JAG-so is it really greener over there? this winter was almost too much, i considered getting out of here but i managed to find a job in one of the few industries where boston's really where you want to be. of course, not it's too hot. anyhow, welcome and take things with a grain of salt, which is close to being a spice.

random---shaddup's posted almost 200 times in a few weeks and while none are individually that bad he's the worst poster ever. don't be that guy who feels they need to add a smiley of one-liner to everything. really short posts suck, most longer ones don't. everyone thinks their witty/pithy/dry post of a few words is going to be much funnier than it ends up playing. it doesn't work that way on the internet.
posts over a sentence usually are indicative that someone had something to say and took ten minutes to make more than one point. it's tough to write more than a few sentences if you're clueless so anything over a paragraph is going to weed out a lot of dullards. the majority of those responsible for wasting a part of my life with really bad posts in gpt and fan requests keep it to a sentence or two.

it's a pain in the ass to read through threads where every reply is one sentence that's often not useful. then you have to instantly switch speakers and gears for another of the same. when you put 30 replies that are basically grunts together or get into "+1" you're getting very little information or entertainment for your reading-time.

most really-epic posters either end up seeming tweaked-out or pathetic. watch the average person write something over a few sentences and it's painfully-laborious. people don't write much, i'd think most don't write more than 100 real sentences in a year. i blame the lost generation. so it's obvious that the russian-novels are fueled by speed or they've taken close to an hour of writing which indicates someone cares too much. it shouldn't ever take more than 5-10 minutes to express your thoughts on pornography and if you're as careless and unwilling to look at what you've written as i am, you can get a fair amount out there. it's impossible to get any kind of identity across to people if all you're writing is a few words, even if you post 2000 times. and ultimately, you're just reducing yourself to the peanut gallery/chorus that doesn't do anything but chime in. and that makes for totally-uncompelling reading.
