Yes, and Michael Palin on the left. No relation to the cunt-governor of Alaska.

you have been here since 9/04 and have 6220 posts PLUS simultaneously posting at ADT with 3207 posts for a grand total of 9427 posts in 55 months.
That is an average of 172 posts a month with no time off for vacation, sickness, etc.

Hungwell. You have ten (10) minutes to do the following:

(i) Give us the name of a female you have penetrated, vaginally, within the past two years.
(ii) Provide a city and state where she can be located. Provide me her name and phone number via private message.
(iii) We will call her. If you are lying, or if you don't answer me, I will arrange for Jim Slip to have a faggot Brit-Porn-Guy give you AIDS.

Noahped / Chuck is a fanboi to all whores.

He's also a photographer,...umm, supposedly. I once heard a great story about him organizing a shoot with Jenna Haze, and not bringing ANY lighting or accessories. He came with his lil' DSLR set to AUTO and figured that would be enough.

Mays over Speaker in centerfield and Brett over Schmidt at third. I don't really like the defense on the right half of the infield either but I can't argue about the bats. I might be tempted to replace Hornsby with Joe Morgan or Nap Lajoie though.

Re: Anyone feel like arguing? - 04/16/09 06:40 PM

Speaker over Mays, .345 -vs- .302 , most lifetime doubles (792) means Speaker had as much power as Mays, as good or better defensively, speed about equal, the Grey Eagle just never gets his due.

I can live with Brett at third. And second base is debatable. My lineup has 4 left handed hitters, then 4 right handers, so that's a weakness.

But, Speaker was the best centerfielder of all time.

Sorry man, I tried what I thought might give you your argument fix, but I failed. If you bit, I was going to ramble about how Kris Kristofferson and Kenny Rogers were better country singers. I figured if I started with that it would be a give away that I was full of shit. I think Kristofferson was only in the Highway Men because he sold Willie weed.

Re: Anyone feel like arguing? - 04/16/09 07:34 PM

It was a good jab. I was too tired to get into it when I read it last night and in too good a mood today to go off on it. I've read the books, read the press and of course listened to the music. I think Cash copped to his mistakes and paid his dues.

Had you gone Kenny Rogers that would have woken me up. Kristofferson was a hell of a songwriter and based on him being primarily on that side of the business it is very likely he was furnishing product to the talent.

Cash did the three note strum because that's all his bass player knew.

Elvis didn't teach Johnny Cash a thing except how to mix and take pills. Cash is in the Rock and Roll and Country Music Halls of Fame (as is Elvis), and Cash never lost his dignity getting there. What kind of loser dies sitting on the shitter? Elvis sucked, and sucked hard for the last 15 yrs of his life. Cash totally kicked ass the last 10 years of his life... like a bird on a wire.

@ Bornyo: I fall along the lines of what my old man used to say "Kris Kristofferson wasn't Country. He was a hippy songwriter that could turn a better buck in Country Music."

@ Blah: It twists me up, but all the injuries Griffey had after signing the big contract, I wouldn't jump to conclusions on him being juice free. Did Tino Martinez just start gassing on the Yankees? How about Jay Buhner? I like Griffey, I just figure I'll wait till he retires and see if any skeletons come falling out of his closet.

That's just crazy talk. Eck over Mariano Rivera...no way. Dawson over Gwynn? .338 career average, 8 batting titles, 5 gold gloves vs. 1 great season and a bunch of above average seasons. Gwynn everytime. Dawson would bat 8th in your lineup. Brett over Schmidt? More crazy talk. Schmidt's glove puts him over Brett.

With the exception of Bowman every player on that list would be a victim in todays game. There's no fucken way any of them could compete with an Ovechkin or Malkin. Not physically and certainly not skill wise. Sawchuck would be the biggest victim, I doubt he'd play D-3 in todays game.

Re: Anyone feel like arguing? - 04/17/09 05:38 PM

WIllie, my hockey team was from my lifetime only. That disqualifies Richard and Sawchuk. Tony Twist should be on your fighting team. His mother was once thrown out of a game for slugging another fan who called her son a goon in the stands.

Blahh I'll give you Gwynn. That was an oversight on my behalf. Riviera is the most overrated closer in baseball history. The only reason everyone sucks his nuts is because he has spent his entire career as a Yankee when his entire team has pretty much been an all star team. Put him in a Milwaukee Brewer or Pittsburgh Pirate uniform for his career and no one would ever have heard of him.

Schmidt struck out too much for my taste. He had 12 seasons where he struck out 100 times or more and led the league in strikeouts four times. Brett struck out 908 times in 21 seasons, that is an average of 43 a year. Schmidt had over twice as many strikeouts in his career despite playing three less seasons and 2000 less at-bats. I'll also take Brett's career .305 average over Schmidt's career .267 average.

Schmidt did strike out a lot but he also led the league in HR's 8 times and RBI's 4 times, BB's 3 times and OPS 5 times. All that and 9 gold gloves. I'll take the strikeouts. Brett was a great player but I'll take Michael Jack.

Side story about Brett. He used to bang a girl I went to high school with. He was in his 40's at the time and she was 19 or 20. She was really freaking hot too. So I got to give him props for that one.

As a lifelong (and suffering) Padre fan even I think Rivera is the best ever over my Hoffman. The postseason success is too much to ignore.

Guessed well on the broad factual outlines, missed the mark on the specifics, although Baltimore is the place to be working, retired, or unemployed if one seeks an enjoyable modo de vivir rather than a rat=race existence.. Once more with feeling, Mencken's "On Living in Baltimore" is a wonderful read on this issue, and the whole essay can be turned up on a Google search. Am a typical provincial who really values things like a few hours deep in the forest with the deer, fox, beaver, geese, great blue herons etcetera and an attractive Baltimore female who doesn't labor under the delusion that she shits nuggets of gold. The worst thing is that we are content down here without the dazzle and sizzle of the town so nice they named it twice and everything costs twice as much as it does down here.. Then there is the fact that I have almost an hour to fuck around online before I set off for my 9am meeting. We have fun doin' it Baltimore-style, but we always keep in mind that we are by no means the supermen that master the universe up there in the Apple, and we want you to know that we hold our collective breaths in admiration for all that is accomplished up there, and we don't hold the panic of 2008 against y'all, y'all remain our heroes and objects of our veneration.

Re: Anyone feel like arguing? - 07/12/10 12:39 PM

Okay I'll throw one out there. Who the fuck does Derek Jeter think he is? If he wants a recording of Bob Sheppard introducing him when he bats in the All-Star Game then fine. I'm good with that. I think it is a great idea. For him to want to use that same recording for the rest of his career is too much.

I don't know who is or who will be announcing Yankees batters now. I don't know how good they are or how long they will be doing it. I do know that if I was the guy who will be doing it from now on I interpret this demand by Jeter as Jeter telling me I suck and that he wants the old guy back. Some people may think so what, big deal. Now say Posada decides he wants a recording of Sheppard announcing him whenever he comes up to the plate, then Riviera decides he wants a tape of Sheppard announcing him whenever he enters the game, so on and so on. Then you have the Sabathias who do not have a recording of Sheppard introducing them and are stuck with the new guy. If you hire someone to announce the team then he announces everyone on that team, no exceptions. If you are going to go this route then just lock Vin Scully in a studio somewhere in March and let him read the entire roster of every team in baseball. Then just cut that up and give copies of it to all the teams. Jeter may want to just pay tribute to Sheppard but he comes off as an attention whore by doing this.
Posted by: 99% Fiction

Re: Anyone feel like arguing? - 07/12/10 01:46 PM

Jeter is far from an attention whore. You never see or hear from the guy in the offseason. I'm sure it is just a show of respect for a guy that was part of the Yankee family for 50+ years. As for the Posadas and Sabathias wanting special treatment too, fuck em. I don't see a C on their uniform, so they don't get the same treatment.

Side note: Posada is much more vocal than Mr. Never Ruffle a Feather Derek. I think he would have been a better captain, but he isn't, so no Bob Sheppard for him.

Finally, you are really reaching hard for another reason to hate Jeter for this to get you POed. If Jeter played for the Cubs and never won a thing, he'd be fucking cannonized by baseball fans. Instead he plays in the biggest market for the winningest team, gets the press that goes along with it, never accused of juice, never beat his girl, or got caught doing something stupid, and everyone hates him. His five fucking rings are paying for the KC Royals executives bonuses, cause the owner doesn't put the revenue sharing money into the team. You wanna fucking hate on someone, hate the pathetic fuck that runs your team.

Nice job managing the All-Star game Girardi. You have the three best closers in the American League in your bullpen with a 1-0 lead in the seventh inning and you bring out Phil Hughes. Plus you burn through your bench so you have no one to pinch run for Ortiz in the ninth inning and he gets thrown out at 2nd on a bloop single to right field.

OK, TUP, 3 years later, Mariano still at the top of the game, you still feel this way??? Sure, if he was on a shit team like the Pirates, he wouldn't be as big of a star as he is, because he wouldn't have all those post season records.

Dude is money, and has been the most important Yankee since the day he took over the closer job. Most regular season saves, most postseason saves, and he'da have an easy 50 more in the regular season, if Torre didn't baby him in Aug & Sept all those years, saving him for the post season. Yeah, he's had a couple fuck ups in big games, but he been in so many of them, it's bound to happen from time to time.

Relievers usually have a prime of 5 or so years. Mo has gone 15 years of dominance, with one fucking pitch, in the toughest division in baseball. Boston, Toronto, late 90's Orioles, current Rays, no other division is that deep year in and year out.

603 saves, 1111 Ks in 1211.1 IP. 14 seasons over 30 saves, 8 of them 40+, 2 50+. 11 seasons with an ERA under 2.00. 5x top 5 for Cy Young, 2x top 10 for MVP. If you are into advanced stats, which I'm not, his ERA+ is the best all time, 52 points ahead of Pedro Martinez in second.

Check this line out

96 games, 8-1 record, 0.70 ERA, 42 saves, 141 IP, 110 Ks

that is his post season record. It is fucking SICK.

How about this:

64 games, 1-2, 1.91 ERA, 44 saves, 61.1 IP, 60Ks

Last is last year, at 41 years old, in his 17th season.

In conclusion, hate the uniform all you want, I know how it is, but you gotta be on powerful meds to think Mariano isn't the greatest reliever of all time. You need a face to hate, then hate on A-Rod, or Jeter, or Tex.

P.S. I am happy as a pig in shit that Andy Pettitte is back.

I just want to understand how 2 people can love their chosen spectator sport with the exact same intensity but:

Football fan says "we won/lost" after a game.

Tennis fan says "player X won/lost" after a game.

Can someone explain that in a way which is better or more respectful than my explanation? Which is just that football fans are stupid and NEED to feel like they are part of something larger than themselves. And tennis fans have a realistic view of their favorite sport?

Not really into team sports, although I can watch and enjoy most of them when hanging out and drinking beers (soccer, rugby and basketball are my favourites then). For me, boxing is the only 'sport' I really enjoy watching and following and that's as far from the strange 'we' shit as one can get.

It's not as complicated or as deep as you make it out to be. Football is a team sport...hence "We". Boxing and singles Tennis is an individual sport, so "He". I do know people who say "We're back" whenever Tiger Woods does well so it's definitely not a hard and fast rule.

I think a lot of the "we" stuff stems from the fact that the person that is a fan of the team generally supports them by purchasing tickets, attending games, buying merchandise, etc, so they feel like they are apart of it. Yes it is the owner that signs the players' checks, but it is the fans that gladly hand the owner the money to do it.

Then you can just go to "us vs. them." Yankees/Phillies World Series from a couple years ago. New York beat Philly. Modern day war between city/states for bragging rights. Instead of NYC sending 10K troops to burn Philly to the ground, they send 25 guys w/ bats and gloves to take their pride. Instead of looting treasures, the winner gets a ring. Instead of raping their women, the players fuck their strippers.

Further to this, within NYC, each major sport has two teams, so there's intra-city rivalry as well as inter-city rivalry.

I'm really not a huge sports fan, but there's a couple of friends at work I like giving shit when my Giants have a better week then their Jets.

Man, I don't even want to hear about the Jets, w/ this T-Bo A-hole. I'm just going to be rooting for my fantasy teams until he crashes and burns and sets the Jets back 5 years.

That said, yeah, I agree with anything anyone says about UK basketball fans. What kind of fanbase places bkb above ncaafb?

Better question, what kind of fan bases get into fights at a dialysis clinic?

This thread is here for you, people. We need it during these trying times.

Motherfuckers in Columbia SC decided they wanted a local sales tax so what did they do? They provided way less than the State mandated number of voting machines to precincts that had voted it down before. People in "Red" precincts encountered 2-3 hr lines. In a manner as ridiculous as the 59 precincts in Philly without a single Romney vote. Sometimes you cheat so hard, you get caught.

You ever been to Philly? Only people that live in Philly proper are black, gay, students or homeless. I think they got some chinks too, but they aint citizens. The Romney voters are in the surrounding counties, and there are tons of old school union Democrats living with them.

It's not bad when Libs cheat. They're saving the world.
