John Chambliss, CEO of Simon Wolf Productions, Retiring from Adult

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - John Chambliss, CEO of the feature-oriented adult studio Simon Wolf Productions, announced today that he is exiting the adult industry to focus on the development of mainstream film projects. Chambliss launched Simon Wolf Productions a little over two years ago.
“This has been in the works for some time, and I believe the timing is now perfect. We intend to carry the elements of creativity and high production value, which we’ve become rather well known for, into a new dimension,” Chambliss said in a statement. “This transition will prove a challenge, but certainly no greater than that which we faced when starting Simon Wolf, and I’m confident that what we’ve accomplished in less than two years will allow us repeated success in this new arena.”
Robert Herrera, Chambliss’ partner in Simon Wolf, will be forming his own independent studio, where he will continue a number of Simon Wolf’s episodic series. In addition, he will also produce Chambliss' new mainstream projects.
Jason Elliot, who heads Simon Wolf’s sales efforts and oversee the company’s day-to-day operations, will serve in a similar yet amplified role in Chambliss’ new company, and other key staff will also move over the mainstream company.
Simon Wolf will continue to release new titles until May as they wind down their operations. The catalog and other assets will most likely be sold to another company.
“We are in discussions with several major entities for the acquisition of Simon Wolf and/or its asset base, but I think it is premature to announce a conclusion,” Chambliss said.
Chambliss has also stepped from his role as the programmer for The Erotic Networks. “TeN will continue to enjoy the exclusivity of Simon Wolf programming until we’ve handed them our last production,” Chambliss said. “I believe that both companies have benefited significantly from the association we’ve enjoyed over the years, and my respect for TeN’s tremendous accomplishments remains as strong today as it’s ever been.
“I wish them the very best of good fortune and am confident their success will continue long into the future,” he added.
