At the risk of being flamed or stick in the penalty box I must object.

Although I am not a cripple, I do have a handicapped plate and I do need it. I don't walk very well and I am very thankful that the have such spots available to save me from walking a longer distance than I must.

Having said that, I do agree that the symbol looks rather stupid.
