Honestly, though, this isn't a bad schtick. LA is overloaded with real estate agents--an ex-client of mine, housewife for 20 years, tried to earn her keep with a real estate license. I figure getting a real estate license out there must be only slightly more difficult than getting a driver's license, and that's only to prevent the Mexicans from buying it all up and officially changing the name to Nuevo Nuevo Mexico. Anything to make you stand out, I guess...

Raylene (and any other blood sucking asshole selling real estate) are doing it because its another easy fuckin' way to make huge dollars for doing absolutely nothing. It's at least $30,000 commission (a 3% share) to her every time she participates in a RE transaction.

My guess is that she got too lazy to spread her fuckin' legs for a lousy couple of grand or so and figured being a real estate agent is easier.
