A jury would not take kindly to that approach unless the mom really was a witch (example: Michael Jackson case).

More likely Disney would try to say that the kid had a life-threatening medical condition and was going to drop dead somewhere, and it happened to be there instead of the car ride home, or in bed that night, etc. This assumes, of course, that it's true, and that the ride did not contribute...
