I was just looking through some old files and found several reviews/interviews from '01 & '02 that I wrote under one of many aliases for Swank's Video World. Here's an interview that I did w/ Hannah Harper for an article way back in '01. Hop into the Smut time machine of sleaze....

Hannah Harper is beautiful young English newcummer
that is taking the American porn scene by storm. She
has a sweet almost innocent demeanor that
paradoxically heats up to hellcat temperature onscreen
as evident by her awesome performance in Devil Girl 2.
Her initial peformances can be viewed in More Dirty
Debutante's #195, Up N' Cummers #98, Kelly The Coed
#12, the Basbysitter #7, and Guttermouths #22. She
has recently signed an exclusive contract with Legend
Video and you can check her out in several sexy
features by veteran director Jerome Tanner and will be
working with David "Pussyman" Christopher as well. I
recommend picking up Tales From The Script, the Heist
and the aforementioned Devil Girls 2 because she
really does well with the always clever stories of
Nelson X and Jerry T's typically professional touch.
By the time this issue hits the stands she'll have no
doubt become a major star and you will all be
clamoring to see more of her beauty.
VW: How old are you?
HH: 19.
VW: At what age did you lose your virginity?
HH: I think 16.
VW: How did you end up in California doing porn?
HH: I did some print work over in England and the
agent I had at the time had some connections over
here.
VW: Did you see much porn before you got into the
business?
HH: I had seen a few videos over in England.
VW: Do you think porn is demeaning to women?
HH: I think that is the angle of certain video lines
but the industry as a whole I think no. for certain
women I think it's a very healthy lifestyle.
VW: I agree. How you encountered anything too demeaning.
HH: I did one that was bent towards that and it's no
fun to do.
VW: Have you had any really bad experiences yet?
HH: No, I feel that I've been really, really lucky.
VW: When did arrive in America?
HH: I first came out to California in April 2001.
VW: What was your first video?
HH: It was with Ed Powers.
VW: Were you nervous?
HH: Yes, I was.
VW: Is he a creep or what?
HH: No, he's a nice guy.
VW: Nice, but not so attractive?
HH: That's another kind of video angle, you know, the
older guy being with younger girls.
VW: Yeah, an old lech. Does it matter to you if the
guy is attractive or not?
HH: Um, I like a guy who is friendly and professional
because at the end of the day it's just a job. you
know, I come in, do my scene and I go back home. I got
a boyfriend so, I like a guy who just comes in like
it's work and goes home to his girlfriend or whatever.
VW: It's just a business relationship to you?
HH: Yeah, exactly. I sign the contract and if the guy
is friendly and professional then it'll work out.
VW: Have you seen any of your tapes? Do you watch your
performances?
HH: I have got a load of my tapes, but I haven't
watched them.
VW: Would you feel weird watching them?
HH: I've sen a bit of some, but it's not like I'd feel
weird, but a women tends to be so over-critical of
herself anyway. It'd be like "Oh my god, why am I
making that noise or why am I making that face?"
VW: Yeah, you'd zero in on all these little things and
pick yourself apart.
HH: Yeah, that's why I don't watch them.
VW: It must be strange watching yourself do all these
naughty things on tape.
HH: I do remember watching a solo performance I did a
solo masturbation scene while I had to re-record the
sound.
VW: Overdubbing?
HH: Yeah it was hard because I hate watching myself
and I'm stuck in this room trying to make these
noises. (laughs)
VW: You had to make it up as you watched it?
HH: Right, with photographer and my boyfriend in
background and I was like "Aww, this isn't nice..."
VW: So, that was real work?
HH: (laughing)Yeah!
VW: So, are you bisexual?
HH: I think I'm like 60/40, 60% guys and 40% women.
VW: Were your first experiences in a video?
HH: Yes.
VW: So, is doing porn videos like you expected?
HH: Um, when I was over in England I never imagined
how it would be out here. The industry is quite
different in England. You're not paid as much and you
can't build up a name for yourself. The laws are more
strict and everything's done on much more of an
amateur level. You don't get these big locations, sets
and make-up artists, so when I actually came out here
I never expected to be in Penthouse or have a contract
with a company like Legend.
VW: It seems like you are a really sweet, nice person
and do you find that to be a stark contrast to the
industry that you're in?
HH:Um, yeah, people are surprized being that I'm
quite shy and quiet, but I guess when I get in front
of the camera I try and leave that behind and try to
do a good scene. I'm not the type to take control in a
scene or talk all nasty.
VW: So, you just try and be yourself?
HH: I think I am slightly, but I think I have to keep
and keep a seperation between myself and Hannah
Harper.
VW: Do you find the real you getting corrupted?
HH: I just find that I'm getting desensitized to some
things. Like stuff I'd be embarrased to talk about a
year ago or find alarming, whereas now I'm more
comfortable with those things.
VW: Do you find it hard to maintain a relationship?
HH: No.
VW: Have you any memorable experiences?
HH: I really enjoy doing Jerry T's movies because I
know everybody and I enjoy doing dialogue.I enjoy
working with scripts. I guess doing the Heist was one
because the script was funny. All the four girls got
along really well, we had these really cool outfits on
and it was a really fun film to do.
VW: How do you find working with American girls?
HH: I don't know if I've been lucky, but everybody
I've worked with has been really nice.
VW: Watching you in Devil Girl 2 you seem really nasty
& sexy, but talking to you nnow you seem like a really
sweet person. So, when you are working you step into
almost another personna?
HH: Yeah, I do.
VW: How do you prepare yorself for a scene? Do you
psyche yourself up or just jump in and do it?
HH: Before I would be nervous before, but now I'm
getting a little more used to the transition and just
do my thing.
VW: How many videos have done so far?
HH: About 40 or 50.
VW: Do you like working for Jerome Tanner?
HH: Yeah, I just worked with him and did one with
Pussyman yesterday and they both have a nice crew.
VW: I know David Christopher will dress you up in some
nice fetish wear.
HH: Not so much yesteday, but I'm going to be doing a
Decadent Divas son and that should be fun.
VW: Do you have your own wardrobe or do you just let
them dress you up.
HH: I've got my own stuff, but it's getting to be that
I've been shot in it a couple of times.
VW: So, it's time to get some new outfits?
HH: (laughs) Yeah, time to go shopping?
VW: It's really important that women dress up for
porn, but a lot of them don't. It's something I think
you should do.
HH: Yeah, me, too. Before I didn't think there were
fans like that, but I see now it's an important thing
to do. Buying new outfits, so you don't wear one too
much.
VW: It depends on what it is, like if it's that Devil
Girl outfit with the gloves and stuff, I would love
see you in that many times, but variety is the spice
of life.
HH: I just did a boxcover the other day where I'm
wearing that outfit. It's a cool outfit.
VW: Very cool.... Not to get too personal , but do
your parents now what you're doing?
HH: They do to an extant. They definately know I do
films, but I obviously play it down. I don't want to
lie to them, but I don't need to worry them.
VW: There are just some things they don't need to
know.
HH: Exactly.
VW: So, what's your favorite position?
HH: If I was feeling romantic and all lovey-dovey, it
would be missionary and if I was feling kind of
naughty than it would be doggy.
VW: Well, I like them all. Do you like anal sex?
HH: Yes, definately.
