I didn't post at the avnblog in that thread. Had I done so it would have been as "Bornyo". My initial post to you was to save you some embarassment. It wasn't smartassed or anything. It was dead serious. I have no beef with you whatsoever except that you are basing your comments, apparently, on what you read in this thread and the link to the avnblog thread. I seriously doubt you have any advice to offer to anyone who posted over there about trolling. If you want to discuss this any further with me I suggest you use email. I won't waste everyone elses time.

Okay, bornyo. No, I was not speaking about the thread on the other blog. That thread looked like a valiant effort, yet an obvious troll without much potential to me. So, I didn't really read it. If you read my post, I'm nost sure how you would get from me talking about "the board" that meant that one thread on the avn blog. Amongst other conclusions you draw. Like the line you draw between "deadly serious" warnings on a porn board and being a smart ass.

However, I've just reviewed your posts and it appears my conclusions were incorrect.

It's not true that all you do is wait and for something you can troll and declare your superiority over. You are making an effort to get along with people. It's just true that this is about the only format you make noteable posts with. Not that I think this speaks highly of you, but in casually scanning the board, that was all I've noticed of you thus far.

Formally reviewing your posts, you are making more of an effort, so I extend my apologies for having tried to flame you. And, plan on leaving you alone.

I actually PM'd jamesn when he just put that stuff up about stopping that seemed harmless. Didn't get a response after a day so I said fuck it and kept on. I decided to go ahead and step it up because until I went and searched his posts, all I've seen is that guy trolling the board.

There was a thread where Grant Michaels was actually talking about his family getting kicked out of Zimbabwe and people telling him what balls he had talking about it. So, boryo decides to pop in and call him a roid-head. Grant blew it off, but it just looks bad.

Another thread somebody put up a silly video of Padova and everybody's saying how great it is. Bornyo jumps in with two posts calling it the stupidest thread ever on XPT. That one they pretty much just acknowledged he was being a dickhead.

I've seen others like this. This is all fairly recent.

In this thread, I got sick of the guy so decided to try to throw it back in his face. That shit about him not being a smart-ass and was just trying to give me a deadly serious warning was crap. there was a kid a few years younger than me in high school that lived in the same dorm. his name was fred. his room was basically a temple to the dodge viper and he was a weenie. one night, one of the clueless korean kids set off the fire alarm because they never really seemed to learn how those magical beige vents in the ceiling worked. so everyone's outside, cold and miserable and a bunch of the younger kids are throwing around a tennis ball the dorm parent's dog played with, and fred goes chasing after an errant throw into the brush. out of nowhere, this other kid flies after him, and for a few seconds all you can hear is screaming-then the other kid triumphantly holding the tennis ball. a few seconds later, fred emerges with his foot profusely bleeding, his visage twisted into a painful grimace. we all cheered-the fact that the other kid had made fred's foot bleed saved the night.

what does this mean? i don't trust anyone who likes pictures of cars, they're usually annoying dorks. if their feet bleed, i'm overjoyed.

I will continue to do so, though I recommend that you cease agitating the "regs" here, for I enjoy their posts as well. Not much is really gained from these pissing contests that have been going around here the last few days. You're in with a wild and wily crowd here that can be quite entertaining, so I suggest that you make your points and save the hate for the resident Brazilians and we'll all be the better for it.

For me, good trolling involves 2 things:
1. Satire which you know is on the outer edges of the recipient's brain power
2. A good user name

We're all pretty good at #1, but it's #2 that can really light someone's gas can. Seinfeld knew this, those were the lamest one-liners since SCTV, but the set-up was flawless.

Suppose you want to troll Genesis Skye, an easy but illustrative example. Obviously your posts would have lots of long words related to drug use, probably a liberal use of the word "whore," maybe even a few lines taken Grandmaster Melle Mel's "White Lines" which was written before she was born, but which just about everyone knows about (see...on the fringes of her intelligence).

The setup would be a clever, but very inflammatory username. Once she reads that, she knows she's gonna get flamed like Hiroshima. Maybe "Skye's Rx Depot," "Genesis' Meeth," you get it.

The other good troll is the 1-line e-mail, which you post somewhere it will be seen, but never actually sent. You never sign you own name, just something referential.
