One quick search on the net. The national board for health and welfare in Sweden:
"in week 16 of 1999 there were 8,440 homeless people in Sweden. Of these almost 700 were living in hostels and 500 were on the streets."

And yes, I know there´s a huge different between the Scandinavian nations an the US. But still, they ´re not richer countries than the G8 countries. The welfare level in Scandinavia is all about politics. We could have the same welfare level in this country. It´s all about politics. Amen.
