When I read this article at avn.com about the agency that says they are ending ties with Sexy Outdoor Sports because the girls don't like having sex by the dead buffalo they killed, I asked myself, "Didn't the agency know the assignment in the first place, and send the girls any way?" To come out publicly and smear Sexy Outdoor Sports for something the agent knew about in the first place smacks of a hidden agenda. I've been made aware in the past that Thomas Ely (his real name) will do this to producers and models for reasons that are personal and have nothing to do with professional ethics. Furthermore, this is a gentleman who solicited agency services to models and producers on the premise of 3 offices in three major cities, when he was actually operating out of the back of a garage.

And the AVN article also said he has or runs a "talent agency". Does anyone know what his agency license number is? I would like to know if he really has one since I am going to file a complaint regarding animal cruelty.

I suspect the 'severing of ties' with them by this agency is due to word that there would be a negative backlash against the models and agency for participation in this shoot. As a result, the agency went public with the severing of ties announcement to give the perception they are disgusted too. Fact is, they knew what the shoot involved and I think they are trying to save face. Some agents, however, are pimp-like rather than real management professionals. If there is going to be a troubleshooting of public and political perception of the porn industry, I would think it would be appropriate to provide at least some accountability through licensing enforcement, which is almost non-existent in Florida.

well there it all is in a nutshell....they are NOT an "agency" so they are pretty much a pimp by all means. and as far as regulations go I trust that the Bush (JEB BUSH, Pres Brother) admn will clamp down on the Florida co's once they get enough calls from the bible thumpers. Its something I dont want to see since I am already here but its really murphys law.

I think you are right about the conflict of interest, but the other models probably don't know him well enough to know he does this. In the reverse, he could very well lead his girlfriend to believe she's getting first consideration, when in fact she's not. Contacts Tom Ely once maintained in the northeast, don't have good things to say. I suspect that his new girlfriend in Florida has credit cards and other resources he cannot get himself, but that he needs to operate some aspects of operations. This was the situation in Massachusetts with his previous girlfriend.

Some people in the northeast have a lot to say about him, and it's not good. People were made promises and invested professional time on alleged projects that they now believe may have been more sales fluff than reality. He's considered a salesman who tricks people to give him what he wants based on inflated presentations.

Male models involved with that agency have played second fiddle to Ely's desires to have sex with certain models. As a result, they get less work. Certainly there is a conflict of interest there as well. His 'agency' is alleged to be used more as a vehicle for self-gratification than real management services, and it takes too much time for new models to realize this before they recognize they have wasted their time.

hey, hearing anything about new england in relation to porn then having it be this absurdly-tasteless made me look up alternative modeling---apparently they're still advertising looking for talent and billing themselves as "the largest adult agency in CT/MA/etc.". I think he's posted 100 ads on adultstaffing.com. i have no idea how legit that site is, but it's probably going to be very effective to get a bunch of people to email their webmaster/advertising dept. a collection of articles and the industry's outrage at the company and get them shut out of that site and a few others they obviously depend on heavily for talent.

Smearing Sexy Outdoor Sports because the model and agency were too clueless to understand the nature of their comments, following a shoot the model clearly enjoyed, is as low as they come. Other sites may not be willing to take the same chance with these people, who could do the same to them over something else. See the Duxxx comment below.

I think that says it all. They pissed off the wrong people with their comments, namely Tyler Faith and PETA. Then they backstabbed Sexy Outdoor Sports to save face. I would be apprehensive about hiring anyone from these people.

I don't know... there is no such thing as bad publicity, especially in porn and the music industry.

If I had a nickle for each of the people that call themselves agents (as well as those working in other aspects of the porn business) that have no degree, no experience and no freaking clue as to how business is really done, I'd be a rich fucking woman by now.lol

They got caught. Now they lie to get out of it. I wish I would have met them BEFORE we went to do the AVN shots, 'cause buddy, I'd have made them into poster children of the spin campaign for Free Speech and First Amendment Rights of the year, ba-bay!

Why would you need a degree to engage in any part of the industry? I know pimpin ain't easy, but dem hoez don't need no community cracka collage biznaz degree from you. Simple camera experience and a basic knowledge of retail seems to get most industry people by.

I was responding to the post above that said that they needed more sense of how to do business. You don't get that on three or four years of learning it on your own. You either have quite a few years of actually doing the job under your belt, or you at least have some book knowledge to back up your ideas and how to carry them out.

Maybe there's no need for a degree, or much experience for the producers, directors and talent, but most of the agencies, reps and business managers DO have degrees. The ones that don't have a full degree have many more years of experience working in their chosen porn fields than these guys appear to be able to claim.

As the poster I was responding to said, these guys are pimps. They are not a "modeling agency."
