Despite our welfare system, we do have "plenty" of homeless people here in Scandinavia. About a month ago, I read a survey that stated that in Copenhagen there are more homeless than in New York City (in % taking the population differences into account).

Yes, it is a matter of politics - and having to live with an income tax rate of ~50%, 34% corperate tax and 25% sales tax..

As education is free for all here and everyone gets free scholarships/goverment grants, noone needs a job to finance their studies...


2 other factors have to be considered - we are a small country - it is much more difficult to "hide" here.
And I think the "Chicken and the Egg" effect, is important, it is not "common" to do porn. Noone wants to be "the only one" or the "freak who does porn"...

But we were no. 1 in the 1960 and 1970 (Denmark), we had plenty of models - we were the first country to legalize porn... that makes me proud to be Danish.

Most of the east european countries have plenty of wellfare - but the pay for a single scene is attractive, as it is often more than a week of "normal" work. Somtimes even a month...
