I recently caught snippets of TWO very interesting episodes of a totally scripted MTV show called "Date My Mom" (one episode aired tonight). On both episodes they had a wise cracking spade take 3 white moms on fake dates so they could convince him to pick their white daughter for a dream date. Ya know, maybe Desi Foxx isn't such a bad mother after all. She just reflects the cultural and moral cesspool that America has become thanks to the mainstream media.

I bet that Viacom/MTV Networks owner Sumner Redstone (real name Sumner Rothstein) is very pleased with "Date My Mom". Initially, bigotry is taught. Put children together, they will play, regardless of color, or even language. Teach them to hate, they will hate. These people had bad parenting.

The problem is, many people on this board are still young and impressionable. Threads like this one are teaching them to hate.

When one matures, if they are any way intelligent, they abandon this hatred after seeing how the world really is, or after doing a little bit of reasoning. And if one is intelligent, they will not take up something so obviously wrong, and think it is "cool".

The adult bigot is also insecure, seeking acceptance from others by denigrating different classes of people.

Without conceding all of your points, there are cultural differences between races. Stereotypes exist for a reason- they are not invented from whole cloth. Thousands of years of genetic specialization and adaptation have preceded where we are today, thrown into a mixed jumble where everyone expects equality as a birthright. Well, we should judge each individual we meet on their own merits.

There is no reason for hatred but failing to acknowledge differences among people and cultures is just as ignorant.

I think the story of the Tower of Babel illustrates the folly of thinking we are all the same, and why we are different.

Is what's called racism these days not pointing out differences between races? Or, as you prefer, "celebrating diversity"? You can't celebrate for the good without pointing out the deficiencies as well. To do so would be revisionist.

Black men, as a race and for the most part like big butts, they cannot lie. Is saying that racist?

Right, and as a white guy, I'll put anything on my feet, I had all kinds of breaks growing up in a white as Wonder Bread community, and I would never put 22 inch aluminum rims on a 4X4. And, I was not surprised when I learned my Chinese customer has 7 cameras. But there is a big difference between those statements and the language used in other parts of this thread.

There is a disparity in the number of young black men going to prison, compared to the rest of the population. That is something we need to address as best we can, like Cosby and Obama stressing fatherhood on Father's Day. Like continuing to strive to provide good education to urban youth, and offer role models and decent jobs. And providing education and prevention of single pregnancies. It's not something to use like a club, to insinuate that an entire race of people are inherently inferior.

There is also a difference between an honest dialog, and an attempt to wiggle subtle racism into a conversation. I won't draw a bright line for you, I leave it up to your own conscience.

I watched with home state pride yesterday as the Cincinnati Reds hosted the first Civil Rights game played as a regular season contest. That is a celebration going back to the Underground Railroad safe houses along the river, to Jackie Robinson, to the 1964 uniforms to celebrate the signing of the Civil Rights Act. But there is still much to be done, that was the theme most of the dignitaries seemed to stress in interviews.

I want to be part of the solution, not the problem.

Actually, this is completely untrue. Tolerance is taught. Prejudice is inherent in our nature. There were several landmark studies done in the post WWII era that were replicated (and documented on film) in the 1960's. Children are very sensitive to taking direction from adults about which groups to dislike BUT even if those cues are absent from adults, they will discriminate on their own. In one legendary child psychology experiment, it was impossible to eliminate discrimination no matter how homogeneous the groups were. The children would pick up on obvious things first (hair color, sex, etc) then when all of these things were controlled for and all of the children were the same age, race, hair color, sex, etc., they began to discriminate based on more subtle things like weight, or clothing. Yes there are common, frequent examples of very different children who accept one another, but I don't feel like writing a textbook, so I'll skip why that happens (i.e. what other interpersonal cues supersede race or sex).

Racism is wrong on philosophical, moral, and ethical grounds--NOT because it isn't inherent in our nature. It is a lot like learning to use a toilet. A child that is too young does not have an advanced enough nervous system to control their bowels, so they cannot be toilet trained until a certain age. A child must have BOTH the physical capacity (maturity) and the training to stop shitting in their pants. Racism is a lot like shitting in your pants. A person needs to have the intellectual capacity and the training (even if it is very subtle training) to understand and internalize that racism is wrong and why.

The Mcnair mudshark appears to be a towelhead (name Sahel Kazemi).

It's possible that this was an honor killing. If a male relative of Sahel discovered that she had been having relations with a chocolate-face, he would of had to take care of business in order to restore the family honor.

But a murder/suicide with her as the shooter is more likely. (Mcnair was shot multiple times and she was only shot once.) This makes sense because as a towelhead she must have felt especially ashamed for having become a mudshark. It probably hit her all at once ("what have I done?!").

This week in mudshark news:

The entire nation is outraged that spook players from the NY Jets made sexual remarks to/about a female reporter (Ines Sainz) from Spic TV who looks white. One porch monkey even implied that she wanted to check out their packages in the locker room. At first the pc sports media was confused about what is the correct pc way to respond. Consider that some players are spooks, one is a spic, the reporter dresses like a streetwalker, the reporter might actually be a spic with dyed blonde hair etc etc. After much hand-wringing and consternation, it decided to join the NFL in demanding that the nig players apologize to the slut. I hate to admit that I thought that Coke had more sense than to allow his balls to be caught in a vise over Porn Wiki Leaks. I don't worry about a proxy when posting here because one has to go pretty far around the bend to get sued for defamation or invasion of privacy. Apparently, Coke thought he could play a dangerous game and as Barry said it turned real. People in the industry have the same rights as other folks, and invading their privacy and publicizing confidential information makes one a potential tortfeasor, a payer of damages plus the cost of hiring a lawyer to make sure one doesn't totally get reamed out in court.
