WOMEN´S CAMP 119 (1977)

Ah, the good ol´ Naziploitation days! Can you name a really good movie ever spawned within this subgenre? Yep, neither do I, although one of ´em ended up winning the Oscar for Best Picture. But I digress. Fact is, after the success of Liliana Cavani's The Night Porter, the genre bloomed with the Ilsa series and was quicky incorporated in the italian shlock repertoire, starting with Tinto Brass´ Salon Kitty and Sergio Garrone's SS Experience Camp. The then unknown Bruno Mattei, fresh from a couple of softcore films that ripped off Emanuelle, jumped in the bandwagon with Women's Camp 119 and SS Girls, both made in the same year of 1977 A.D.

Now, fans of the WIP/Nazi genre can get their fix with thos Dutch edition of Women's Camp 119, that can be ordered from Luminous Filmwurks (http://www.lfvw.com/). And although the image and sound quality of the disc is as stellar as your average dupe VHS, be prepared for an extremely sick, twisted. warped and deranged…

…fucking piece of SHIT!

OR a bonafide work of genius, depending on your tolerance for all things Mattei!

Women's Camp 119 is your usual catalog of Nazi atrocities, starting with a group of jewish female prisoners arriving at a POW camp ruled with an iron hand by a truly wacko captain, who loves to quote the Mein Kampf and wants to create perfect women to give birth to the Aryan race. The most attractive girls are saved for later, while the ugly ones are promptly gassed. One of the prisoners, the jewish Maria Black (played by Cannibal Ferox´s Lorraine De Selle), has a medical degree and is assigned to help with the experiments, that include “curing” a laughable couple of homossexuals by forcing three women to put out an impromptu peep show, and thawing a frozen guy using other nude women as living blankets. Of course, no Naziploitation movie would be complete without the macho-like lesbian warden and the retarded guy used to rape the girls as punishment (well, all the feller does is squeeze her breasts not so gently, but even that is pretty repulsive). All leads to a bleak first ending, a laughable SECOND ending and a coda depicting the whereabouts of famous war criminals like Joseph Mengele. Some people can argue that this coda has little to do with the main plot, but that´s stupid. This movie doesn´t even have a plot to begin with!
