I like the comic geeks counter protest. When Phelps dies its going to be awesome watching his family deal with the protesting and partying outside his funeral.

Re: Super heroes Vs. the Westboro Baptist Church - 07/23/10 05:52 PM

The Westboro Baptist Church is notoriously litigious -- anyone who pushes back against their vile bullshit gets sued to death.

Phelps himself was an attorney (later disbarred), and five of his 13 children are or were apparently lawyers, as they were reportedly sanctioned by the Federal Court in their district along with their father. Something like 40 of the WBC parishioners are lawyers who volunteer their time to use the civil justice systems to harass the enemies of the church.

Ridicule of the sort practiced by the Comic-Con geeks really is the best way to deal with these fools. Well done.

God Hates Slurm.

Nerds Rule. I love that someone has stood up to them. I've always wanted to watch a squad of Marines wade into this bunch, but seeing them marginalized is a hoot.

Where do they get the cash for travelling around filing lawsuits? Is there an actual Westboro Baptist Church building somewhere? Do they hold Sunday services? How many members, outside the Phelps family, are there?

"...classified as a Hate- Group by the Southern Poverty Law Centre." Thank goodness that the good pimp Dees gave us the heads up on that one. No one would've known if not for him. The godhatesfags.com and all the other godhates...com's they own might have given it away just a tiny bit.

I have no problem with their freedom of speech. People have a right to hate. It goes both ways tho. I'd have no problems with some Marines or bikers expressing their free speech on the WBC.

I agree that so far Anonymous has been on the side of the angels. I am aghast that WBC would bring their carnival of hatred buncombe to CT and would love to nail Shirley with a rotten tomato. As an aside IMO the way WBC uses their own children is a form of child abuse. Nonetheless, I worry that Anonymous might become intoxicated with their power and abuse it.

The Westboro Church is planning to picket the funerals of the Newtown, Conn. school shootings and while many people have become outraged over this, a group of bikers have taken action. According to the Sun News on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, it looks as if the bikers thwarted the attempts of the Westboro Church protest in Newtown, Conn.

Say what you will about motorcycle enthusiasts, but they've always been patriots. In the 60s they beat up hippie anti-war protestors.

When it suits their purposes. Manson wanted to use them as the shock troops for Helter Skelter. Actually a lot of the ideological leaders of the hippie movement wanted to use 1%ers as a security/ fighting force for the Revolution.

IIRC, many motorcycle groups/gangs originated from WWII flyer groups looking to find the same rush and independence they found when flying missions. Thus the leather jackets and googles.

Even the name Hell's Angels was originally a movie about WWI flyer, adopted by WWII fighters to their group to emulate the guys in the movie, and then adopted by the motorcycle guys to emulate the WWII flyers.

They're still just looking for an excuse to rev their loud egines, stroke their beards, wear cool sunglasses and go "look at me and my FTW/TCB tattoos! I'm tough!" I think there's still something slighty admirable with what their doing, but don't sit here and tell me that any of those entitled pricks would show up if they had to take the bus.
