Great work loopnode. I'd love it if you'd post more.

Also, I think an article about how you do the work would be fascinating. Not a how-to on where to click inside the tools you use, but just a basic description of the work flow. Like that nip-tuck procedure you just quickly threw out. Maybe a paragraph describing what the hell you're talking about. The challenge in writing this would be how succinct you could keep the article, and how basic you could keep the explanations, but still teach the reader what's going through your head when you're creating that. It'd possibly be a multi-part article where you could just finish each article as time when by. Maybe if there was something intriguing in the creation of one of your videos, could write article on that as part of the series, blah, blah, blah.

The general idea for this particular video was inspired to me by a German girl. I was helping her with a documentary she's currently filming when she heard some of my music and asked me to do an OST for her project. I did a bunch of tracks for her and ended up with almost 12 tracks that she couldn't use because "they didn't have a positive message". Hating to waste a good beat, I decided to throw something together real quick to express and explore some ideas I've had for a very long time- namely the two greatest things on Earth- Golden Eggs and Oranges.(I have a thing for women with golden eggs. Not all women have golden eggs mind you.)
And so started the Oranges music video series.

The basic workflow is as follows:

I scratch my head for hours before finally deciding to do something..in this case, make shapes in Adobe Illustrator- copy them to maya and begin to figure out what they should do. This goes on until 12pm. I stop and go eat and/or do something else.
At about 3pm I return to my desk. At this point I kickstart the music at high volume and let my adrenaline do the rest. I maintain this serious workflow for hours then take a long cigerette break...someone usually shows up at around this time. At exactly 2am I begin to edit the music to the video. I take careful and painsteaking measures to ensure everything matches (ie. high hat catches square rotating or similar). If anyone is in my house at this point they are thrown out.
All work is stopped at 4am which is usually when I either write, watch something or just get into chill mode. This process is repeated until video is completed.

The concept for the other videos is different, because each Orange video is different. Some are all special effects, some are filmed-scripted-produced, others are dv projects of a suggestive sexual nature. There are 7 more videos coming up so stay tuned and definately have lots of fun...

I hit her with the hammer on top of the head. She made a lot of noise and kept on making noise, so I hit her again.
