The north only made two mistakes during the war to put down southern terrorists.

1. They didn't kill all the white southern terrorists. America would have been better off with these assholes and their children gone.

2. They didn't ship all the black people back to Africa. The reasons that should have been done are obvious.



Slavery was the big Willie Horton issue leading to the War of Northern Aggression, it was the hot-button so to speak. But the legal basis for Secession was Constitutionally sound, and very much in line with the original intent of the Founding Fathers for our Republic. Slavery would have ended on it's own within another decade.

As to your statement about the South killing 4% of the population I assume you are referring to war casualties- they would have killed more had they had a little more manufacturing capacity, which they were of course not permitted by north-oriented trade policies leading up to the war.

Anyway, I agree with Da Burglar and lament the loss of States' and Individual Rights.

I also agree that xpt and the Monkey Cage in particular is not the place for this discussion, so I'm bowing out of the thread after this post.

Your comments about shipping blacks back to Africa is so obviously intended to be inflammatory.
