I don't know if Hammer ever had street cred, but, in my experience, he's the one who made rap the "music" of choice in suburbs across America. (Some credit goes to RUN DMC, who collaborated with Aerosmith.)
The guy at bottom is Kanye "Bush doesn't care about Black people" West. He's raps latest flavor of the month. He came from an upper middle class suburb in Illinois and had a two parent household - no street cred there!
The guys up top are Kid & Play, although the inability to distinguish them from DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince definitely goes to my point.
