Sad, the man was cool. Ishii (1924-2005) made some weird and wild movies, for instance yakuza classic "Abashiri prison", well-made swordrdfighting films like "Tattoed swordswoman" with Meiko Kaji, SM fantasies ("Joy of torture") and karate flicks ("Executioner" with Sonny Chiba).
