Timely thread Gia for the end is near.
My advice.... Eat , drink, and fuck whatever you want as long as you bang out some squats, push-ups(yes, the self loathing type), and some hill sprints for at least an hour a day. This requires zero money. mix and match all three for that hour and soon you'll be the degenerate savage you've always wanted to be.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/07/1208:15 PM
There was a couple of niggas there. One worker female 400 pounder at least. One dude was ranting out loud about Obama destroying the coal industry. Just kept eating.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/08/1203:31 PM
One of the Narcotics Anonymous assholes at my gym today was doing fucking curls in the squat rack. He wouldn't let me work in. There is a whole crew of them and they are all jailbird fucking losers.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/08/1205:10 PM
Wait a minute. Wait just a minute. BDM, they got KFCs w/ BUFFETs where you are? Like all you can eat chicken, mac & cheese, corn and taters & gravy. Oh the gravy. KFC gots the greatest gravy. It shits all over Boston Mkt or Roy Rodgers gravy.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/08/1205:53 PM
Yeppers ! Cole slaw, mac salad, navy or pinto beans, reg and crispy chicken, mashed taters, hominy or creamstyle corn, green beans, biscuits and corn muffins, gravy both brown and white, and 5 or 6 different desserts with at least one being a hot cobbler. I know I'm forgetting a couple other items as well. Oh and most of the time livers too. Damn good for 8.95 with drink. I pay a little under 8.50 with I suppose the senior discount.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/08/1207:08 PM
When I was in KFC the other day, a lineman in from Florida asked if they had fried okra. 17y/o looked at him like he had 3 head and told him, "No. Is that a Southern thing?"
"Nah, it aint a Southern thing. They got it in Georgia... and South Carolina... and North Carolina......."
Lineman dude was large (6'4?), so I had to make sure I didn't LOL.
I hope I didn't post this story already.
Of all the things they don't have in KFC up here, I am jealous of the cream corn.

I wasn't taking a shot at the south when I mentioned another world. It's simply different and no doubt better than the shit they serve up here. all the KFC food we get arrives via the same truck that carries the Pizza Hut and Taco Bell slop.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/08/1208:05 PM
Never been to a Long John Silver's. The only time I considered it was when I saw they had a few choices of grilled fish. Sometimes you feel like eating some fish, but not necessarily cooking it. Btw, I appreciate how you assholes have tried turning this into a thread about shitty fast food.
Just did 30 minutes on the exercise bike and I am fucking drenched. I don't think I ever sweat like this on a real bicycle.

That lineman may have been my cousin no kidding. he works for Duke energy but then again linemen tend to be bigguns if they're non-union.
Anyway, for the best God Damn thing anywhere, get you some good fried okra and ladle some good creamed corn over it and eat it together. I don't think it would even come close in a KFC, because the fried okra has to be breaded in corn meal and cooked crispy not battered, and the creamed corn is not sweetened. I'm thinking the canned stuff is more to the sweet side.
My Memaw's "cut-corn" and fried okra was my desert as well as my two veggies for many years. It was divine. My Mom can do it, but it takes an act of congress to get it done.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/08/1209:44 PM
Is he up here for the restoration effort?
I here the out of state guys get paid very well. $12k, plus room & board, plus hourly wage with a shit ton of overtime. and it seems as though most of their day is spent sitting around waiting to be told where to go. Today I saw 9 bucket trucks at the feed store, buying boots and gloves till the power went out, and another dozen across the street with a couple ancillary trucks. They were all there for HOURS.
They are now buiding temporary pavillions w/ cots to house them all. I saw some modular offices being trucked from the direction of Ft.Dix/McGuire AFB heading to the highway to get to the shore. Over Sized Load escorts and some type of sirened vehicles that were brown w/ a shield and writing on the doors. I never saw them before. Not local cops, not state troopers, not sheriffs dept. Didn't get to see the plates.

You rack the olympic bar in it with an amount you can curl. then you leave your towel on it like you're in the pen and rest two minutes between sets. Go wander the hall in your shitty gear, and act all pissed off when you see someone warming up with your weight. When someone asks how many sets you have , turn your back to them and say "six or seven" and make sure you don't let them work in. Talk fucking jail slang to your other friends who get a subsidized membership/live in a halfway house because none of you can get jobs that require you to be bonded. And never, ever ,ever do legs or cardio. just do tons of curls and bench. Make sure you go outside and smoke afterwards. Throw your butt on the ground to rest with the thousands of others that you loser buddies from the NA meeting toss there. Never move out of the way when people try to walk in to the rec centre. Remember, being polite to other people is a sign of weakness. And average citizens really give a fuck that you did two years-less-a-day for some shitty drug/theft/assault charge.

As the OP, Gia, aren't you obligated to post some pics for the rest of us to, uh, monitor your progress? *cough* *cough*
After almost a year of physical therapy for an SI joint problem I got from going to Bar Method classes, I realized that pussy workouts only work if you're under the age of 25 and you're starving yourself (if you're a girl). So I took up kettlebells at my advanced age of 35 (now 36) and I absolutely love it. I need to work in some OL-style barbell work and I'm going to invest in a personal trainer for that so I don't kill myself. I'm definitely avoiding those Crossfit tards for sure; I can't stand working out with men trying to out-alpha one another.
Nutrition-wise, I'm trying to follow a Paleo/intermittent fasting approach...but I'm failing because I really love to drink and I'm out and about so much for work events and meetings.

Fuck Cultfit. Bragging about injuring yourself is for fags. My friend was a big fat slob his whole life and is now an instructor. Really? You learned perfect technique on olympic lifts in one seminar and now think you can teach it to novices? I personally think intermittent fasting is a terrible idea. Food is fuel. Your body needs it. Maybe I'm being closed minded, but I eat when I am hungry, especially if i am working out.
I like the kettlebell stuff alright. So long as you get someone who knows the deal to teach you.

Preach. I have a great KB instructor who's all about proper form and heavier weights. I find the possibility that I may literally brain myself and/or my cat if I don't pay attention to good form to be a great motivator. People who brag about Rhabdo deserve to die from Rhabdo as far as I'm concerned.
As far as IF goes, there are two dudes that write extensively about this, Brad Pilon and Martin Berkhan. Check 'em out. The protocol isn't as insane as it sounds, and I follow Berkhan's advice that women do best with shorter, 14-16 hour fasting periods, which basically amounts to skipping breakfast. I'm not aiming to get below 17-18% body fat; I think the wiry, shredded look looks awful on women.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/09/1209:45 PM
Treacher's is definitely the best battered fish/chicken place (I actually prefer the battered chicken) but who has access to an Arthur Treacher's anymore? Long John's does in a pinch. There are no fewer than twenty Long John Silver's restaurants in Singapore.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/11/1212:57 PM
I haven't walked more than a mile in one day in over a year. Until yesterday. I did an 8-mile hike through Great Falls, VA. All I'm doing today is limping and hobbling.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/19/1206:35 PM
I am doing the New Rules of Lifting deal again, just the 6 week hypertrophy 1 part. I am happy with the results. At 44, i still get decent results and I only lift 2 days. Work is making my weight plummet though. I pack a ton of meals but im getting skinny. Pinup, I gots Gia teh wimmins version of this book a couple years back. I love it..... http://www.thenewrulesoflifting.com/
I am also doing a bit of yoga again. Didn't know whether to put this in youtube finds or here....
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/03/1212:40 AM
Pinupmutant!!! Girl, I'm so excited you're here!!
After a 6 week hiatus, I just started working out again. I got my tits done 10/17/12. 380 cc, saline unders, mod, pre-op 32A/B. Post-op 32 C.
My plastic surgeon allowed me to only take walks (no hills, no incline) for the first 3 weeks. It was really boring only being allowed to walk, and for someone who prefers walking to driving anyway, I sure got bored quickly with walking everywhere. I gained 10 lbs in recovery mode. It sucks. I feel like all the hard work I put into getting a hardbody 108 lbs which I maintained for two years is now gone. My ps finally cleared me for spin class and lower body weights last week. Until then, it was three weeks walking flat surfaces then two weeks walking hills until I was allowed in the weight room again.
I wish I could do Kettle. They had it at my gym last year and I really enjoyed it. Tatty's book about weights, along with my friend who trained me the same way, really changed my body for the better. Basically, lift heavy fucking weights. None of this pussy-ass 5 lb pink dumb bell shit personal trainers THINK gets women in shape. They know nothing. I worked the muscles hard (like a guy works out) and it got me tight slinky curves. But currently, I heard from other girls with implants, I shouldn't work my upper body for 6 months. I don't know. I don't want to chance it. So, I'm back to doing spin class and lower body stuff like leg press, leg extension, and squats with the bar behind my head. I felt like the biggest slouch when I missed the gym, and I was eating more out of boredom. Now I'm back to business.
Nice to visit this thread. Reading what y'all are up to will make it fun and keep me on track.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/03/1205:50 PM
Panzer's too fat for his under-30 age. There are metabolic changes coming which could push the kid up to 400 lbs if he's not careful. I'm 6' 1", 185 lbs. and working to lose some weight myself. I could probably benefit quite a bit from losing 10-15 lbs. and if I could drop 20 I wouldn't mind a bit.
The Admiral's started DDP Yoga, so look out ladies.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/03/1207:29 PM
Alex, you've got to take care of yourself, you're going to have serious health problems. Buy a pedometer, they're only a few bucks, and see how far you walk every day. You might even be able to get one at the dollar store.
And no, a pedometer is not what Drew Black uses when he goes to a playground.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/04/1203:33 PM
Panzer, you're a disgusting pile of blubber and hair. It's amusing that your armpits are one of the least hairy parts of your upper body. Take many showers, go on a diet and get fucking waxed.
I've been sticking with my biking and walks. I'm down almost 20lbs and extended myself to an hour on the bike the other day. I was so drenched in sweat after that, that I looked like I'd been hiking in a rainforest. I'm taking a night off because I apparently fell and bruised my hip when I was out drunk last night.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/04/1205:51 PM
Panzer, if you just ate halfway healthy and walked more, AND only drank water or tea instead of soda/sports drinks, you could lose 60 lbs without trying. You really should do it now while it's easy because you're young and won't have extra skin from weight loss once you're down to 200 lbs which is a good weight for 6'2" and your frame.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/04/1206:54 PM
I'll tell you that Arthur Boorman weight-loss and "I can walk again!" video is life-affirming and made me favorably disposed to Diamond Dallas Page, even though he seems to be a bit of a meathead. I'm going to give DDP Yoga a whirl.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/04/1210:34 PM
I think I still have an old Playboy Celebrity Wives issue w/ DDP's ex(?) wife in it. Bitch was smoking hot in the Nitro days. That was a good time for me. I also dumb lucked into purchasing a SWANK magazine with Beulah McGillicutty in it (now Mrs Tommy Dreamer).
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/04/1210:50 PM
DDP was one of the most annoying wrestlers of his time and I would automatically turn it off if he appeared. Not much of a wrestling fan anyway, but DDP totally rubbed me the wrong way. Obviously that was largely a character. His yoga and USO persona is pretty likeable, actually.
Anyway, I gave the guy my hundred bucks and intend to spend some mornings doing yoga with Diamond Dallas Page. Will report on the results but I don't expect much more than general well-being and some weight loss in the 10-20 lbs range. If I lost 140 lbs like that Arthur Boorman on YouTube I'd be less than 50 lbs. On six foot one that's not a good look. I'd have to send DDP a sternly worded letter in that case.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/04/1210:57 PM
Yep, yoga isn't some weight loss miracle; however, if it's fun for you, it motivates you with working out in general so you can keep up your interest in your more strenuous areas of training.

Yes, I will, as soon as I will have more free time. Too much things on my hands now. Maybe 1-3 more weeks and I will go to Ballys.

Don't you think that Arthur Boorman lost his weight not by accident/chance but with the means of paid motivation? I mean, you are a fairly smart person, but sometimes you say these things that make me wonder about how can you fall for such cliche marketing gimmick.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/08/1206:12 AM
Two days ago I spent all day coughing up shit out of my lungs. Be the end of the day my chest felt like a marching band had been practicing on it. Yesterday my sinuses and eyes were like Victoria Falls. My eyes watered for at least seven hours straight and I was having to blow my nose literally every minute of the day. I've came down with countless colds in my life and every single one always has the same pattern. First day to day and a half is the incredibly sore throat stage. Then comes a day or two of sinuses draining and blowing my nose stage. Followed by another day or two of regular coughing up green crap from my lungs and ending in occasionally coughing up more green crap for about another three weeks. This time there was no sore throat whatsoever whatever it is skipped straight to coughing up shit and then backtracked to Class V rapids out of my nose. No fever, no loss of appetite, no real loss of energy other than chest soreness from coughing so damn much. This is still some kind of cold right?

Gia what is your opinion on that Mio water enhancer shit? I don't understand how something that makes my water sweet and tasty can have zero everything when it comes to nutrional content. I've switched to nothing but water for drinks, but wanted some flavor without the negative effects. Online reports seem conflicted. Some people say it's bad, some say it's harmless, and some say that regardless, it's a hundred times better than soda and whatnot.

Mio syrup sucks. I bought it and poured it into the sink.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/08/1211:34 AM
Never heard of it, but if you hate water so much you need a mixer, make sure it's one with the least amount of additives. And no sugar. And just mix a small amount into your water instead of the entire sleeve.

Nestle makes some flavoured bottle waters. I think they come in 6 packs and they are more than regular bottled water. There's a few flavours. I've only had the lemon, but they might be good to buy once in awhile for a change of pace.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/08/1206:17 PM
Flavored water is crap. I only suggested mixing in part of a packet sometimes if you really need to. But seriously, the best way to start liking water is to drink it with all your meals. You'll see how much you actually just need water when you're thirsty.

Really? It has sucralose, natural flavor, and some other bullshit in it and the nutrional content is zero's across the board. It's not that I hate water, it's that I really, really enjoy sweet ice tea. I figured the mio sweet tea flavor would be the perfect catalyst to converting to water, but I'm not sure if it's what I need to drop the weight.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/08/1210:05 PM
On its own - exclusively. Tea doesn't really count as liquid intake. And healthier: Sweetening tea with agave sirup or something similar can help the sugar addict to convert.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 12/09/1207:02 AM
Well it's seems to be working so far. With watching calories, walking 20 minutes, light weights, no more sweet tea, and no more waking up in the middle of the night and scarfing down a Little Debbie in a Diphenhydramine haze, I've managed to drop three pounds in one week. I really don't get the counting calories thing. My girl's RDI is like 1400 and mine is fucking 2000. There's no way I can hit that eating healthier. Fuck, I mean, I used to do about 2000 by skipping breakfast and lunch then gorging on dinner and busting out snacks throughout the night. Now, with the healthier eats, I'd have to eat like three fucking pounds of broccoli to meet that RDI. It doesn't make sense to feel full, look at my RDI, then be like, "Oh I need 600 more calories, better stuff the shit out of myself!!" My plan is to drink the water, do the exercises, and eat three squares that aren't too offending. Oatmeal and a bannana for breakfast, a low portion bullshit microwave meal for lunch, then a normal dinner with more veggies then carbs. Fuck this 2000 calorie shit, I've dropped three pounds not meeting my RDI, so I'm going to keep going with what works.
Except on my birthday on the 27th. I'm eating a huge barbeque pork steak and a half-pound gourmet cupcake. I can cheat for one day, goddamit.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/11/1306:35 AM
I began going to the gym yesterday. 1 hour on the ski cycle machines. about 700 calories. And today I also went in the morning, but then I went to McDee's for breakfast: 1 breakfast burrito and 3 chocolate chip cookies.

I woke up early today because of the interview appointment and had less than 5 hours of sleep, so I did not update any blogs today; I pretty much ate food, wanked-off and now play Counter Strike until I will not be able to keep my eyes open. By the way, I ain't endorsing jack-shit: I am not using any pills or supplements. My strategy is simple: 3 days gyms and 1 day no gym, with 1 hours and 800 calories on the skis [cross trainer machine (elliptical)] and eat whatever I usually eat without any restriction. I just gotta lose 1 pound every week.

Panzer Pockets.
You should take a multi-vitamin since you don't eat real balanced. They probably have some at the dollar store.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/21/1310:11 PM
I just found out that my Bally membership no longer works at Bally since the person that transfered me his membership bought it at a club that Bally has recently sold to LA Fitness, and now my membership works there. The problem is that the nearest LA Fitness location is in New Jersey.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/21/1310:21 PM
So I went to the NYSC and they tried to sell me full membership, I told them that I only want a trial membership and the sales rep cunt said that they don't offer it, so I told her "well, I am gonna leave now." and left. At home I checked their website and instantly bought 35 days for $30.00 with PayPal, and went back there to work out. 94 minutes on the skis = 1,000 calories. If you complain to the Consumer Protection Board, or whatever agency you have locally, they will force Ballys to honor your membership. The sale of the business to LA Fitness, with no outlets near you, amounts to a "constructive termination" of the membership — you're owed gym access or a refund.

Do you think that I can sue them in the small claims court? This "home" club to my membership happens to be all the way in the state of Washington.
It seems that they have sold 171 clubs to LA Fitness and now there are at least 2 class action lawsuits going on. My account on Ballys website tells me that I should check my account on LA Fitness website, but once I get there, it says that my membership is not valid.
This is the type of membership that was paid in full, with $0.00 monthly dues and transferred to my name.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/21/1310:51 PM
You should check the terms and conditions of membership. There may be language in the contract regarding venue and choice of law (i.e., you may have to sue in Washington State), or, worse yet, there may be language making it non-transferrable. In that case, you would have bought something that had no value, and your claim in that case would be against the guy who sold it to you. Good luck finding "zaxxon6969" again.
I should have known that with you, Alex, it couldn't be something so straightforward as you bought a membership from your local gym.

I only received the membership transfer form from the seller, who signed-off his membership to me. I brought this form to my local Ballys and they took my photo and issued a membership card in my name. I never received the actual contract that was made into the seller's name. The contract/membership was made all the way in 1979.
Can I at least make some flyers expressing my opinion on how Ballys ripped me off and distribute them to pedestrians 4 feet away from the Ballys doors?
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/22/1304:23 AM
I assumed you were just ghosting under a membership in someone else's name, but if they took your photo and gave you your own card, then I agree with Rear Admiral in post #581047. Tell them they owe you either a membership for the location you had been using, or a refund and see what they say.

How much did you buy the guy's membership for?
I paid $1,173.00 for it. The membership transfer was legit and the membership worked for 7 or so years until the Bally sold some clubs to LA Fitness. I never had to pay monthly dues to Ballys and I was in the Ballys system under this membership: I lost the card once and they made a new one by looking up my name and address.

Legally true, yes. But Bally's is a nightmare with billing issues. They will fight to their dying last breathe to screw you over financially in any way possible like continue to bill you after you quit, etc. they're famous for it. Bally's vs Panzer will be like the Hundred Years War.
Back on topic, I'm back in the gym. 5 days/week the past 3 weeks and only drinking socially. Order of priorities: Weights except chest and back, spin class, Pilates. Down 5 lbs in 2 weeks. I feel great!

my mom saw a doc on netflix last night that had juicing diets/detox in it.one of the guys from fat, sick, and nearly dead was in it.funny thing is i told her to watch that thing like a year ago.anyway, were getting a juicer.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/29/1311:20 AM
If you'd like a juice, make one. Just veggie juice. Fruit juice is just sugar. Veggie juice with a small piece of fruit added for taste is fine, however
But I don't believe in juice diets. Just eat more fresh produce.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/29/1302:55 PM
Juicers are pointless when it's separating the juice from the fiber when fiber is one of thee most important components of both fruits and veggies. You're better off getting a Vitamix that will pulverize the whole fruit into a juice or a really good quality food processor to do the same.

Or do as Gia says, eat the fruits and veggies.
Agreed. Vitamix is easier to clean than a juicer. And you can put hard stuff in there like beets.

And they'd do that, he was certain of it. All this began to come up in him, come into him now, that she put in the Black Jack strap-on and he began to precum. Get em Pipe. The less the understand, the madder they get.
I think a good thread would be for us to post pics of whores and have Pipe critique them. It may even bait a whore into posting to ask what the fuck he meant. No barrage of pics, no interloper comments, just a pic, then Pipe's thoughts.
Please don't confuse me with an answer Pipe, just a yes or no if I should start a thread.

Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/01/1312:44 AM
I have spent the past 4 months on one of the most intense "health kicks" of my life, combining a crapload of healthy dishes with daily workouts that entail 5 mile "wheels" up and down the Boardwalk in AC, along with free weights in the workout room of my building.
I've had a difficult time finding good organic produce (and organic products in general) since spending a lot of my time in South Jersey, I have to travel far and wide it seems, but it is worth it....I eat Broccoli for Breakfast these days, something that used to make me gag but now, in my desire to extend my life (and, in essence, keep splooging) I find myself willing to do a lot of exceptional things.
I finally found a steady supply of organic eggs and poultry....I was spoiled back in 2006 thru 2009 when I lived up in Northern California in Mendocino, it was so easy to find anything and everything organic.....In Jersey (and Philly), there are so many obese cheesesteak eating gluttons who do not care what they put in their bodies; No wonder so many high quality call girls in the area are reluctant to swallow, the diets of the average "john" are so putrid, their splooge must taste horrible to these beautiful cum gobblers. When I am breaking in a new whore for the first time, I always make it a point to give her a looksie at my Kitchen and specifically my pantry and fridge and counter, with the fruits (esp BANANAS) and spice rack prominently displayed. Of course, this only matters if she is awake, but anyhoooooo....
I love my berries. I love my cherry tomatoes.....and I have learned a whole slew of recipes geared around the other white meat, lean pork. Pork tenderloin rules the day, soooo many healthy options for the versatile Pig! I know Gia hates meat and pork especially, but for active muscular men, it is an awesome choice.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/01/1301:00 AM
You got a couch in your condo? I need a place to crash during eXXXotica. I'll give you $50 and a couple grams of lousy Trenton coke you can tip a whore with. If I don't have to bring my own towels, I'll throw in some shrooms too. They are organic, you'll be OK.

Proof that Van Morrison being able to write incredible lyrics using the stream of consciousness blueprint in the early 1970s does not equate to anyone being able to do so.

You're putting in the work at the gym, but you're not gonna get anywhere with a diet like that. Cut out the McD's, cheese and hot dogs, pizza and candy, and anything fried.

If you want meat, eat baked or grilled chicken.

Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/05/1309:13 PM
I tried to go for 1,200 calories [2 hours] on the crosstrainer today, since yesterday I only did 800 due to coming-in late, but was only able to do 1,000 calories today. Did the 600 then some weights but on the 2nd half at around 300 calories I was getting really tired and irritated, and I was really hungry and did not have enough sleep tonight, so I just finished until 400 and left. In the locker room something triggered an intense crave for grape quater drink, I think it was one of the floor cleaner chemicals or soaps. I checked 4 bodegas around the gym and found none of the quarter water drinks or "quarter sports" (20-oz. quarter water for $0.50-$0.70 with sports bottle cap). It seems that the $1.00 AriZonas have taken the bodega shelf space for the budget beverages, so say goodbye to bodega quarter waters. I then went to McD's since I seen their ad on TV for the 6 for $1.00 McNuggets, and got them there, plus 2-ounces of the "fountain sauce" (McSauce that you dispense yourself into a handed dixie cup). I was kinda torn between Honey Mustard and Sweet & Sour, leaning more towards Honey Mustard, so I dispensed top and bottom layers with Honey Mustard sauce, and the middle layer with Sweet & Sour. Dollar-Six McNuggets sure taste good. As for the drink, I went to the still-open Walgreens and got a 12-pack of Coke, and cracked-open a can on the spot, which I drank right away. This small after-gym snack was sure filling (for a while) and it fixed my anger and irritation.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/05/1310:31 PM
If you're trying to cut calorie intake, a quick way to lose 3000 empty calories a week is to swear off the sweetened prepared drinks. Tap water is free, Alex. You can fill up a bottle at Grandma's.

But tap water does not taste like anything. My goal so far is to get to the 285-pound mark, that will be a 1/4th or 25% of my plan, because I want to get somewhere to the 205-210-pound range.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/05/1311:16 PM
You've got a large frame, Alex, so 205-210 looks like a reasonable target. As you get further into it, you'll probably start to look for easy ways to accelerate and consolidate your weight loss.
A good staple food item for you should be chicken. A whole chicken, say a 3 lb. roaster, should be around $7.00 in New York City and definitely could feed you for two days. Chicken is the best protein going, save possibly for eggs. Cook for yourself, brother; you are wasting so much $$$ on the prepared foods.

I don't know but I do know that weight loss acceleration is kind of tempting but at the same time I know that I won't be myself if I switch over to healthier foods. I just can't let go of the grenks with powdered sugar and strawberry syrup [I just ate 12x of them today].
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1312:22 AM
I think that I can do 20 pounds a month. So far [just checked] I am 291-292 pounds, and when I started on 1/10/2013 I was around 309 pounds. But I lost 3 days and the early days I did under 500 calories per day.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1305:43 AM
Looking at your inventory of meals, it appears to be that you are addicted to sugar. Lots of Americans are; sugar is good. But it's not good for you and there are a lot of empty calories. There are 200 in that pack of peanut butter cups. Eat one pack a day and that's 1500 empty calories a week. See how it adds up? Switch to a zero-calorie soda (no matter how bad it tastes) or switch to lemoned water, and dump the candies, and you can lose an extra pound and a half per week.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1305:56 AM
I just had this talk with Alex, he doesn't like any of the Diet or Zero or Max soda. Alex, have you tried Pepsi Next? It has 60% less sugar. There's also the 7-Up/Dr. Pepper 10 line of drinks that have 10 calories per serving.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1311:18 AM
you need to drop soda for sugar free drink mixes.you can pick up all sorts of flavors at walmart.the best are the pomegranite ones.when you go and they have some(they sell out fast) grab a bunch of them.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1301:11 PM
Throw a slice of lemon in if water's boring for you. Or lime. Or any citrus. Or slices of cucumber. Your body needs water, not just liquid. I've never tried any of the "enhancers", but I'm guessing the sugar free ones have fake sugar, which actually trigger your appetite.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1301:41 PM
I am not switching Coke for anything else, even Coke Zero or Caffeine-Free. Period. That MiO liquid sucks big time, but on the other hand I still "kalachoo" [mix] Kool-Aid with less sugar. And there is also sweet tea, with 3 teaspoons of sugar instead of 4 per mug.
I did found that my turds are now more solid, compressed and are "hard to squeeze", but I do drink around 50 ounces of classic water every time I am at the gym.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1303:23 PM

Not a chance in hell. At your weight, the first 30-40 prolly fall off like nothing. That other 60 gonna be tough and require more than a little bit of cardio.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1306:05 PM
Why don't y'all have a weigh-in challenge? From things you've both dropped here I assume y'all are at similar weights but being a Beaner you are likely shorter. So you'd have to even the score and make it a percentage of BMI loss or something.
What's the point unless you make it competitive somehow? Even though it's only the internet it's a more tangible goal than the dream of a beautiful woman at the end of your weight-loss rainbow.
edit: I am thinking about this a little bit... there'd be Team Panzer and Team Frankie. A common cheer of both teams would be "post less garbage, pump more iron!". I'll even Captain Frankie's team since Alex and I have fallen out, though there are several better qualified to captain either team. I'd suggest Gia and Floofin as Captains and let them choose who they coach.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1306:19 PM
i doubt either could hang with gias regimen. not a shot at floofin or gia but that's an advanced class for the type that's almost in shape and wants to drop the ten pounds nobody else sees.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1306:41 PM
4-6 cans of Coke is 4-6 too much. Drink coffee, BLACK, instead. You think you are wanting the flavor but your body is fucking you by wanting/needing the caffeine and tricking your mind with the sugar. You also need a panel of bloodwork- at least cholesterol and some of the other cheaper test, and you need to monitor your blood pressure. Because these are measurable numbers that do not cost a whole lot to get, and they will reflect continued progress after that first 30-40 fall off. You can't afford to have your cholesterol checked monthly but checking your blood pressure is free and the cholesterol can be a 6 month thing which, coincidentally, will coincide perfectly with the end of the plateau.
And, I was wrong with my coaching suggestions. Padover would make a great one because she has empathy and is less judgemental.

Figure that a pound of fat is about 3500 calories.
A can of Coke has 140 calories, so you are drinking 480-840 calories every day (3360-5580 calories / week). If you cut just that out, you would probably lose a pound a week without doing anything else (assuming you didn't increase your caloric intake with something else). On a six can day, you are negating the cardio workout you sweated your ass off for.

Coke also has the points that I collect and so far I have 381 of them, and I need 500 for 1-year subscription to Forbes and another 200 for Traveler magazine.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1308:51 PM
Alex that's the worst possible excuse to drink Coca Cola. You know it, too. You can get the points another way whether you need pull tabs or cans or copies of others receipts.
You don't want to lose that weight, and until you do, you won't make the weightloss you want. You've had several very easy habit (not lifestyle or life-) changing tips posted and you will ignore them. You are going to explode in a pile of fat or pus unless you change your course. And they are habits you fail to change- not needs.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1309:23 PM
I shudder to think! No coke of any kind, Panzer.
I've been mainlining pork, cheese, and liquid bread for the better part of an entire NFL season. It's been chicken and rice-ville for me since New Years, is sucks but it works.
If you're in a money-savin' mood, and trying to lose weight, let me introduce you to my little friend:
Instead of eating grenks (French toast) with powdered sugar and strawberry syrup, whatever that is (tell me it's not like Nestle Quik syrup), you should be all over this meat every day.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/06/1310:43 PM
I've been doing weights 3x/week and now added a 4th workout day where I either do spin class, Pilates, or hike Runyon Canyon. I cut my drinking down to once a week. I quit snacking but am eating another meal instead. My snacks were usually healthy like fruit or baby carrots, but if I'd snack on pretzels or some kinda gourmet organic crackers, I'd nosh mindlessly and over indulge. So now, I don't snack but eat a 300 calorie meal. Keeps me less hungry.

Rear Admiral has his own motivational regime going.
The sugar thing isn't very funny to let go of. Off the heavy daily use of the stuff, using sugar as a sweetener usually gives me a noticeable sugar high and seems to add exhaustion the next day nowadays.
As far as I'm aware, fruit-based sweeteners usually found in stores and on markets selling organic food are treated differently by the human body than the refined coffee victim edition. People who want to ditch sugar might be interested.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/07/1305:51 AM
Coke is too advanced for Panzer. He needs to start w/ 6hr Sudafed or 5mg adderall, just snap a 10 in half. Take one in the morning on a day you don't work out so you can monitor your heart rate and make sure everything is good. Then don't over do it while exercising and stay hydrated.
Them athletes (Kory Stringer and that pitcher from the Orioles) that died and helped get ephedra/epehedrine banned were fucking stupid. They took too much and they got dehydrated. When ever you take any drug, you have to be smart enough to listen to your body.

Coke Zero is pretty good (please don't post some faggoty link screaming BRAIN CANCER from some loony website;peer review or GTFO) but I don't see the big deal in just having one coke a week instead of all the time.
The whole "cheat day" that our lord and saviour Bill Phillips handed down from on high so many years ago satisfies any craving I have pretty well. And I've noticed I'm less inclined to eat shit on that day if I feel like it's a chore.

To try and be healthier, I bought a tub of cookie dough, instead of a box of cookies. 6 plops on cookie sheet and into the toaster oven. Time, effort and small quantity / bake keeps me from shoving 1/2 box of cookies in my pie hole at 1 sitting.

Except for those rare stomach viruses when the only relief is a puke or squirt or both, I don't think I've ever "taken the feather" willingly. Seeing/reading two fat fucks talk about how they want to lose weight yet eat and drink shit induces that reaction.

I don't get the garbage collection inside the body either.
All the back-to-nature shit doesn't really interest me and I don't care about cattle drama. Organic food tastes better than its regular counterpart to me and that's about it.
All the stupid ideology people tend to drum up around preferences like vegetarianism and its playful subforms is just as ridiculous as people associating eating meat with being virile. Driving to the supermarket in a ventilated tank, carting pre-hunted meat through the checkout line and onto some grill driven by gas, coal or electricity - serious hunting efforts.
All the blather by people eating or seeing others eat and the standard display of immature idiocy to assume something heavy will immediately be converted to body weight is pretty bad to watch.
Vanity's more important in all this than health, I guess.

It takes 1 minute to mix flour, eggs, sugar, and whatever few other common ingredients to make cookie dough. And it tastes better.
I've been giving you guys tips on how to lose weight. So has Tatty. So has Rear Admiral. But it seems you want a quick fix. There is no quick weight loss. Rome wasn't built in a day. But you do have to keep at it. Staying patient is the hard part.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/07/1310:50 PM
Use smaller plates so your portions look bigger. Don't eat out of boredom. There. Two huge tips.
I have an hour drive tmrw in 9am traffic. Bringing a bowl of seedless grapes to eat in the car as breakfast since that's way too early for me to make egg whites before I leave the house. Then lunch at noon.

Subway is just horrible product. It is like flavored plastic. Light years worse than WaWa, which rates a bland below average itself.
I have gotten spoiled by store cooked Roast Beef sandiwches from a butcher shop. They offer top round or bottom round, not that I am bright enough to know which is a better cut. I have even started to occasionally bring some home for open faced sandwiches w/ gravy. I can't stand cold cut RB anymore all shot up w/ preservatives and what not.

Thank you for calling that out, it's a fact. They definitely took the lead in the early 90's (at least in my area) for chain sandwich shops, but since then they've been easily surpassed by Blimpie and Jersey Mike's. Hell even Jimmy Johns is better than Subway.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/09/1302:59 PM
Jimmy John's is actually good. They try to steer away from using processed foods. I'll settle for one when I'm in a smaller city as it's often the least 'chain-ish' of the options at hand which are usually chain restaurants if the mom and pop places aren't accessible to me at the time.
Or Chipotle- burrito. No rice, no cheese. Extra extra extra lettuce. Choice of chicken or black beans. Tons of pico de gallo.
Or on East Coast- soups at Hale and Hearty. I just don't do cream based soups.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/09/1304:12 PM
there used to be a really good sub shop in poway(it was an indie not chain shop).very fresh ingredients and they started my love of provolone.in escondido(north county san diego)theres this place called agrusa's thats got a mean sub.

Today I did Runyon Canyon. It's been two months. I'm surprised I'm still the mayor on FourSquare unless most ppl don't check in at Top of Nichols Cyn. Last year when I was lifting weights 4x/week, Runyon once a week was my only cardio and I got SHREDDED. Have SPF 80, will travel.

Not for nothing Bornyo but black coffee is kind of an acquired taste. Panzer may have to start off with 4 spoons of sugar and a lot of cream before he can get used to drinking it and working his way down to black coffee.

the gyms coming along now that my bed frame is out of there and assembled in my room.the stair stepper is in there, and so is the bike.just have to get the treadmill up the stairs and order a new weight bench.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/10/1308:25 PM
After being up all night, I felt too tired to do Runyon Cyn again today. But I still did it. I felt like I was dragging my ass, but it's better than NOT doing it. Besides, I master things better by doing them daily. If you skip a day due to worrying about not being at 100%, that's just going to make next time harder. It's the same principle as Calculus classes- miss a day and that next day back of trying to get back in the loop sucks.

Alex did you ever hear back from Subway?
No. I guess that the Subway customer service lady from email conversation either found my blog entry or she ran out of script to answer me with. I googled her she also replied to other people with scripted text that people were not happy with. I actually went the next day to 2 subway locations and got 3x 6-inchers for $2 each. I even took a photo of the sandwich artist loading-up huge bag of pre-sliced meat slices into the pans. It was probably 12-16 pounds and it was factory-sealed.

I think that a lot of personal training regiments are set in the way that the person would fail. I see a lot of fat people like myself hire personal trainer that cost up to $80.00 per hour of routines where the PT treat the client like a dog and the persons huffs and pants doing the things that are intended for the trim people. I think that all this "doggery" is set that the person would fail sometime and would abandon the whole training thing and then would come back and PT would say something like "you see, it was your fault, not mine, that you were not be able to do those routines. Now, you gotta hire me back, train harder and do what I tell you".

rogan had a guy on a long time ago that was all over that shit. i don't think it was mcdougall though. anyways...like any exercise you have to work into it and obviously have the right area to do it in. that is soft turf or sand and adjusting to the new strike pattern will take time.

I think most personal trainers don't get you results. They tend to have you do exercises that hit small muscle groups. I've had personal trainers and honestly, I learned more and completely changed my body having a friend train me- he's been working out his entire life.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/12/1301:32 PM
I was once like Panzer. Entering my 30's, 280 lbs....I was a complete mess.
The idea of going to a gym surrounded by a bunch of meat heads wasn't an attractive option, but I gave in and found a little place around the corner from my house. I went with a trainer, who for a mere $350 a month taught me how to train functionally. Not much of the traditional glamour stuff, but really hardcore medicine ball workouts, and big emphasis on body weight workouts (lunges, burpees, speed squats on a bosu ball, etc.). I also did lots of high intensity 20 minute interval cardio. Seriously. Google that shit. It saves you time and totally kicks the shit out of boring long form cardio.
None of it would have made a lick of difference without WATCHING WHAT THE FUCK YOU EAT.
Panzer, you will NOT continue to lose 1 pound per month doing nothing but long form cardio and no dieting. Your body will store fat instead of burning it.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/12/1303:19 PM
I know you have. I just had to jump in too.
Thing is, that cardio is going to get really boring, and he will stop. To me, the idea of doing nothing but a treadmill or elliptical for an hour or more at a time is fucking mortifying. There is now way I could ever keep that shit up.
Eating better and using time in the gym wisely was the key for me. My biggest problem has been resting on my morals. I just have to realize that at age 38, exercise and a proper diet need to be the rule rather than the exception.
And fuck yeah. It sucks big time. Especially for me because I own a restaurant.

There's a Reisman's bakery nearby [on the poop road] which makes my favorite chocolate rolls that grandma gets from the synagogue. I was passing by recently and they received several pallets of cubed shortening.

You could very well be correct. I don't use a fryer at my place, so I'm a bit ignorant of that.

It also has tons of sugar from using syrups and canned fruit. Congrats. You just had a drink that had enough cals, sugar and carbs as a meal. I spend my cals, sugar, carbs on meals not drinks- that way I feel fuller and not on a star starvation diet.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/13/1307:27 PM
thats the only sugary drink ive had since mid january.although i see what youre saying.
consumed so far today:2 shakes,a tiny lil taste of nutella(like barely even the tip of the spoon),bowl of egg noodles with melted cheddar bits.had a big water bottle of cold green tea to wash dinner down.still stuffed and that was an hour ago.anything else tonight is gonna be another shake and a green apple.

i was doing that for almost a couple years and the results werent drastic enough.even with regular workouts.
There are, surprisingly, only 800 calories in a 2-liter bottle of Coke. That means the two-gallon habit was almost 3000 calories a day just from the soda. Yikes!

When I get out of the gym everyday, the first thing I do is crack-open a can of Coke and give it a go. The echoed crack, the 1st gulp, a catch/breath of cold air and a burp, and then I am all good.

All the soda talk has gotten me back on the Pepsi. I've been drinking some 7-Up the last few months to settle my stomach, but not too often. Suddenly I've been hitting the bodega and getting a Pepsi. Fuck it's good.

Why Pepsi? I bought a bottle of Pepsi X [dragonberry pepsi] a month ago for $0.88 per 2L bottle. It was interesting and it really resembled Vanilla Coke until I found the dragonberry text on the label.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/15/1311:48 AM
I've cut back on alcohol greatly. A strong liver's hydrochloridic acid strength is very important for emulsifying fat. And I don't wanna be dragging my ass next day at 8am spin class. I'd rather feel bright eyed and bushy tailed.

I've always preferred Pepsi. A matter of individual taste.

Those should be kept out of the oven, unless to cook them.
That it's actually about ideology that much when it comes to food's a bit over the top in most cases.
I don't give a shit about cattle raised to be slaughtered and intended to end up as nourishment, loathe PETA and think People For the Ethical Treatment Of Perverts (PETOP) should be founded for something more reliable in humanity and am getting tired of idiots thinking they'll save this ball of dirt when they buy green hard disk drives.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/15/1302:22 PM
i like peta.pets are much more loyal, caring, and respectful than people are.i feel much worse for mistreated, neglected,or homeless animals than i do over-priveledged rich kids mad or depressed because they didnt get a mustang or the latest ipod vibrator contraption.

but back on topic ive started working out regularly again earlier this week.been putting in at least 25 mins on the bike a day.hitting the weights a little and doing leg lifts.ill increase it to 40 mins next week.then maybe another week or two later step it up to an hour again.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/15/1302:31 PM
And that's so you, figgy.
Even the cooky psycho doc thought Ingrid Newkirk really had some issues.
It's just silly, this channeling of Catholic guilt per animal proxy. Hand them a tofu burger and degrade them with seitan. They'll convert or die to leave an ugly corpse. It's about health here. Right.

LA Fitness just called and said that they "located" my Bally's membership [that was cancelled/transferred/sold] and that I stop by at the local LA Fitness location [either in Staten Island or in NJ] to have my photo taken and get an ID card.
I wrote a complaint to BBB that they screwed-up my membership, so that turned the wheels.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/19/1304:56 PM
dont do more than 10 hours a week on the bike or you can end up impotent.something your lil buddy needs to get hard can get severed if you ride for too long.

First off, thank you for referring to the Verrezano Bridge by its proper name. Having said that, though: You think Panzer's going over it in anything other than the S53 Bus?

I went to Manhattan in R train and then got into the free ferry and used the metrocard transfer on the S62 bus.

You never know about the Ikea. He may have purchased $100 worth of clearance shit to re-sell on Ebay. Or they could have some products that double as a tranny skewer.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 03/03/1309:01 PM
Ate a huge salad for breakfast, 5 orange wedges, and a mini waffle and mini French toast. Then I went to Runyon, couldn't find parking even far away, and went to Bronson Cyn instead. Came home, burned more cals aggressively scouring my house, then indulged in olives, carrots, and 35 cal/2 tablespoon eggplant hummus from trader joe.

Its on pause; I am still waiting for Ballys to respond to the email that I sent them on friday about the transfer of membership. Auto email said ti give them 3-5 business day, and if they dont respond then I will have to file BBB complaint. I did not give up, I only paused it.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 03/17/1309:24 PM
Whether he's given up could be read for weeks now glancing at his intake. Toxic sludge won't do that much wonders and should be about as healthy as the shakedown shakes figgy uses. Industrial drama.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 03/17/1311:44 PM
My impression is that the same nutritional value can be achieved much more tastefully, with less additives and superfluous ingredients, probably at a lower price as well.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 03/19/1301:37 PM
I just received an email today from Bally's and it said that the membership was transfered to my name. Now I sent back another email to them inquiring about how do I get the membership card. In the membership transfer instructions, it was said that Ballys would send me a letter by snail mail that I should bring to the local club to get the card.

No, its a brand new membership. The old one is now valid at LA Fitness, they upgraded it to the Elite status and it is $0.00 per month now for the next 100 years.

I began going to the gym after the pause period. 1,000 calories off and I weighted myself on the mech scales at the gym and its around 294 pounds [over 290 pounds of me!]

I had to end my workout session early on 872 calories today because I felt something a-brewin' down my stomach, so it was a good idea to end it early and come home, because as soon as I got home I took a big diarhea dump. I guess that 12x stuffed eggs from yesterday, 9x stuffed eggs from today, 2x bottles of Starbucks vanilla frapucino, 2x big macs and 3x cans of Coke don't mix that well.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 03/24/1310:29 PM
I was doing the lateral pulldown exercise today when out of nowhere a personal trainer appeared and began to tell me how wrong I am doing the exercise and how I will get myself hurt. I had to tell him "I'm all good" 5x times in order for him to leave me alone, and this was a clear case of him trying to sell me his services. I have been doing this exercise for bunch of years without any accidents and now he tells me that I will hurt myself.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 03/25/1308:06 AM
I hope you do hurt yourself.
I think you SHOULD take his advice. The way you've been doing the exercises you obviously haven't helped yourself.
In any case, if this was at Bally's, they can't charge you to show you how to use the equipment properly. It's part of their rules. You aren't supposed to use the equipment UNTIL being shown how to use it properly.
If you ask and they don't do it and you hurt yourself ---> Lawsuit.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/04/1312:09 AM
I've lost about 31lbs now on the Feast/Fast Diet since last October. I'm about 20lbs away from my goal weight now. That'd be 6'6", 225lbs. It's the easiest diet in the world. Any 2 days a week, I limit myslelf to 1/4 of the calories required to maintain my weight. The rest of the week, you eat normally (don't go nuts). For women, fast days work out to about 500 calories, for men it's about 600 calories. Since I'm kind of a giant, I try to keep myself somewhere between 600-700 calories. That usually works out to a 250 calorie McDonald's Egg White Delight for breakfast and a dinner of stir fried meat & vegetables. On my non-fasting days, I almost have to remind myself to eat because my appetite is almost non-existant these days.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/04/1312:29 AM
Oh, a great food for fast days is a serving of Wholly Guacamole 100 calorie guacamole packets. That, plus a 100 calorie sandwich-thin or bagel-thin and some smoked salmon makes a great 300 calorie breakfast.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/04/1312:36 AM
I find making your own guac is healthier and super convenient. I've been busy the past 2 days and not home. I survived on the 250 cal spinach egg white sandwich at sbux and various fruits and to-go salads at trader joe. Back to the gym today after a few days off. Feels nice.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/04/1312:40 AM
I recommend the 100 cal guac packets because I have no self control when it comes to guacamole. I'll eat whatever is in front of me. The 100 calories packets have a satisfying amount and I can limit myself to just one no problem.
And thank you, Gia! I feel like I've finally figured shit out.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/04/1306:51 AM
The problem with homeade Guac/salsa etc. is how perishable it is. I love the shit, but I usually end up throwing out more than I eat. Also, I have lost about 18 pounds in a month due to a minor nervous breakdown. Yay for life sucking.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/20/1303:44 PM
Well, through terrible life changes, basic starvation, and a near constant state of panic and worry I have lost 36 fucking pounds since about July 3rd. I expect to be in my target weight and deep into the recesses of an eating disorder by December.
So if you're looking to lose weight quick, induce a nervous breakdown/deep state of depression by having something drastic happen to you. Bankrupt yourself, play in traffic, kill a hobo, etc. You'll be well on your way to a slimmer, sexier, and mentally ravaged you!
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/27/1305:54 AM
Ha! I called that shit. No one under 3bills has the puffy, pillowy mitts like the ones you jammed into that slope tranny. I guess eating garbage and working out for an hour isn't a viable weight loss program.
I have a suggestion for you, I calls it the Translemic diet. You eat what you want, then after each meal you have a tranny throat fuck you until you puke the meal back up. Add to that some exercise and Adderall, and you'll been a lean tranny banging machine in 4-6 months.
You better get on it soon. You are 8lbs away from needing a new scale.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/28/1307:25 AM
I'm pretty proud of myself. I gained a few lbs which brings me up to 115 lbs, but I'm 17% bodyfat. I'm going to keep going. 15% is my goal. Really, 12% is my goal but that's really pushing it due to my age and occasional laziness.
I wake up, coffee/no food, do 30 mins of spin class or weights. Then begin my day. Or...
If my sched permits otherwise, I workout afternoon or eve- weights (broken up by day depending on which muscle group) then 20 mins of cardio.
The clinical results for this drug look very promising for people who want a magic pill for losing weight and building muscle mass. Although I suspect that just taking this drug without an exercise regimene will only result in toned typing fingers and a chiseled right-forearm.
Unfortunately, as a brand new research chemical it's quite pricey at $150 per 25mg. Hopefully the Chinese will synthesize it for 1% of that.

I have learned to bite my tongue on fb: all these fatty feminists complaining about 'body fascism'. I commented on goad that it's the least successful example of fascism of all time. We're the fattest society in recorded history.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 08/29/1309:49 PM
I encountered some feminist clap jap the other day. I brought up how anti-porn feminists goal is to have a monopoly on sexuality and they don't give a shit about their fellow women trying to earn a living in porn and work to keep prostitution illegal, condemning women trying to earn an honest living to the seedy underworld of traffickers and pimps.
One broad responded to me and made the point sex work was "soul crushing". I soooo wanted to say "they don't have souls to be crushed" but I didn't want to concede my argument as nothing but BS.
The entire thing started when a black chick said feminists didn't speak for her and that the civil rights movement did more for her than the feminist movement.

Didn't you spend endless hours making calls and sending letters to scam your way into a lifetime membership at Gold's or Curves or something a few months ago?
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/23/1310:00 AM
I have not been drinking sodas for 2 or so weeks and I lost couple of pounds, so yesterday I decided to make 2 quarts of sugarless Kool-Aid and drink it for a while, because I hate plain water, and Kool-Aid adds some fruity flavor to it.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/23/1311:58 PM
I haven't worked out in 3 days. I feel like a slacker and spent my only day off in bed. I was only able to eat 2 poached eggs, a diet coke, a handful of Total cereal, and a carton of blueberries.

You sound run down. Time to rest and take care of replenishing your body.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/25/1308:03 AM
The gym is getting boring. Signed up for a month unlimited at the Pilates place. Gonna slam some coffee and head to class. I've been depressed for no reason. I'm working often and money is ok, so why am I angry? Maybe this will shake things up. Had a good night's sleep last night.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/25/1308:08 AM
If you are angry and depressed w/o a doubt there is a reason. Only you know the answer. Sometimes we lie to ourselves to cover it. Get honest with yourself. What's bothering you lately. One big thing or a bunch of small ones or several big things .....etc.....
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/25/1308:12 AM
For instance , on top of my dad passing in Jan. I get down when I think about the fact I'm aging and at what I see in the mirror. Not the same young face as before. I feel like I've aged 5 years in the last 6 months. I project that onto how others in public treat me. Girls that once were flirty and friendly now either turn their noses up or flirt for getting a buck out of me. The news depresses the shit out of me as well. Much more than it ever used to. My depression has manifested itself in a spending problem. Can't seem to save a fucking dime. I feel better when I spend but then have remorse when I look at my accts.

if you're depressed then pets are the worst thing you can do. they're an emotional garbage can with an expiration date.
what you need to do if you're depressed is to live life once a while like the selfish fuck every man is. jump in your car and do 120 just because you can. if you're physically able kick the shit out of someone the next time the situation arises. fuck a backpage hooker just because you have a couple hundred bucks to spare and then post a negative review. and if theres anyone you have to answer to work on your best mad-dog face and the next time there's an interaction let it rip and see who blinks first.
false pride is way more healthy than suppressed emotions and self doubt.

I threatened to bad review this little 19 year old I was in text negotiations with a year or so ago. Very new. Apparently I asked one too many questions, and she didn't have time for this. So just for shits I tell her I'll just post our negotiations on the review board. She wasn't so busy after all. I jerked her around for about 3 hours...on company time...got her price down to $50 roses for two hours.
Depression sucks, man. And I get where lou's coming from. It just isn't that easy. I know your heart's in the right place, lou. And speaking just for me, it's appreciated.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/26/1310:09 AM

walking around saying "i'm depressed" isn't healthy is what i'm getting at. life isn't fair and everyone gets knocked on their ass...everyone. yet the world keeps turning so take an opportunity to be selfish every now and then and do whatever the fuck gets you off or at the very least whatever counts as your own little personal victory.

I feel ya, homie. It's not healthy and not really how my mind works. Mine's more the totality of the pressure(s) versus the few things that give me joy. And the knowledge that no matter what, this is the way it is and will be from now on. I do like a little victory, tho.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 10/25/1305:41 PM
Faggot crossfitters can go to a faggot crossfit gym to do their faggot workouts. They don't need to tie up the entire regular gym. And what the fuck is wrong with women at the gym? Asking to work in/if you are done with something does not mean I am trying to pick you up. Are you that fucking egotistical ? Not every guy is 'totally hitting on you', you fucking pig.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 10/25/1305:53 PM
Tatty, are you referring to the Jezebel article? I think that woman didn't know gym etiquette. I don't care if the gym is dead. Let someone work in. Unless you're just doing 1 or 2 sets, they can wait, but most weight lifters like myself do 4.
Crossfit. Haven't tried it. Heard ppl get injured often from bad form. I was curious about it simply because it seems like everyday you're at crossfit is different. I think variety is what draws ppl in. I'll stick to weights, and I'm a Pilates addict. It's cheaper than crossfit and I'm stronger and have seen inches drop off my waist in only a month. Pilates on the reformer is no joke.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 10/25/1307:38 PM
No. Got a link so I can be outraged though? There is a fugly powerlifting chick at my gym. she is friends with the 3 dicks who come in and tie everything up. I heard her going on at length about how she won't work out at the university anymore because the guys 'won't leave her alone' and 'look for an excuse' to approach her. Can you imagine a guy talking like that? You fucking narcissist pig, if i come over to use the squat rack, it's to use the squat rack. I may ask if you are done.
But now that you mention it, it's getting old w the social media thing and broads complaining. Newsflash: men occasionally engage in conversation with women out of necessity/to be polite, not because they want to fuck them/are planning to rape them later.
Crossfit: I'm not paying a shit ton to belong to a 'box'. When a bunch (3 or more) come to a reg gym, they invariably tie up stations for a million years. Fuck them.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 10/25/1307:39 PM
I'm with you there tatty. The ones that get me are the texting faggots and at my gym that is a literal as well as figurative statement. They get on a piece of equipment, starting texting for 2-4 minutes, do five reps, do 2-4 more minutes of texting, etc. I've seen some people spend 20 minutes on a single piece of equipment and maybe do 20 reps total. I usually go up to them to ask if they are nearly done if I want to use that equipment. Almost all of them either finish up or scurry away like a cockroach. I don't take my phone on to the floor of the gym. It stays in the locker.

I though Los Angeles had the monopoly on cross fitters taking over the gym with their made-up exercises and taking all the ropes and bars off the lat pull down. So annoying. I go do lats and where's the thingy? Wtf. Oh, it's with that cluster of assholes talking about burpees and their WOD. Those ppl whose shit I almost tripped over.
Texting in the gym. Sometimes I have to. But marathon texting needs should be limited to slow gym hours when there's barely anyone there, but if you're on the only machine of it's type, text later. I hate when only busy hours fit in my sched and all 3 bench press spots are full. With one of them texting. Don't pretend you're taking a break between sets. That break has been so long I just saw you write a novella.
I've never been hit on at the gym. I've been to all types of gyms. Chain/franchise gyms, posh gyms like Equinox, private gyms, old school body builder gyms...never been hit on. If anything, there's been times where I'm obviously having trouble adjusting the seat on a machine and no one notices. I've dressed all sorts of ways at the gym. Usually like a slob, but if I had pilates prior, I'm in tight pants and a Henley. No one bothers me. Gyms seem to be places where people are focused on themselves. Anyone who claims gyms are meet markets hasn't been to a gym. Once in a while, a guy will make a suggestion on my form or share my look of disdain for the douche who didn't re-rack his weights, but that's about it. There's an insanely hot chick at my gym who dresses like a whore. She looks like a video game character. I'll see guys on the down low who work out together notice her, but they're not leering or high fiving. It's as if they noticed a nice car drive by. No one approaches her either. People at gyms just want to do their thing.

Lat pulldown, exactly, they replace them with attachments that go on back row equipment and then you can't find a reasonable bar to replace it with anywhere near by.

How about broads who are fully made up to work out. I could understand coming after work and not wanting to take off your makeup, but at 10am? There seems to be an interchangeable abundance of flat-chested brunettes with their hair in a ponytail wearing Lululemon at the gym.

Nevermind that. Things are so far gone he's got a Parrot trying to sodomize Tigger on a lamp in what I'm pretty sure is the waiting room of his unlicensed Brighton Beach dentist, judging by that reception desk.

Hey don't sleep on the sofa bed, he fingerbangs trannies there. He can't bring trannies into his bedroom because that is where the cuff links and knock off cologne are stashed.
P.S. never show anyone those furry tits unless you are paying them. What are you up to, 320?

Around 320, more or less. Its the grandparents place, I sleep there overnight on the sofa. Bought a new knockoff cologne for $1.00: Jacose Blue [cheap but good copy of Polo Blue].

Panzer, you ever heard of Phenibut? It's a supplement that comes from Russia. I can't believe I'm asking you a serious question. It's not really for weight loss, but it has an appetite suppressant quality. Mostly it makes you feel like you're on Xanax, but better.

I don;t really know this stuff or how it works, but I ordered it 2x times on Amazon this year for one of my friends. He is kinda a health nut but never seems to gain any muscles [he is skinny].
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/03/1309:31 PM
The New York Times is reporting that a lot of herbal supplements do not contain the shit they claim and may be subbed with wheat and rice products. clicky
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/03/1309:38 PM
Phenibut isn't for gaining muscle, I don't think. It's a psychotropic drug used in Russia mostly for anxiety and effects some GABA shit in your brain. Apparently they give it to cosmonauts before blastoff. It makes me super focused and feel like Bradley Cooper from that Limitless movie. You just can't use it very often. It also gives me crazy vivid, somewhat lucid dreams. In one recent dream I was sitting on a bench with my friend and a sandwich started talking in his wife's voice and then later we started munching on the sandwich and I was like, "Oh shit! We just ate Sara!!"
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/05/1309:37 AM
^Free: uncle invited them after he settled here for 3-4 years. The only good thing about Ukraine is the cheap whores and soviet apartments. Everything else sucks: food prices are petty much same or even higher than here in the states, apartment maintenance is around $80-$120, and average salary is around $600. No are no Boyardees, Doritos and Mac & Cheese there. A car that would cost you $20,000 here in the states, will run you $40,000+ there.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/06/1307:07 PM
I treat my body like a fucking garbage dump because I don't fucking care. You know the scene in Cujo where the grizzled old misanthrope dumps an entire waste basket of empty beer can's into a pile of waste in his detritus strewn backyard? That's my role model/hero. My only regret is not being able to drink more and being too big of a pussy to destroy my brain with massive amounts of hallucinogenic and hard drugs.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/06/1307:18 PM
i can't really answer that without being accused(once again) of "shoehorning" so i'll let steezo explain the knockoff equivalent.

and add water, a half hour workout, and a light protein breakfast to my previous response and you have a pretty solid hangover cure. the booze/beer is optional depending on your work schedule.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/06/1309:33 PM
Lou, not sure if calling Phenibut a knock-off is appropriate. It's a prescription-only anti-anxiety med in Russia. Not sure if I'd recommend it at this point either. If you take too much, it can be a nightmare. If you take it too often, the same. If you use it regularly and then suddenly stop, it's supposed to be one of the worst experiences imaginable. Having said all that, I had a lucid dream last night about being one of the few survivors at the end of the modern world. It seemed like the dream went on for almost 2 weeks.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/07/1310:19 AM
Those supplements are fucking garbage, Panzer. If you're looking to get rid of that disgusting fat, do some brief high intensity cardio 3x a week (you can get away with 15 min) and manage your calories. And since you're all over the map and have failed horribly (as I accurately predicted years ago), you might wanna look into a personal trainer to set you up w a program to start....
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/07/1303:44 PM
I wanna know how Panzer is so fat and living in NYC. Yes, I've seen the pictures of the shit he eats, but he's also a cheap jew who probably gets in a few miles of walking each day.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/07/1306:29 PM
Supplements? weight lifting? Who fucking cares? If you want to big bigger muscles lift the weights up and down a bunch of times. Danzig benches around 500 pounds and had a black belt and still got knocked out by some big fat sloppy looking fuck. If someone is threatening your life shoot them in the fucking face.

I've been pretty much sitting at home since I graduated college[in the end of May]. Recently went for a 4-hour walk to jimmy-up the new sneakers, and when I came back home, my legs hurt due to muscle soreness. I pretty much sleep, browse the net, race my noodle and play World of Tanks.

I limit myself to drinking soda 2x per day [when I wake up and when I get back home after gym], and instead I drink plain/unsweetened Kool-Aid and tea [with 2x teaspoons of sugar instead of 4x per mug]. And I eat Alex Salad after the workout.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/08/1311:15 PM
When I visited my grandparents last time, I ate too many frozen pizzas from Costco and had to take a dump. The toilet was too close to the wall and I barely could sit on the toilet seat, but my peen and nuts did not fit inside the toilet seat because my legs are too fat.

Damn. Some people make things far too complicated for themselves. The human digestive tract is one thing that hasn't changed much during evolution in comparison to other bodily systems. So seriously, just keep it straight forward and simple. Food and activity.

I'm in the "negative zone" right now; over 300 pounds. When I will get to 300 pounds, I can start measuring progress by %: with 300lbs being 0% and 200lbs being 100% target weight. Just saying.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/10/1302:06 PM
With the shit you eat, 200 pounds is a pipedream you'll never achieve. You're too goddamned lazy and lack the mental tenacity to sustain a weight loss/health change over the long haul. And losing and keeping off 100 pounds is a long haul change over how you live now. You may see 285 for a month, about the second month, but after that it's back to 300 plus.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 11/10/1303:25 PM
This might belong in the pet peeves thread, but anyway. I'm getting a little irritated with how fast food places always throw in french fries or hash browns with my order even when I specifically request just a sandwich and a drink and not a combo. It's like the people pulling the order are so used to throwing fries/hash browns in the bag that they just automatically do it even if you don't want it. It's kind of hard to eat just an Egg White Delight from McD's and then throw away the hash browns.

1,000 calories on the eliptical[8 miles].
"Using an elliptical machine gives you an effective cardio workout and is much less stressful on your muscles and joints than running or jogging on a hard surface. However, working out on an elliptical machine requires a certain amount of stamina and endurance just like any other cardio exercise. Some fatigue is normal, but if you are not in shape or not getting enough nourishment, leg fatigue occurs more quickly and is more pronounced."

Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/27/1405:43 PM
Spoiler alert post most likely contains TMI but considering the diagnosis and symptoms that led to said diagnosis it can't really be helped.
A couple of weeks ago I woke up to the wonderful surprise of my normally small peach/large nectarine sized ball sack being inflamed to the size of a medium coconut with much pain in the surrounding lower abdominal and groin areas to go with it.
Trip to the doctor led to an initial diagnosis of a possible acute hernia and an urgent suggestion to head to the emergency room of a trusted hospital ASAP for treatment. That led to about three hours being spent in said emergency room with various people treating those parts of my anatomy like a pinata and eventually an ultrasound being done on me. Official diagnosis was inguinal hernia and epididymitis.
Ten days of antibiotics have returned the scrotum to its normal size but I am still dealing with a hernia that is pain free approximately 40% of the time, shooting out minor and tolerable pain another 40% of the time and hurts like hell the other 20% of the time.
The doctors at the emergency room wanted to do the old wait and see act before looking into possible surgery. I stupidly blew off the follow up appointment because the first week afterwards was relatively pain free however the second week hasn't been. I have a three thousand dollar deductible on my health insurance which might as well be thirty thousand considering my financial state right now. I simply can not afford to make trip after trip to the doctor while they run various tests on me only to say we don't want to do anything now let's keep running tests for a couple of months and see how it goes knowing that those tests will result in a $3001 medical bill when all is said and done.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 01/28/1402:08 PM
Yes.
There is a very short answer that I'm sure will be blown off as just me being a wise-ass, but it is the correct advice for this situation even if sounds like I'm skirting the issue at first. I am not doing that. This is real advice.
You need to sit down and find a good Internist to become your new primary care physician. The end.
Either the first "doctor" you went to that sent you to the emergency room was a worthless twat or you went to some urgent care walk in clinic (same thing, different name).
This is a problem that CANNOT be managed correctly by urgent care clinics, walk in clinics, emergency room doctors, or worthless twats.
The thing to do TODAY is spend some time researching the Internists in your area and find one that suits you (office is nearby, has admitting privileges at the local hospital, speaks English, graduated from school, takes your insurance, etc, etc). Then set up an initial meeting that is geared towards your general health not your ball sack. You tell the receptionist that you were recently in the emergency room and the ER Doctor strongly advised you that you should find a primary care doctor and that is what prompted you to make the call to her office today and you wanted to set up a general health initial visit.
You then walk in the office with the goal in your head of finding a new primary care doctor, not having surgery on your hernia. Aside from the initial visit form that they'll likely have you fill out, forget all about your hernia.
Then when the doctor walks in the room, you tell them that you decided it was time to find a new primary care doctor and you choose them. You mention that this whole thing came up because you were recently in the ER because of some trouble you were having and the ER Doctor stressed how important it was for you to have a good primary care doctor and that is why you are there in his office today.
Take your time researching your new primary care doctor and do it right. You will know you have done a good job if your hernia problem is then handled automatically for you. This is the quickest, most painless, and most cost effective way to deal with your hernia.
Uhm, however, if you pick another worthless twat like the first one you went to, you'll be wasting a hell of a lot more of your time and money.

Just observing. Because there are flat screen TVs allover the gym that have all kinds of Power-Point-like slides on a loop that say "no cell phones", "limit the use of perfumes", "wipe down the machines after use", "use towels", etc. But no one follows this shit.

Several years ago I kinda crossed the 280 pounds and then it began going up until I got around 330 pounds. Been going to the gym for several weeks now, but my new strategy is "slow-and-low" with around 1 hour [30+30 mins] on the elliptical with moderate climb and resistance [10 and 10] for the total of 700 calories]. 3 days gym and the 4th day is break. I don't want to limit myself with food, but the new strategy is 1 pound off per week.
I used to be skinny as a kid: my parents even got me to the doctors because I wouldn't eat, but then I kinda got normal. I was even enrolled into swimming "section" once a week [kinda like karate classes here in the states].
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 03/19/1410:42 PM
2kg of fortified milk powder, to be used making Greek yogurt in my crock pot. I usually would prefer a different white powder, but here is Singapore and these are my options. Yogurt supplies are the best I can do. Mmm, mmm, this yogurt is going to be thick and tangy. (Like the jizz from a tranny, Alex! Or so I presume.)

But you don't explain the details of the "handling" of the hernia problem. Most of these hernias are managed by a primary care doctor "reducing" the hernia by pushing things back into their proper place, and possibly the wear of a compression garment.

Make some vitello tonnato with that tounge. Usually it's cold veal, but you can add some tounge action to it. And while you are at it, order some Deep Fried Rocky Mountain Oysters.
You'll swear you had that taste in your mouth before.

I've been going to the gym for a while now [2+ months] and right now I am at around 304-305 pounds. I do 30 minutes on the elliptical then some chest press machine and then another 30 ins of elliptical. I gotta stay away from the chest press machine for a while.

Three hundred pounds is really heavy, Alex. I'm 6' 1" and 190 lbs, and to speak frankly, I'm fat. I could stand to drop 20-30 lbs., although it would require the purchase of a new wardrobe. You need to lose at least 100 lbs., bro.

I figured that 1 pound per week is okay. For every 10 pounds [starting at 300 pounds], I will go to Olive Garden, as a milestone celebration.
I switched the chest press to lateral pull downs, because yesterday I could feel too much chest pressure on the heart area.

Do you do any physical activity, other than walking, outside the gym?
Maybe you should write a heartfelt letter to Richard Simmons. He could make you his latest charity case, and you two could finger dudes in your apartment after work outs.

Almost finished 357 calories in 30 minutes: 30:02 to be exact. At 10 incline and 10 resistance, with around 142-146 strides per minute on average, cool down at 305 calories to 9-9, 8-8 at 320, 7-7 at 335, and 6-6 at 345 calories.

Not enough. You get all the red meat out of your colon and some dehydration going, you will be down to 297 in no time.
Here is some Thinspiration for you, courtesy of Google Image Search.
Since yer fat, you should spend some time on a rowing machine. It would give that back a light work out and be low impact on your knees. You are 120lbs from an elliptical helping to tone up your arms.

There's no rowing machine in Bally's, not anymore [it was gone in around 2001-2002], but it was there.

Re-examine your food choices.
It was the chest press machine, I was doing it every day at 3x sets at 20x reps at 35 pounds.
Bwaaahahahah. I'm the furthest thing from a ubermensch and even I think you are a monumental pussy hole. A girlscout could knock your head off your shoulders with a flick of her pinky.

I got one of these collecting dust in my basement. I hate doing anything aerobic down there, cause it is dank and damp, and I don't have room in the house for it. Maybe when I clean out the garage I'll move it out there.
Got it off Craigslist years ago, for $120, I think.

I'm not shooting to be some musclefreak, I just want to lose weight and tone up. Im in it for the fitness, not the musclebuilding. Nigga.

That is good. Fat as you is, some stretching and strengthening of your back is good. Once you crest 350, you will probably start having back issues and a year later you'll be 450lbs and pill addicted.

Love me some cialis . I posted bout it here years ago and caught some shit haha. Me neither on the pills . Percs are nice the first day after surgery then get gross the next few days. I've got an assload of klonos because i take them so infrequently.
I played soccer today. I am terrible but it's a good reason to hang out and get some exercise outside.

It better now. I think its a muscle pain, around 3-4 inches below the joint. I slept for a while but it feels better now.

I go to Taco Bell so infrequently that when the girl asked me if I want sauce, I replied by saying, "Medium?" I wound up getting Mild sauce. I did enjoy the steak quesarito I had though.

Sometimes you can do it and sometimes you can't: most of the Taco Bell locations in NYC are franchisees, which means that you gotta ask for the sauce, since its behind the counter where they work. But the one on 14th street near Union Square is company-owned, I know that because they serve Baja Blast and have sauce packets up for grabs in the open. Half a year ago I got shitload of their sauces, brought them home and squeezed them into squirt bottles

I used to grab handfuls of Popeye's "Cajun Sparkle" spice packs when I ate there all the time. After I went off to college near Spokane, Washington, a black friend of mine had a buddy back in Anchorage send us a package of the stuff. My friend went in to the post office to pick it up and the lady at the counter loudly addressed that the package was shipped to: "SnowMan and TarBaby."

Pisses me off that they no longer offer medium sauce. It's like restaurants today think there is no area between ketchup and an actual ghost pepper.

I'm giving up meat for a while and going on a low-fat diet. After a particularly lazy summer, I visited my doctor and found out that I've gained a bit of weight. Worse though, my cholesterol is through the roof: 378!!!

Do whatever you think helps; the choices are endless and usually dogmatic.
I saw a guy on television many years ago who tended to belittle common dietary advice wherever he could. For good reason - or so it seems. He's a German food chemist and considered the following to be valid regarding the mediterranean diet:
- a small breakfast - the main meal is eaten in the evening before going to bed - substantially higher consumption of meats compared to Germany - using a lot of fat - cooking vegetables for a long time while swimming in fat to be able to ensure the absence of any vitamins in the fatty stuff - generously salting dishes - almost completely avoiding raw food - not abiding any dietary rules we created - not eating whole grain products while favouring white bread - drinking alcohol
All in all, that would lead to a significantly reduced number of cardiovascular diseases compared to Germany.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/09/1406:27 PM
Today I had my friend teach me some basic grappling and getting out of choke holds. I don't think that stuff's really for me. But it was great exercise and interesting trying to remember all the moves. I'm looking for new ways to workout but I hate yoga (and running) and lifting weights alone is getting boring.
I'm giving up meat for a while as well. Did without it most of August.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/09/1406:52 PM
I think moderation is the key in all things. If you can moderate your quantities, you don't have to moderate your variety at all. and, the more different and higher quality foods you eat, the less you will tolerate processed garbage.
I had blood drawn last week and get the results toward the end of this month. For some reason they never sent me last years results but the Doctor told me my cholesterol was the best he'd ever seen in a man my age at that time. We'll see what the Blue Apron with it's liberal use of salt and olive oil applied to non-processed, fresh foods will do for me.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/09/1406:54 PM
Try a potassium supplement. OTC from Walgreens, CVS, etc or havre a doctor check if you need an RX strength one like Effer k, K-Lyte, K-Lyte Cl, or K-Tab.
If you are working out and not replenishing liquids/electrolytes you might cramp.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/09/1406:59 PM
In the spirit of the times, anybody have a favorite fitness app or use a fitness tracker?
I got a fitbit back in the spring as a sort of impulse buy mostly because I like gadgets rather than from a health and fitness perspective, but I have really started to like it a lot. So much so that I was ready to upgrade to one of those completely geeky smartwatches for exactly the opposite reason than I would have bought one before. I was interested to try a smartwatch with a heartrate monitor and better fitness tracking rather than because of my interest in gadgets.
I got shut out of the opening day sales of the Moto 360 because, unfortunately for me apparently, I have a job and was at work and they sold out of them in about 2 or 3 hours--before I could get off work and get to the BestBuy store.
So, for now, I'm sticking with my fitbit.
Also, I started using the app "Lose it" for one very specific purpose. It allows me to track how much crap I eat if I snack on junk food. It really opened my eyes. Instead of having to manually enter the nutritional info, you use your smartphone's camera to "scan" the barcode on any packaging and it automatically enters the info for you.
So, I've gradually been pulled into the sink hole of personal electronic fitness. I think I kinda like it so far.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/09/1407:42 PM
did some yoga tonight.
i was absolutely terrible at grappling as far as the rest of my crew; but just learning and repeating the basics will give you a huge advantage over the uninitiated. same with boxing and wrestling. the basics work.

This seems reasonable, although I doubt you need Blue Apron for that. Once initiated, you could go wild with good organic groceries and see if you taste a difference.

Bullshit. It thought saw an opportunity to ingratiate and failed. If it had a heart, or a brain, it would encourage potassium consumption after a bender.
Of course, as with women, it's only knowledge of the effects of alcohol is second-hand.

Exactly. Take too much Vitamin B or C and you just pee it out. Vitamin A is fat soluble and stays in your body and an overdose over time can even kill you. I think the Shakleton expedition survivors got Vitamin A poisoning from eating the livers of the Husky dogs that died during their travel. Hair started falling off, skin started getting scaly and scabby, etc. No one knew the Husky livers had high levels of Vitamin A.
Or, just for kicks, try megadoses of St John's Wort (popular anti-depressant). It can affect the strength of RX Antidepressants Birth control pills Cyclosporine, which prevents the body from rejecting transplanted organs Digoxin, a heart medication Some HIV drugs including indinavir Some cancer medications including irinotecan Warfarin and similar medications used to thin the blood. - source - NIH - http://nccam.nih.gov/health/stjohnswort/sjw-and-depression.htm

Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/25/1408:23 AM
I'm trying that thing where you walk 10,000 steps every day. This was mostly inspired by the Health app on my new iPhone 6. It counts every step you take each day and logs them. Even after adding an afternoon walk around downtown, I was only at 7,500 steps yesterday. It also counts how many flights of stairs you climb each day. I climb 5-10 flights each day, mostly because my TV/Entertainment room is in a finished basement.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/25/1408:33 AM
I have a fitbit that does that. I was getting on a slow day about 8,000 steps but on active work days well over 13,000 steps. This is just normal shit like walking jobsites and potential sites.
I got all my bloodwork back and saw the Doc yesterday. My HDL (good) cholesterol was 127. He said it was the best he'd ever seen and that I should be expecting a call to participate in some study or another. Not sure if I'll participate as what they will learn will likely frighten me.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/25/1408:54 AM
I had one of those pedometers at my last employer who collected all of that i am sure to jerk us on insurance, and I was not as good as I thought i would be, mostly because recovering from a really bad muscle pull in the leg is a fucking pain.
now that I have a puppy, I walk her 4 times a day. nothing long - 10-15 per walk, but she is a handful. In the last 3 months the doctor said i dropped 12 lbs and my blood work was looking much better. still not where i was in 2007 when i was smashing single moms within a 100 miles, but closer.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/25/1410:18 AM
I wish I could lose weight just from walking. I think my body is to accustomed to it. I'm back in the weight room after a week of lounging and eating food I normally don't eat. In one week, I feel so disgusting. I've lost some definition. It'll also keep me warm if I'm training steadily since the cold weather is approaching.
And has anyone ever taken cayenne pepper pills to stay warmer? My friend swears by it.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/28/1411:45 AM
That ain't bad. I still eat the bro B4L way, even though a coupla decent studies have pretty much shown when we eat is meaningless. easier to get calories spread out I find.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 09/30/1401:25 PM

105 would look good on your frame. With a little more muscle definition as well.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 02/08/1507:31 PM
Was 120 there.
Shoveled snow and cleaned the house. Brisk walk through the neighborhood to pay bills and run errands. 100 pushups and squats in the house. You can get creative in cold weather.

My diet-killer has returned to the local McDonald's stores: steak on any breakfast sammich. I love their greasy "steak," regardless of whatever it actually is. In fact, I think they should start serving CheesySteak McWraps as a full-time menu item.

I've found the greatest protein/granola bar ever. Cascadian Farms organic peanut butter and chocolate protein bars. They're not now-cal or low-fat, but they're healthy and organic and have maybe 5 ingredients, the first two of which are peanuts and peanut butter. They're also low in sodium and don't have too much sugar, either. You won't be able to stop eating them if you're high though.

You keep eating like that, it's going to be more like 5 pounds a year, net gain. I think you and License plate should have some sort of monthly weigh-in. The competition might do you both some good. Speaking of...

Just went for an after-dinner walk and they were doing a free, "Yoga in the Park," thing at the downtown park strip. Do yoga instructors always sound like they're directing a porno? "Make your straddle wider!! Look at me! I said look at me!! Make your straddle lower!!"
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 06/16/1802:30 AM
261 pounds right now. Walked the whole Coney Island yesterday; from the stinky river start on McDonald's Avenue to the Holocost Park on Sheepshead Bay, thru the start of Seagate checkpoint to the Kingborough CC checkpoint with the whole boardwalk from start to finish. 41,000+ steps. Seen so many useless, loud and ugly people that I am happy to be home but depressed.
Re: The Health and Fitness thread - 07/20/1812:36 PM
Nice. That's a lot of walking.
I've been walking lately because I've been too lazy to jog. I've been going for 6 miles but by the end my feet are pretty raw. I couldn't do more without my foot turning into 1 big blister. Guess I need to try new shoes.
Either way, you must be burning 1,600+ calories. I don't know how often you're walking, but you could virtually eat what ever you wanted and still lose weight.

Walked 11+ miles today.
259 pounds as of 7/15/18.
I completed doing 100 squats per day, for 5 days and 5 days rest, 10 of these groups and will now do a 3 week break from the squats.

You gotta walk them feet so they adapt. I've been walking more in spring because the heat in the summer is very high. So far I walked here:
