No, it isn't ironic Jimmy Carter helped him into power. Jimmy Carter has a knack for such foolishness.
Is it any wonder the U.S. Navy dubbed it's new submarine the USS Jimmy Carter? A ship designed to sink is wonderfully symbolic of Carter's presidency.
