Brown got a strong endorsement for professionalism at his confirmation from Joe Biden. And WSJ reports that whatever his (lack of) talents in comments to the press, Brown may not be to blame from the policies and budgeting issues at FEMA. They've got some evidence that Brown opposed getting FEMA out of the local planning loop and that the unreadiness may be the result of Chertoff's priority choices. If so it's entirely possible that Brown might have quit now so that people start looking at Chertoff.



I don't care about being persuasive. It's pointless... Republicans speak a different language. They can actually justify an administration that erodes their civil rights and attempts to limit people's ability to look at things like pornography on the net.

NY Times reports that Brown padded his resume, and basically wasn't qualified for his job. A memo he sent out about getting help for the disaster was a wee bit too late and did little to point out the urgency of the situation. He clearly had no understanding of the significance of the events at hand, or maybe, he just didn't care. The memo had NOTHING to do with FEMA not being in the loop or Chertoff's leadership. Brown wrote the memo, not Chertoff.

Anyone watching knows that Chertoff is a goof in suit, plain and simple, another political bitch who doesn't deserve to keep his job. If Brown stepping aside shines a light on Chertoff, then so be it. Maybe all these positions will get filled by the appropriated people. People like Thad Allen who aren't fucking political hacks.

How much funding does FEMA get, 52 billion? Your tax dollars baby... How much funding does the DOJ get to go after the 'evil pornography'? It's fucked all over dude, and you know it.

Joe Biden is a straight shooter and I generally like him, but occasionally people are wrong about things.
