I'm sure no one will read this long post but here goes:

Quine was right? Are you sure? Have you even read ontological relativity? A book which states that the gap between langauge (speech, writting) and thought is so large that we misunderstand things all the time...why even compose such a book then? Won't we not grasp the thrust of the argument? I do agree from a "logical point of view" that Kant misses a certain "dogma of empiricism," but seriously, do you LIVE your life and conduct around such a rigid-ass logical system. Example: An epistimology professor is working very hard at trying to "prove" the steps/methods one's brains/mind makes in regarding a statement or fact that is true. However, during his/her time composing the prof decides to go and take a drink of water. While in the action of walking to get a drink of water, a student asks him where the bathroom is. In this process, the prof just points in the general direction of the bathroom. Now in the process of pointing did the prof go through the 90+ logistical steps of "a true statement/fact" (ala quine)? Hell no. He/she pointed and "said" look. I'm all for the position of "the stopping of doing 'philosophy' and/or philosophical thought (ala Wittgenstein)," but Quine is so fucking rigid that if you seriously follow his thought you become a doorstop or a clockwork orange if you will. A virtual ticker tape machine. I'm not advancing a French school of thought, which I honestly find a bit too poetic, but there is/there must be a middle ground. Much respect Jamesn, I'm sure most of the state school guys won't know what we are talking about. And yes, I realize the irony of posting philosophic non-sense/sense beside a woman with x's over her eyes getting throat fucked, but I can't help myself.
