Couldn't disagree with this more, but I see where you're coming from. Obviously it's not responsible for every violent act that's been committed against women, but it certainly has contributed to it in some cases. I agree the person who perpetrated the crime is responsible for his actions, but no one can say that to the feeble-minded, violent porn can't provoke violent behavior.

Picture some lonely man in his mid 40's. He's fat, ugly, has no friends. He's poor, works a dead end job and deals with suicidal depression on a daily basis. For him, getting out of bed in the morning is the equivalent of climbing Mt. Everest to a mentally stable, able-bodied person. Because of all these things, this man lacks most forms of social skill. Any he has have been obtained through television and porn -- rough porn.

So lets say this guy, by some generous act of God, meets a woman. It's been a decade since he last got laid, if it even happened at all. When it comes to sex, this man's only frame of references are the Max Hardcore videos he's such a fan of. So he gets physical with this woman. He's a little awkward, a little rough. She seems uncomfortable, but he continues because he knows the girls in the videos seem to enjoy it. He starts off small -- a little tug of her hair, firmly grabs her face when they kiss. The girl's had enough. She want's to split. He's confused, he doesn't understand why. He's sitting there with a hard-on that can cut glass. He's not going to let her leave. He'll get what he wants, by force if need be. Why? Because he's seen Max do it, so it must be okay.

Now, of course, many guys are capable of this type of behavior, whether their brains have been polluted by porn or not. But the fact remains, a lot of porn fans are exactly how non-porn fans imagine them to be -- just like the man above. It would be silly to say that men who are like the man above can't in anyway be affected negatively be the images and behavior they see in some of these videos. Never underestimate what a bitter, socially inept man is capable of.
