The Life & Times of John McCain

The Life & Times of John McCain - 08/25/18 07:48 PM

To paraphrase John Cleese, "John McCain is no more. He's bereft of life, gone to join the choir invisible. This is an ex-Senator."

I've known McCain since I was 14 and he spoke at my middle school graduation. I later worked on his first Senate campaign, before I was able to vote. When he got elected, my schoolmate -------- was invited to a gathering at Goldwater's house near Tatum & Lincoln. Since McCain was taking Barry's seat, he handed him the key to a heretofore file cabinet with the admonishment, "Don't fuck it up."

While he did fuck it up a few times (Keating 5, &c), I will admire him most for his dogged reverence of wild areas, especially in Arizona. He led bans on helicopters and light aircraft from flying below the rim of the Grand Canyon's South Rim. He fought for the preservation of the areas around Sedona and Cottonwood. And he helped block commercial developments on Indian land along the South Rim.

McCain inherited a spirit of cooperation with opponents like Mo Udall, Dennis Decincini, Carl Hayden and others.

I won't go into the war stories or any of that. The media have more pics than I could ever share. Just my personal experiences with a cat who deserved a few more years on this mortal globe.

John McCain's life was not perfect. But I thin St. Peter looked at the back of the line and said, "Hey brah, can you wait a few hours? I've got a dog up here who wants his testicles back." laugh

And if you can't laugh a little at that, you're a loser.

That's a great story, WD. Thanks for sharing.

Seems that Drumpf was forced to back down and fly the flag at half-staff after a"YUGE", bi-partisan backlash against his public, petulant hissy fit. Of course, when he doesn't even know what the flag looks like, I suppose he wouldn't know what's a fitting and proper way to display it at a time like this, either.

Did she ever reimburse the GOP for all the fancy clothes they bought for her? Before then she had little more than a few Osh-Kosh-B'Gosh overalls and some snowshoes. Y'know, so she could walk across that bridge.

I only wish trump could have died from a combination of untreated syphilis, high cholesterol and skin cancer caused by using experimental hair growth drugs so he could have beat McCain to Hell. When trump dies and enters the lake of fire McCain will stuff the Donald in a little bamboo cage and repeatedly shove a bayonet into trumps ballsack for eternity while bone spurs from Puerto Rican children are shoved into his eye sockets. Then McCain will be crucified on a cross made of Halluburton stock and depleted uranium slugs while he apologizes to the ghosts of the 1.5 million dead Arabians he helped make dead. Soon to be joined by the likes of Gee Dubya, Karl Rove, Hank Kissinger, Johnny B Bolton, Barack Hussein Obama, Hilary Cunton, Benji Yahoo Serious and any other hegemonic war mongering piece of shit that the world would be better off without.

What spin? The clip is right above you. Where is the spin? Just because Tina Fey changed it to "I can see" instead of "we in Alaska can see" ? Splitting hairs.
The clip speaks for itself, despite (((Steezo))) and others' refusal to simply watch her speak the words herself on video.

As far as Washington DC goes, McCain was the worst of the worst. A Washington creature that only sought to keep himself in Washington and create a selfish legacy for himself based on his gay "maverick" label.

Funny, most of the people adulating him this week did not and would never vote for him in a million years. They only like him because he constantly stuck his finger in the eye of conservatives. Biden and other D's that praise him for "bi-partisanship" never 1 time voted for a R policy because of McCain or for the sake of bi-partisanship. They only like McCain because he was a useful idiot. He let Obama win and attacked Republican voters along the way in 2008. That was the weakest and most shameful campaign by any candidate for president in the history of our country.

It says something of today's politics when sending a stupid tweet insulting a news anchor is said to be scandalous and a poor mark of someones character, but lying a country into endless wars in the middle east and bombing thousands of innocent children is said to be "taking a principled stand on foreign policy".

I say nothing of his military service, I respect him for serving, but his career in Washington was nothing sort of shameful.

^ Well, leave it to "One of the Arts" to prove that it's only the extremely far right and far left who are so childish as to dismiss the man for not being perfect.

Of course the man wasn't perfect, fucksticks. He was, at the end of the day, a conservative. That's what's got the left bitching and moaning. What they SHOULD be focusing on is that he was the last conservative to stand up to the greatest menace of our time, which is what's twisting Snowflake Art's panties.

Of the lot of yez, I have far more respect for the lefties, because at least they're consistent in their opposition to the man. Art, you would have sucked the man's dick in public up until the day he decided the Toxic Tangerine was a greater threat to the country than ISIS. Shut the fuck up, Putin Puta. You know nothing and you are nothing.
