ANYONE READ "THE INVISIBLES"? IT WAS WRITTEN BY GRANT MORRISON WHO HAS THE WRITER ON "X-MEN" FOR A WHILE. IT'S REALLY GOOD (IMO), AND "PREACHER" KICKS ASS TOO.

Yeah the 1st 2 invisibles series were pretty good. Grant Morrison is a great writer. Check out Animal Man, and his run on JLA which was AMAZING! Preacher is also great, but Ennis hasn't really written anything of equal caliber since. The Punisher stuff was fun, and Just a Pilgrim was a good time, but its sort of hollow by comparison.

Yeah, I loved Animal Man, especially toward the end of his run when he cropped up as a character controlling everything from behind the scenes (I have it as a graphic novel but haven't read it in a while).

You're right, Ennis hasn't really written anything as good as Preacher since. Maybe that was his "idea, of a lifetime" but he is still a great stylist and when you read a Garth Ennis comic you know he wrote it (without looking at the credits).

yeah, Ennis's recent Punisher stuff was just more of the same shit though. I dunno if its the character, or you're right and he really hit his mark, and that was it, but people seem to dig his Hellblazer (not me, the only run I really enjoyed was Azzarello's. Heresy, I know)

If you haven't checked out Morrison's Justice League run its fucking amazing, and probably has some of the best character stuff ever done with any of them, ESPECIALLY Batman. What a badass.

Stuff I've been reading recently is Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-men, which is pretty awesome, considering I never watched any of that Buffy shite. The new Black Panther book, Ex Machina, Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers maxi-series, The Ultimates, and The Walking Dead (the only horror comic I have ever gotten consistenly excited about since they rereleased all the old EC Tales From the Crypt)
