Talk about hangovers...trying to type softly. Got 2 hours to kill so here are a few tidbits on what I have seen so far (what I remember anyway) since I got here yesterday morning.

Last nite, after finally eating dinner at friggin 10:45 pm at Kokomo's in the Mirage, we hung out at the "Baccarat Bar" in the Mirage and at "Tangerine" in Treasure Island (both places across the street from the Venetian) As it turns out these 2 places are current popular hangouts for alot of the "local talent"...apparently MGM/Mirage looks the other way on the girls as long as they dont hit on customers/gamblers while gambling, or so 2 reasonably attractive chicks by the names of "Layla" and (get this)..."Serendipity", explained to us. One friggin nerd in our party, after his 3rd JD & coke, kept calling her either "Serendipity-do-daa" or "Serendipshit"...she just kept smiling cluelessly at him, hoping to score. Most of the other working girls we saw were actually surprisingly cute (beer goggles notwithstanding), and were there to not only pick up johns but were hoping over the course of the weekend to make contacts and learn about getting into porn.)

Interesting, because we didn't see any recognizable porn chicks or personalities at Mirage/Treasure island (granted I couldn't recognize anyone at ALL after 1 am anyway ), which we thought might be possible since practically everyone in Porn was staying across the street at Venetian. If I can ditch early the 2 parties I am obliged to attend tonite, I may go hangout at the Venetian (but I aint wearing any fucking tag that says my name...LOL) I plan on going to see the Adult exhibits late this afternoon ......

Please get one of the paper nametag stickers. They're giving them out at the front desk of the Venetian. Write "Monkey Cage" on it and introduce yourself to every ugly black girl you see.

Holy shit what a mess. Just got home like 2 hours ago, Rain Rain Rain (and snow) has fucked up everything, a lot of people are stuck in Vegas...what a great place to be stuck in though....

Five Ibuprofen, Aspirin and tylenol companies are bidding for my head....my hangover is soooooooooo bad. I only spent about 3 hours Saturday early evening (actually like 5 to 7:30 pm) in the Adult Expo ....totally missed the AVNs (and from what I hear, glad I did, although Cum Swallowing Whores 2 won something, which is cool...or so one of my interns who saw the show tells me LOL) The deal was, I couldn't pass up a 9 pm dinner invitation Saturday night to Google's party (one of 3 they had at various places that night) at Mandaly Bay. Sergei Brynn (one of google's founders) showed up at 10:30 pm and had this totally FUCKING hot Norwegian Model (named either Annika or Anka..???) as a date...

Google is the best Company to work for in the world hands down, if you can get in the door and know Info Tech as good as you know porn ..... *Note to any Escorts/strippers I spoke to this weekend (and any Porn Chicks who escort on the side who get to the SF/Bay area): You would do well to scope out google and their male employees as possible clients...Polite, Clean, Safe and.....Mucho Dinero (to the 3rd power!!!)

I will be posting seperate threads on various topics and issues that came to mind over the last several days...for now let me just say THIS: The AEE / AVN people might do well to consider future shows in another CITY altogether. Vegas has become TOO FUCKING big and overwhelming, plus it is no longer the cheap destination of yore...Cities like Phoenix, or Sacramento or even Seattle might offer a reasonable alternative (someone should at least research this...it doesn't hurt to call a city's commerce chamber and ask for guidance/info/quotes if you represent something with the following like the AEE has.....)

i've read tons of stuff about google being great to work for, but is your trigger-finger itchy for unloading some of your shares? google's page ranking was one of the best things that ever happened to the internet that didn't involve smelly monkey or free, instant access to naked chicks.

do you guys have something compelling in the works that i don't know about? university archiving is good in the contractual sense, i have no idea what the fuck the hardware for small-businesses thing will mean, and gmail and the desktop search didn't quite succeed in changing the world. gmail ended up being cool for a few months, now ms and yahoo stole enough thunder in storage limits for the average user to reconsider if it's worth the hassles of more addy changes and associated group emails. and you shit the bed with dejanews. merrill rolled you back to "nuetral" and they do lots of work for you and i've only seen goldman say you're not overvalued as rumored. i'm rooting for the company personally, but the guy with the weird name who did askjeeves
engine is interesting competition where you were lightyears ahead. software companies that don't have something crippling to remove from the bidness world can get in trouble so fast it's scary with only the founders ending up billionaires or tragically as mitch kapor. the thing is, they've got almost nothing that's actually valuable if things snowball against them--look at enron. still existing and selling parts off. i'm not in the tech mix, but i'm a whore for answers from those who are.

cool and appreciated, i generally have an idea about what wall street has been saying, but tech analysts are still analysts and they frankly don't understand things well-enough themselves. the wsj weekly section is scary-bad, the disjoint between what silicon valley and taiwain tell them and what comes out isn't reassuring when you guess every single wealthy investor in the country could flip to it on a given week.
