’t a new jack alt porn director. I think everybody should be familiar with his pornography through name recognition alone. Despite the gothic overtones, it’s still just straight up smut in its own right yet there’s something eerie about the atmosphere of this picture.
Audrey Hollander has the perfect porcelain baby doll face for the part, so the casting was a no brainer for somebody in their right mind because it effectively worked for the haunting part of Catherine. Any serious pornologist should get intimate with her for a spell and it’s a creepy experience like almost being the victim of (fe) malediction due to the central character of the story.
If you can catch that drift like a cold spot in an old house, then I think you will be fascinated by this although porn needs to do more way more than that. It has to churn the loins like a witches cauldron for eruption, so seekers of heartless hardcore and gonzo insanity might pass this over because it’s not in that league of sleaze. Don’t be stupid. Enough with the philosophy, time for the pornography.
Once the sex starts kicking things really get cooking because I was totally ready to slay this w/ a pen mightier than a sword because when I watch porn I expect pure hardcore with style, not fancy schmancy cinematography. This is an acceptable combination of both, so three reasons here for that rapture I so desire combined are Victoria Swinger, Adriana Rouso and Valentina Valesques. There’s a beauty of a lesbo scene out in a courtyard featuring Audrey ravaged by two Nordic blondes in black latex boots. You just gotta love that. At least I do. The other scenes seemed like decadent European sex rites or Eyes Wide Shut shot in a grim old world castle, but without Audrey Hollander, Ninn would have no Catherine. See it, believe it. [Ninn Worx]
