I'm back. Took a 70 mile detour today because the desert was on fire and shut down Interstate 17, that's Arizona for you. That made it 1,030 miles one way, woo hoo. Pictures are forthcoming later tonight. Thanks for the well wishes, by the way.

OK, here we go, the first pic is a rock formation near Window Rock on the Arizona/New Mexico border.

My destination was Estes Park, Colorado, where there are almost as many elk as there are completely shit-stupid tourists (which is to say a LOT)

I apologize for the bad resolution, but this is in fact a photo of a bobcat eating a fat chipmunk of some variety outside of my window, yep, welcome to the jungle.

My final pic is of Glacier Gorge taken from the North, featuring Longs Peak, Pagoda Peak, Chiefs Head, Spearhead, and McHenry's Peak, the first second and fifth of which I've hiked in my time. Yeah, I was a mountain rat.
This year the front range received a record snowfall. I attempted to climb Flattop for something like the the 8th time, but what was usually a 4.4 mile cakewalk to the top became a deathmarch in 5 foot deep snowdrifts a mile down into the forest.
Well, I had a good trip. I got away from the heat in Arizona and got back to my mountain roots a bit. I'm headed back there in a month when the snow should be melted off enough for me to bag a few peaks.
So, while I was gone a pornstar died, Danza turned out to be Monkey (nice job by the way), where is Pericles(?), and what else did I miss?
