XPT does not have a gaming thread so I am starting one.
This is for you to talk about games and also to recommend or criticize games that you have tried. Also if you have a game review post it here.
I have been PM'ing people here talking about gaming for a while and it's about time to make gaming talk public.
I'll start this off:
The last game I played and really enjoyed was a point-and-click adventure series called "Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People". It is episodic and is up to chapter 4 at this point.
It is a fun game series but is not particularly challenging as far as adventure games go.
Left 4 Dead [XBOX360]: While I only turn on my XBOX360 once every 3-4 months and usually just stick to my PC, last night a few friends harassed me into buying "Left 4 Dead" and playing online with them. It's hands down the best multi-player and "teamwork" experience in any game yet, and I normally hate online games since they're infested with teenagers - it's anything but. You're basically playing cooperatively in a "survival horror" fashion like 28 Weeks Later, playing against an A.I. based "Director" sort of like a dungeon master that keeps throwing new challenges (hordes of zombies) or help at you depending on how well or poorly the team is doing - its a constant struggle of never having quite enough resources, ammo, etc and having to struggle with the odds. Definitely great fun even for casual gamers that hate typical online gaming.
Grand Theft Auto 4 [XBOX360]: This game was like crack for a lot of people about half a year ago when it came out, but still a lot of fun even in casual play.
Yes its better than Team Fortress, and better than Duke Nukem as far as co-op team play goes, mostly because you're in close quarters going room to room like a SWAT team having to clear our baddies, and if you don't stick close together then you can get separated from the group and the whole team inevitably will fall like a table once enough legs go missing - the team can survive if one player of the four dies, but almost never survives if two die. So there's a unique formula of constantly having to have each others' backs in sometimes dark rooms with only a flashlight cone worth of light - makes for an addictive replay factor.
Quote: @GUAPO: Your feelings on "Dead Space" please?
remember the first time you saw jizz get shot on a bitches face? well dead space is just as memorable. plus there is great fun in drop kicking babies ohh and the ending was real bad ass.
my girlfriend and i are playing the new animal crossing, and it's kind of causing this strange friction in our relationship. she's super competitive, about animal crossing. she's obsessed with getting her house paid off before me and meeting all these goals she's set for herself. in animal crossing. all week she's been like, "did you catch a mole cricket yet?" "did you get a silver shovel? i got a silver shovel." i don't know what in the world she's talking about. it's fucking animal crossing. i just want to make my house look like a chess board, maybe do a little fishing. and hope bob or aziz moves into town, so we can hang out.
fable 2 has shown me on a daily basis last week how much of an evil prick i apparently am , im 1/4 through the game and i have a massive set of horns already and level 5 inferno spell...fucking nerd city
command and conquer 3- ill touch this when i get a bigger tv dead space- sweet gory god. awesome
im personally looking forward to the mortal kombat dc universe deal and left 4 dead...ill buy those next week .
also i own a wii. the wii fit is fun times ..gay ..but fun
I actually have a buddy that works at Blizzard (their HQ is about 1/2 mile from my house) but unfortunately he can't get people in on a guest pass now - impressive place.
When I rarely play computer games, it will be Total War: Rome, Civilization III or or Combat Mission 2 (http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=58&Itemid=98) which would give Alex Panzie what passes for a hard on (Tigers, Panthers, T-34s, oh my!).
That said, wouldn't mind recommendations for PC games of the above ilk...
Gunker: you ever try "Company of Heroes"? That continues to be my favorites realtime strategy game series. Games come and go but I always go back to that one.
by the way - why does your avatar look so familiar?
@freestylah: I have played through dreamfall, the longest journey and syberia.
I warn you that Syberia 2 kind of stinks.
Company of Heroes came bundled with my graphics card. I hate RTS games and if anyone wants my copy I will happily give it to them.
If you like turn based strategy games you should check out "Fantasy Wars". There is no micro-management involved, no base building.
And I have a Civilization 4 game going which I have been slowly picking through for months. I'm about to break all of my treaties and carpet bomb the map with nukes. It isn't really a sound strategy but no other nations have declared war on me and I want to see if I can fight everyone at once.
That is an understatement. If you follow the main quest you can finish the game at level 11 (which I did accidentally). And once you are done the game doesn't turn into a sandbox, it just ends. No chance to finish all the side quests, it just ends.
And was I the only person who got angry that there was NO other light source aside from the pip-boy?
Fallout 3 felt more like work than a game. The fights were totally repetitive and having your weapons break is a really corny way to add difficulty to a game, as if ammo starvation wasn't enough.
Also some of the perks seemed flawed. I did not need the "mysterious stranger" to show up when I was fighting easy creatures like rabid dogs.
And I took "cannibalism" which ended up being incredibly lame. It takes a good 30-45 seconds to eat a corpse and when you do you gain only the slightest health increase. Waste of time.
Couldn't they have made a key command to throw grenades or quickly change weapons? I found myself fussing around in my inventory more then I found myself killing lots of dudes.
No game should make you feel like you need to abuse the quick save/load keys.
Quote: nothing could be a bigger letdown than gears of war 2 ending.. biggest joke in gaming history.
GUAPO, if you don't have yourself a copy of Left4Dead already, it's all the XBOX360 hotness right now, like #1 by a mile. I barely played two levels of GoW2 before Left 4 Dead came along and pushed it to the back burner. It's the best buddy co-op experience ever in a game. The first night, three of my buddies and I played, by coincidence we each had a girl sitting next to us at home when we started (you could hear their sighing at various points). A few hours later when we realized how addictive it was, we joked the game was going to be ending relationships everywhere.
If you want to join us, PM me your gamertag. Otherwise grab up to 3 friends and play - I guarantee a good time.
Gunker: Civ 4(especially the new Colonization mode is very neat, it's basically a remake of the old Colonization game), Medieval2: Total War, Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron...
I have picked up Left 4 Dead, GTA 4 and World In Conflict for my spanking new PC, don't know how often i'll get to play them with WOW and all but so far these games are all top notch. Highly recommended to all interested ( at least the pc versions).
I am not having any problems yet with my GTA 4, I had heard that but mine is pretty steady so far. Fallout 3 is to be my next purchase, I better start turning in cans
I would like to strongly recommend the game "Dead Space". I have been playing through it on the PC but I believe it was released for the consoles as well.
If you like survival/horror games check it out. It is filled with great scary jolts and is one of those games you should play in the dark.
I used to love that game. I don't really play video games anymore. I have GTA for PSP but haven't really played it.
Carmageddon was great. If you never had it you can probably get the expansion pack "the Splat Pack" via an abandonware site.
Carmageddon 2 was also quite good and only improved on the first.
The main reason I'm making this post is that if thinking of the game as kindled some nostalgic feelings in you and you go looking for a download. Stay the fuck away from "Carmageddon TDR2000". It might not be a bad game but the emphasis is on completing races rather than racking up points by crashing into stuff.
Just wanted to warn you because as soon as I saw my older post quoted it made me want to play the game.
@Bill: What kind of games is he trying to ask about? I'm totally confused.
EDIT: SOrry, I might be a bit dense are you talking about LCD computer screens? Don't get one if gaming is your thing, their refresh rate is pathetically slow for FPS style games.
At least I think that is what you might be asking about.
@Bill Hicks: the reason I like gamefaqs is that it takes about 2 minutes of looking at their forums to tell whether I would like a game. Especially if it's a multiplayer game.
I totally agree that it's not the only gaming resource that one should consult it's just that with gamefaqs I can quickly get a feel for what all sorts of people get out of a game.
I guess, but I've found that gamefaqs is the absolute lowest common denominator when it comes to gaming. They're slightly better than NeoGAF, but that's not saying much.
And since you like Zero Punctuation and AVGN, I think there may be hope for you.
I'm not too good, but everybody tells me it is better to play real people than computer AI if you want to learn. The problem is that whenever I play people online, if they don't like the way things are going in the game, they'll just log off.
The Witcher -- this is a terrific RPG. It's based on a series of Polish novels. It was released a few years ago then rereleased with the English dialog rerecorded so it actually makes sense now.
Also it is the only RPG I have ever played that has a fun and useful alchemy system. Potions come complete with bizarre side effects and you can coat the blades of your swords in poisonous grease. It's pretty cool.
Also there are characters who are whores. Pretty much everyone in the game is a total bastard so trying to maintain a positive moral bent is pointless. But it is open ended to the point that you can play it how ever you like.
In addition to swords there is fist fighting and you can get into drinking contests.
Anyway, it is a very well done RPG and I strongly recommend it.
Beware if you buy it in Canada you will have to email the makers for a serial number and they don't check their mail on weekends. Some kind of fuck up with having a manual in English and French I believe.
Demigod -- I hate RTS games but for some reason I like this one. It could use a few more game modes but it does what it is seems to be trying to do quite well. Also pretty much everyone online seems to suck (either that or I am innately really good) so don't feel intimidated about being a noob if you try playing it.
I have to stress one thing here. You can actually play as a character who is a gigantic walking castle. No shit. With archers firing from turrets on your body when you are walking around.
Seriously, get a load of this fucking thing.
There are 7 other characters but I've only had the game for a week.
Call of Duty 5: World at War -- This game is totally standard fare for the franchise. It really stands out in multiplayer co-op mode for me. And unlike say, Left4Dead where communication in your team is really important (as well as getting called a nigger and a faggot by teenagers) this game is nice because everyone already knows what is going on.
And no Davis, I do not play chess online. The only times I play chess I pretend to be really serious and set up the game then forfeit after the first few turns because spoiling someone's chess game is more fun than playing actual chess. I could probably get into it if I were in jail. I did however play lots of Battle Chess on my old Macintosh, partly because it was one of very few games I had and also because it was cool to see the rook come to life and smash fuckers.
Yeah, it was repetitive, but it was nice looking. I also thought that the enemies had reasonable AI, although I hated the rapid respawn. The solution for me was that I only played it in short bursts instead of prolonged sessions.
I've had a PS3 for a little while now. It recently broke down and I sent it in to Sony to fix. Paid $150 to do instead of buying a new one for $299. Now I can't get the fucking thing to connect to the internet without freezing. And the fan is now so loud that I can't play movies without it becoming a distraction. Sony says since it is a different problem I'd have to pay a new fee to fix. So basically I should have just bought the new one.
The Saboteur: I am having a blast with it. It has some GTA, some Mercenaries and some Godfather smoothed together. The atmosphere is fun, the guns are fun, your guy gets perks and improves. If you like the games I mentioned this will be fun for you.
^ I saw that last week, but I already purchased the Penumbra series and the other games didn't sound too appealing to me.
Now they've hit $1 million in sales, though, and they're open sourcing most of the games! That is... highly unusual, and IMO very much worth supporting. Since the bundle has been extended for a week, I've pitched in.
Quote: I already had 3/5 games as well but I shot 'em 5 bucks just to see the bunny combat game. I'm not disappointed.
Meh, for a game that was released in 2005, Lugaru looks worse than Quake 3. And the NPCs are wooden. Perhaps mods and/or engine updates might fix those deficiencies, but for now... I really don't like it.
I was pleasantly surprised by Aquaria, though. I wasn't expecting much, but it's fun. The game has elements from LOOM and Metroid, amongst others.
It's far more simplistic than Aquaria. I dunno, it's been ages since I played it. I brought it up because it has a similar aimless and aquatic feeling. I admit I haven't been playing with Aquaria much.
I have been playing Lead & Gold. Team based wild west themed shooter. Highly recommended.
Have a few days off and tired of travelling so I thought I'd get a new game to help waste some time.
After a few hours searching Amazon and surfing the net I couldn't find a single new game I was interested in playing. I decided to buy a new BBQ grill instead. Maybe I'm turning into an old man. I'm scared.
PLayed FF11 today again. Final Fantasy 11. I don't know how vid gamers are fat asses, because for me, time passes so fast I forget everything in reality like omg I'm hungry.
bought it back in 01 and loved.its so damn fun. never bothered playing it online cuz its all deathmatch anyway.havent played it in at least 4 years.think ill install it and have a go.
Nothing was wrong with Quake 3. I played q3test and I purchased the game shortly after it was released. I never got into vanilla Q3, but I played and enjoyed several mods: Urban Terror, True Combat, and Western Quake 3.
I mentioned Q3 because I wouldn't expect a game that was released in 2005 (Lugaru) to look worse than one that came out in 1999 (Q3). I typically don't want to play 3D games with worse graphics than Q3-era tech unless they're particularly noteworthy (e.g. Drakan -- given a choice between a sword-wielding, dragon-riding girl and a bunny with a stick, which one would you choose? ). And Q3 [mods] can still look very nice with trilinear filtering, 16x AF, FSAA, etc.

Because they don't eat or sleep for 20 hours, except for mountaindew or energy drinks, then when the eye strain and mental exhaustion is too much they eat a few pound of junk food before they pass out to get sleep in a sugar/fat/salt coma.
Survival Arts, by Tommy. They are the folks responsible for Guilty Gear and are kind of redeemed for that.
My machine adds insult to injury with it's controller scheme. Just look at it.
Also, it's in an old Taito cabinet so it probably began life as a far superior game.
How old is that game?. I don't care if it's from the 70s they were way too pc with the fighters name. It should have been Kimbo1, Kimbo2, Kimbo3, vs Kunta1, Kunta2,Kunta3..etc..
Video game devolopers need to realize that niggers killing each other isn't real violence to the modern consumer and thus it doesn't need to be rated. It's like a mannequin massacre, who cares?.
Quote: Video game devolopers need to realize that niggers killing each other isn't real violence to the modern consumer and thus it doesn't need to be rated. It's like a mannequin massacre, who cares?
I'd use that as my sig but the Mia Rose quote and yours together are over the character limit.
I'm okay with that.... niggers, violence, mannequins, Mia. They know no bounds and thus rules or limits can't apply. It's slank ass physics and it can't be taught. Thankfully you and I are here to try and teach the fucken dumb ignorant that we call victims and Tony labels "users" otherwise. God bless us and JM Productions.
Conq... I like how they gave Hannah the reverse 69 attack. Kinda hot.. It looks like she eats ass to end her victim.
Tory Lane could be her in the movie.
I'm getting back into Neverwinter Nights again to replay some excellent third-party modules.
After playing pen & paper D&D for the first time a while ago, I have a newfound appreciation for PC games that use the ruleset. This stuff is complicated and proceeds very slowly when it's done manually. There's a certain appeal to it, though.
I went ahead and got "Red Dead Redemption" but I've been too busy at work to give it much attention. My initial thoughts are that it is a very good video game.
Silent Hunter 3: This is an elaborate submarine simulator. All of the subs are German. It's kind of a slow paced game but multiplayer is an absolute blast.
Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific (4): Same deal, controls are more complex and you get American subs.
If you like submarines and are up for a challenge I highly recommend this series.
Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII: This is a flight simulator, you can control it more arcade style or more realistically using the cockpit. I just bought this today so I don't have much to say about it aside from I'm enjoying it.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2: I'm very impressed with the single player and suck terribly at the multiplayer. I say it's a good game but don't bother with the Vietnam expansion pack because it's just multiplayer maps.
Bloody Good Time: This is multiplayer only and was made by the team who made The Ship. If that means nothing to you I would skip this game, but it is a good deal at 5 bucks.
Mount and Blade:Warband: Totally awesome, I have nothing bad to say about this game. I never tried the single player but the multiplayer is amazing.
Star Wars: Jedi Knight Academy: Do you like star wars? You'll like this.
Torchlight: Very similar to diablo but better looking and somehow more charming. Kind of mindless but also fun.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Fucking awesome. If the idea of a first person melee combat game appeals to you this is the game for you.
Precursors: Very Russian, am enjoying it so far but not really sure where it's headed.
Alpha Protocol: Despite having a broken sneaking system it was really fun to play an espionage themed RPG.
Silent Hunter 3: This is an elaborate submarine simulator. All of the subs are German. It's kind of a slow paced game but multiplayer is an absolute blast.
Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific (4): Same deal, controls are more complex and you get American subs.

I totally agree. SH is great. I played SH3 for days. Battlefield 2 was nice as well. I only play single-player, but sounds and graphics were excellent.
Recently, I played Gray Matter. Very nice adventure, excellent graphics and sound, great plot. Recommended.
I am a bit annoyed about that as well but fable was was pretty poorly ported to PC. I am running a good machine and my inventory still took way too long to load once I had amassed a few things.
The only genre I can think of which consoles are okay for are fighting games. Tekken, for example, is like riding a bike. Once you know it, you don't forget. A shame it's exclusively on consoles. And the 360 controller some games in Windows support isn't the best one invented.
Oblivian has some annoying issues. What kind of conversation have you ever had where during the course of it you have to compliment, insult, (and 2 more things I don't recall) the other person.
Other issue I had was the leveling system, it's dumb enough that monsters scale with you so everything is always kind of tough but when you get to a high level your character is pretty much the same as any other high level character.
Fuck angry birds, tetris is where it's at.
I have been getting into Battlefield 3. No need for a review, you probably already know if you like this sort of game.
Been playing: Tomb Raider Anniversary. It's a modern day remake of the first tomb raider and it's a lot of fun but way more difficult than I remember.
Total War: Shogun 2: This game is huge and I have barely scratched the surface. Great co-op haven't messed with the single player.
Recettear: An Item Shop Tale: You run an item shop, including decorations and hire adventurers to take you on dungeon crawls. It's just as corny as it sounds but I like it.
Space Rangers 2: Reboot: This game is crazy, part space trading sim, part space shooter, part RTS and part text adventure. The text adventures involve missions like successfully managing a ski slope or "choose your own adventure" book type stuff. Very bizarre and lots of fun.
Mount & Blade: Warband : Melee combat with bladed weapons and bows and horses. This is as cool as it sounds. Like playing with sticks when you were a kid but nobody gets hurt. They make a version of this game with guns, skip it, bows are more fun.
Still haven't made much of a dent in the new Deus Ex, Fallout NV or Witcher 2.
I keep starting Fallout and making characters who bore me but work well. Next up for me is a melee only bruiser. With high luck and incredibly low intelligence. I realize I'll take a hit on skill points but I don't want to play a smart big dummy.
My biggest issue with Fallout NV, was that it wasn't as wide-open as Fallout 3. Sure you can go anywhere, but they purposely crowded the entire middle section of the map with hordes of Deathclaws so you can't just hike right up to the Vegas Strip. They pretty much force you to take the long, safe route so you may reach the strip at a more appropriate time. I also don't like how they relegated all of the super mutants to a certain area. No more random super mutant encounters. I was also unfortunate enough to buy the game on release and deal with the myriad of bugs and glitches that accompanied it's initial release. I was falling through textures, watching entire bodies of water dissapear, seeing dead people get up and walk around, etc. It made for a worried experience that had me saving more than playing. Still a damn fun game regardless of the faults that I, personally, found in it.
Have fun with Tomb Raider Anniversary. The original Tomb Raider is one of those all time classics that's nigh-impossible to go back to because of the ultra-slow, jagged polygonal world that came with it. The remake is a perfect way to go back to that title and all of the exploration that came with it. They even revamped some of the puzzles to make more sense. I still go back to play through it through it every now and then.

Well if you take into account the full name: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you could easily get a Panzer-style classic of old people rimming each other on a plane.
Totally agree with tomb raider. I just don't get how with all th gaming experience I have had in the last 1 years how the game has become harder for me. My suspicion is that the controls have changed. I don't remember the original having mouse look.
This sounds nit picky but the main reason I like New Vegas over F3 so far is the tweaked stats. No longer is there an Energy Weapon Category and a Guns category. They condensed the two stats into just Guns and it means I can carry a more versatile arsenal.
I get your point, and I agree the option should be there, but to be perfectly honest I DON'T want to fight deathclaws till I am a higher level. Also, if you feel like wandering to the middle of the map at an early level you can fight (and be torn limb by limb) by as many deathclaws as you want. Don't let the linearity of the plot missions keep you from playing as open ended as you feel like.
I made a good sneaker last game and at level 1 I walked from the start to the vegas strip just so I could use it as a fast travel location later on. So I get your point about deathclaws being in the middle, but I don' think you tried to sneak past them.
About SKYRIM, could someone wake me up when it stops looking exactly like oblivion in gameplay videos. Can't help but feeling like that game is more of the same. The monsters and landscape look like Oblivion.
Battlefield 3 (pc version)is a total blast. Strongly recommended. 64 player maps are fun. Word of warning, nothing special happens if you beat single player. No special unlocks for multi-player but the single player campaign is still fun if you aren't ready to get your ass kicked by tons of guys.
It reminds me of Section 8 Prejudice but is much less silly (no jet packs).
And Fartz, I know you are a console person. I can't stress enough how good Potal 2 is. Plus you can play co-op with PC players (hint hint). Hit me up in PM and we can exchange Steam information (if you have the game)
No can do, my friend from the north. My home PC is a fucking Emachines with a mid-level AMD Athlon. I paid like $280 for it at Walmart using gift cards I got from switching to ATT. It's strictly a porn/internet machine. Sucks that we game on different platforms. I'm tired of wiping the floor with my seven-year-old's ass in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.
Tomb Raider is a little tougher. I think that's mostly from games becoming easier and more willing to hold your hand as time goes on. I can honestly say that I was a much more skilled gamer at the age of 14 than I am now in my early 30's That one level that's completely vertical( St. Francis' Folly I think) still pisses me off to this day. I fall to my goddamn death 10-20 times every time I play that level.
You should have seen the stats on NV when they first released the game. There was a bug with one of the companions, where if you give him the Sniper Rifle it gave him like +11 critical multiplier or something ridiculous. I had this guy one-shot killing deathclaws from miles away. They nerfed the shit out of him with the second patch, though. I do own Portal 2, although my sister in law is currrently borrowing it. Are you telling me that I can play portal with you over XBOX live while you play on PC?

Nigga, its buy 2 get 2 free at GameStop. Whenever that deal comes around, hopefully soon.
There's this show. It's hosted by a Brandon budget whore and self-professed hipster douchebag regularly, people of this site. They got an interesting approach to game journalism. If some people writing there loathe PR department press releases regularly, it might be the right direction.
Thanks for the link, PD. I will now be reading that site instead of Bland old GameSpot/Gamefaqs.
On an unrelated note, I really feel as if this Wii-U shit is spelling the beginnning of the end for Nintendo. Their fans are always boasting about how Nin. "marches to the beat of their own drum". Well, I think their comes a time when even your most dedicated groupies get tired of your tunes.
When they released a graphically dated and inferior machine with the Wii, they wowed the critics and analysts by sticking with motion control to lure non-gamers (or casual gamers, as the industry dictates) into the fold and it paid off because it was something new, interesting, and $100-$200 cheaper than Microsoft and Sony's boxes, respectively.
This Wii-U shit is touting "better graphics" HD support and a gimmicky touch screen controller thing. Is it really a good idea to put all of your eggs in one basket when your competitors are gearing to roll out true "next gen" systems? Nintendo should have worked on something that was as powerful as what Micro and Sony are gearing to put out. While Sony and Micro are approaching the next generation, Nintendo is just playing catch-up. As is the rule with gaming, "if the games are fun, the system will succeed". That's the problem though. I pretty much hated the Nintendo Wii (outside of Mario, Zelda, and Metroid) We bought it for the kid, and even he wants an XBOX instead. I honestly think the Wii-U is going to really have to pull out all of the stops to not be a monumental disaster.
Sure thing. I don't read the site mostly, but their comedy presenter show duo is worth a laugh here and there. I had to get used to their style, but actually like it now. Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS sooner than expected to stimulate sales, they mentioned somewhere. Anyway, nothing reeks more of fading fad than their hardware. And Nintendo make the most cash on every system they ever put out, via software and hardware. All console companies are catching up to vastly superior graphical fidelity on the PC and while the new consoles will surely be a kicker, they'll get out-dated really soon. Nvidia and AMD allowed themselves to wait before putting out new graphics hardware. This should change quickly with the new boxes by Microsoft and Sony.
From what i've been hearing, the next-gen leap won't be as drastic as it was in the past. It will be better graphically no doubt, but nothing as stunning as PS1 to PS2.
I hate the 3DS. I fucked around on one in a store and walked away feeling like I just stared at one of those 3D, "picture in picture" things that was popular like 18 years ago. Fucking thing hurt my eyes and my head.
the jump from ps2 to ps3 was alot more than that of 1 to 2.i got one from xmas and it blows 2 out of the water.only have black ops but its lots of fun, especially the zombie levels.
dled mvc2 and am slowly getting better at it since the last fighting game i played was mugen years ago.i dled the platformer bloodrayne because i loved the first 2 games on the ps2,but im not sure if i want the retail because i can only imagine how hard it must be to beat the bosses even though i beat all the demo levels.ill probably go retail on the new magic the gathering eventually, especially since the availabe decks suck shit and i want to make my own blue deck.
The Wii has been out in civilized countries since late 2006. That's over five years eternally-in-community-college boy. Why would you think the Wii Remotes would work for GameCube games? Inform us when you save GameCube games to the Wii's internal memory or a SD card.

I bought the Classic controller for Wii that plugs into Wii remote and I was hoping that it would be compatible with GameCube games.
Picked up Skyrim (PC) and have played all of 5 minutes of it. I seem to have grown tired of the generic medieval fantasy setting taking place in somewhere that vaguely resembles medieval Europe.
Give me an RPG where I don't have to play a hominid. Let me play a dog or a tentacle monster or just something new.
I will attempt to get into the game when insomnia takes hold tonight but for now I am not sure why I got it.
Serious Sam 3: BFE. (No, not boyfriend experience, before first encounter)
Fucking awesome game, 12 player co-op. Looks great. Is absolutely as over the top crazy as you might expect from Serious Sam.
Also picked up the "stadium pack" DLC for Saints Row 3 and am totally unsure of what it actually is so no comment on that.
And I keep revisiting "The Binding of Issac" and "Dungeons of Dreadmore" if anyone wants a cheap rogule like that you can sink a lot of time into both of these are good choices. Though Issac is a bit more casual.
i dont know ;),i played the arade mode today and beat the game with venom, morrigan, and mega man.first time against abyss i made it to his final form with 2 characters but he got me when he just had like maybe 2 or 3 hits left.beat his ass the next time.the analog stick is way more responsive than the d pad,it just takes some time to get used to it.
it was weird that there was no ending though.i did beat it on easy, but still.its as challenging as the settings id have on ps1 fighting games from capcom.i think with no individual endings ill be less inclined to beat it with every character like i have for any fighting game ive had(other than def jam fight for ny).

No, I mean count yourself lucky that your not on 360 where I'd hand you your ass over and over again.
Oh, and Megaman is a cheap, projectile-spamming bitch. I let my kid play as him as I feel it helps the handicap.
Heavy into Skyrim at this point. If you want an especially long RPG check it out. Looking through my steam account I can see people I know having clocked as much as 247 hours on this one. This was the largest I could find but to make a point.
I spent a good six months of my life searching with about 20 others for secrets in shadow of the colossus. You wouldn't believe the theories and research and exploring we did. We had a hard, hard time believing that the Shrine Of Worship was only climbable to a certain point. There had to be a way to the top. Sadly there wasn't. One of the guys started emulating the game and ended up glitching himself up there, and he also found a large dam/bridge structure outside of the map that was some scrapped idea left in by the developers. Here's the thread where we wasted all of our time:
You know Ueda resigned from Sony, right? He's staying on as a contractor for TLG, but he's no longer directly employed by Sony. It's rumored that the TLG is taking so damn long due to this complication. Here's the scuttle:
Following a series of rumors that Ico creator Fumito Ueda has left his position at Sony, Gamasutra can confirm that the esteemed creator is no longer an employee at the company.
In a statement received by Gamasutra on Monday, Sony confirmed that while the creator is no longer working as an employee, he is finishing the upcoming The Last Guardian on a contract basis, and is "committed to completing" the project.
Ueda's sudden departure is particularly significant, as The Last Guardian is still in mid-development, and is very much a product of Ueda's creative influence. In addition, Ueda's pedigree of successful games has placed him among Sony's top developers -- making this move a notable loss for the company.
Since joining Sony in 1997, Ueda has released just two titles: Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. While his catalog might be sparse, both games stand among Sony's most celebrated classics, with modern developers still lauding even the decade-old Ico as one of their primary influences.
Prior to joining Sony, Ueda worked at the now-shuttered WARP, where he worked as an animator on the 1996 sci-fi horror title Enemy Zero for Sega Saturn.
The Last Guardian will be Ueda's first project to be released since Shadow of the Colossus in 2005. First revealed in May 2009, the game has seen numerous delays and has been withheld from the public eye for quite some time, with Gamasutra's most recent update dating back to September of last year.
The news of Ueda's departure follows similar news from last week, when The Last Guardian producer Yoshifusa Hayama announced his decision to leave Sony for social gaming company Bossa Studios.
I fucking loved Shadow Of The Colossus, almost to an obsession. I spent hours roaming those lands, climbing, hawk-humping, Agro-launching, and just taking in the beauty and loneliness of the land and it's ancient architecture. I also loved the slightly open-ended canon, as well. All Ueda really said about the story is that it takes place in the same universe as ICO, and Baby Wander started the curse of the horned children seen in ICO. Speculation is that TLG is a pre-cursor to Shadow, so we may find out more about The Forbidden Lands and how they where settled and abandoned.
been playing dirt 3 since saturday.i cant remember but i think imalmost done with season 2.i dled the xgames asia pack and plan on getting the monte carlo pack.its one of the funnest games ive played.
also dled black ops rezurerrection pack.lots of zombie fun.just wish it included call of the dead and the other zombie level that i dont have.
Picked up Skyrim (PC) and have played all of 5 minutes of it. I seem to have grown tired of the generic medieval fantasy setting taking place in somewhere that vaguely resembles medieval Europe.
I started playing Skyrim on PS3 and was blown away. I loved it. I think part of it was that I was coming at it from exactly the opposite perspective. I was actually LOOKING for a generic medieval fantasy game and I think that this more than hit the mark.
I saw a couple of interviews online from the guys involved in making Skyrim while hunting for hints on the game and it was interesting to note that several developers seemed to claim that many of them are becoming inpatient with manufacturers coming out with the next generation of consoles.
Skyrim is the new Crysis for nerds. On a high-end gaming PC, the fantasy stuff probably looks nothing like its counterpart on consoles with a higher resolution, particularly more and better lighting effects and everything else. The combat looks really weak.
I'm still extremely excited to see what the Creation engine does for Fallout. I'm almost positive they'll save it for the next generation. I think it's safe to say that Half Life won't move on until the next-gen, either. Too bad that consoles dictate the market or you PC fucks could possibly be already playing theses.
Battlefield 3? best games come out on pc because we have the hardware. I am using 16 gigs of ram and can load a whole game into a ram disk. They run great. and also do not need to pay for console net access.
Which kind of card did you buy, cqd; is it some monster or something a bit more reasonable? It is just that what is usually called the "enthusiast" crowd is getting ripped off regularly, looking at the general performance advantage of roughly ten percent the top cards have in comparison to the models just below the top. The difference is about a hundred bucks in money spent.
Using a gtx 480, probably not much better than a 460 but leaps and bounds better than a shitty console.
PC gaming will always better. The whole free internet access is a big plus. Unless you want to pay to play on your xbox or feel like having your account hacked on PSN.
I'm just waiting for Mass Effect 3. Cannot fucking wait.
I'm stoked too, but less so the more I keep playing Mass Effect 2. Everything was great until they sprung the talking geth on me. It's getting kind of campy.
Also Fartz, keep on the lookout for Postal 3 on the console. It get's horrible reviews but it's a blast. I get the sens the reviewers weren't willing to admit they like juvenile humor and wanted to try to be snooty.
It's silly and it's fun and nowhere near as awful as Duke Nukem for never.
Runs on the source engine instead of number 2 which ran on the unreal engine.

ME2 streamlined too much. They got rid of a lot of the free-form exploring and simply created two distinct modes of play: combat and talking. Sorry, but I'm an old school RPG-er. I want to fool around with inventory, spend time selling stuff, out-fitting my guys IN DETAIL , explore every inch of terrain, etc...
Yes the production values were sleek and the combat was good, but it just wasn't the RPG experience I was hoping for. I just missed that ME1 feel.
(P.S. - I fucked the shit out of Ashley in ME1. I had a black shepard too -- OF course!!!)
Tritone, my last build in dragon age was a thief/rogue and the way my party worked sometimes I could get them to do all the boss fights for me. If you haven't replayed it I suggest giving it a shot with a weird build just to see what the game will let you do.
You mean Dragon Age, not Dragon Age 2, right? If so, then trust me, I have played that one to death. My "killer" character was also a thief. He specialized in archery & stealth, but by the end (and by "end" I mean through the expansion, "Awakenings") had also picked up enough dual-wield feats to be pretty scary. With Roses Thorn in one hand and Starfang in the other, he simply owned up-close and then would switch to a bow and nail them from far away with stealth criticals.
I really enjoyed the combat in Dragon Age I, but I actually thought it was better in DA2. It flowed better, had a very "cinematic" feel to it without giving up the tactical options that the first one had. My biggest beef with DA2 was the lack of variety (and often just out-right repetition) of the gameplay areas.
EDIT: Oh, and the length too. DA I just felt -- EPIC, HUGE. I mean, my first play-through took about 100 hours -- no kidding. Dragon Age 2 was long enough, don't get me wrong, but it just didn't have that sweep that that DA1 had.

It's easy to spend 100 hours a week playing video games when you don't have a job.

Tritone, the exploration in ME sucked ballz. I loved the Galaxy Map and the idea of exploring it, but you're telling me you actually enjoyed driving that janky rover thing around, bouncing off walls, and having to hide behind rocks to cheaply finish off impossibly tough larger enemies? The ground combat was fucking silly as well. I felt like I was shooting one of those plastic guns that fire foam balls. I'll even go as far as to say that the game was damn near broken. The story and conversation trees pretty much made that game for me.
Mass Effect 2 fined-tuned the combat to feel more fluid and realistic, and also put up a lot more lines of dialogue for the conversations. It also greatly expands on the mythology of the game's universe, especially if you read the codex and the planet descriptions. The only problem I had with ME2 was the campy tone that started small and gradually picked up until it exploded in my face with a talking geth. Still, I've already put my $60.00 down on ME3 and am excited to see how the whole thing concludes.

Highly recommended.
Well, sometimes, you pay for your reviews in other media, so proof or not, I've no reason to believe games are any different. How can reviewers hate the juvenile humor in Postal, but go on to praise the living hell out of the uber-juvenile humor in Saints Row 3?
I think bigger publishers have the ability to grease the right wheels when it comes to reviews. Alpha Protocol got downright slammed in the fucking reviews, and I keep reading post after post of gamers amoungst various forums of how cool it is and worth the money, despite a few bugs and bad design choices.
Is Valve involved in Postal 3, or did they just license out their engine?
I'm really looking forward to The Witcher 2 finally coming to console. I hear it's taking some strong graphical hits, but is still shaping up nicely, but then again, all the PC reviews I've read for that game had the same sentiments that the story and dialogue drive a somewhat glitchy gameplay experience, so much so that it earned perfect 10 scores for story and dialogue alone.
They just licensed the source engine. Postal 3 is everything you want it to be. I have a badger that I can walk up to people with and it will gnaw their neck opened and the alternate fire makes it piss in their faces...
Witcher 2 isn't all about graphics and is the best RPG I have played in years. You won't be disappointed with it at all.
I didn't care for the streamlining of the inventory system in ME2 and I'm happy that ME3 will basically have a hybrid of the two previous games' systems. I also like the different play modes because there are some times where I just want to blaze through the combat and get some story stuff in and other times where I want to just completely wreck shit and not worry about the story. The latest trailer for the co-op mode looks fantastic...plus, you get to play as a fucking Krogan.
The exploration in ME1 suuuuuuucked. It was basically random planet with 40k-foot mountains and maybe 5k credits to be had. There was very little incentive to explore random planets when you'd just get trinkets that had no bearing on the story whatsoever (aside from the ruins that proved the Protheans visited Cromagnon man). I didn't really enjoy the forced vehicle segments in the DLC for ME2, but Lair of the Shadow Broker more than made up for it.
I think I played through ME1 fifteen times and I've played through ME2 seven times. Never completed a FemShep playthrough.
It's pretty amazing considering it was made by three guys who, based on the strength of the two games they've done, have been hired to do the next installment of the Penny Arcade Adventures RPG.
And yeah, I've got several maxed-out characters in ME2 with different decisions made at key points.
I think I need to adapt the controls to a Tony Hawk game or maybe Tetris.
EDIT: I found this while looking for a pic of a girl with a wiimote up her ass. I can't find any and even resorted to asking the sleazy girls I know but none of them own any video games.
I have also pre-ordered ME3. I bought Steam on a $5 on Steam and liked it, I didn't even play ME. I even downloaded the shitty Kingdoms demo to get more stuff in ME3.
Where did you guys pre-order from? Origin? Best Buy? Digital or hard copy?
Battlefield 3 and FPS will always be better on PC.
My computer is not super great and I am more than satisfied with BF3 on the ps3. It would be cool to have more players most of the time but it might get crowded in RUSH matches. I am still getting used to the ps3 controller, i long for the genesis controller's simplicity :P
Preordered from Walmart since the register monkey at Gamestop fucked up and didn't switch me to the Collector's Edition once it was announced. I would play more games on PC, but none of my friends have game-worthy PCs. I'm one of those sick fucks with a laptop that can run Borderlands at 720p at 90fps.
The demo came out today and if you have BF3 the multiplayer is available. Its more co-op than multi. You and up to three others fend off waves of attackers and a couple of small missions in the middle. the single player is the opening Reaper attack and a mission somewhere else in the game.

All of the Wiimote in ass pics were gay, so we're just going to have to settle for vag inserts until someone gets creative enough to make this happen.

today i plan on beating umvc3 a couple more times and then ill only have ten more endings to see.but i still need to dl jill and shuma but i need to have the verizon dickhead come over first.wifi and condo communities dont go well together.probably order bayonetta this week.looks just as fun as the bloodrayne games were.
Looks awesome, I'll check it out, sometimes I'm more taken with design than gameplay. Particularly because I rarely have the patience to actually complete a game.
For any other PC gamers the Alan Wake port from the XBOX is amazing. Better lighting and graphics but we had to wait a year.
If you want a fresh survival/horror title check it out@30$. It's episodic in it's story telling, game has 6 episodes.
I have been playing a lot of Chantelise:A tale of 2 sisters.
It's a JRPG beat'em up dungeon crawler and it's hard as hell. Strongly recommended at 10$. It helps to have a joystick or a controller though because the keyboard controls are a bit wonky but just take some getting used to.
finished beating umvc3 with every character other than the dlc ones on saturday.id recommend it for anyone that loves capcom games that hasnt picked it up yet.lots of replayability and i havent even played it online yet.
I installed Dungeon Siege on my computer this morning. Apparently I had this game and played it before. I thought I finished a run through it years ago but I must have played it on easy mode or something becasue it is kicking my ass. I've gone and checked some strategy guides and apparently I've just wasted a whole day becasue I've over specialized in combat magic. I've reached the point in the game where I'm picking up party members that I can train up but my combat mage is kick ass so it kills shit too fast for the other members to level up and the mobs are stronger and in groups so I'm getting my ass handed to me.
Yeah, pathetic nerds are actually getting depressed over the dissapointment. Fans have raised over 35,000 to charity to encourage Bioware to re-write it. I haven't seen it yet, so don't spoil it for me, Bill, but I have a feeling I'm not going to like it too much.
ME3 sucked. There was not enough effort t tie in what your character did in the first 2 games, and the fact that you needed to READ A FUCKING COMIC to get filled in between 2 and 3 was terrible.
Seriously? I was wondering what the fuck happened and how 3's scenario came to be.
The biggest complaint that I can lodge with the game so far is the lame squad options. I spent the first twelve hours of the game with two people that I hate (james and Edi) and two people from the first two games that I never used (garrus and liara). Now I have one person that I like (tali). Where's my fucking Krogan?
Oh yeh, and you won't be up to speed unless you BUY lair of the shadowbroker. One of the ME2 DLCs. If you ask me rather than trying to raise money for a new ending they should never ever buy bioware games.
Same gripe I had with dragon age. You shouldn't need to buy DLC to get the story of a game. And Bioware is BAD for this.
I'm walking in the forest in Dragon Age. I see a guy get attacked and I go to search the body/help.
On the screen pops a message telling me I can spend x bioware points to start that quest!!!
Talk about breaking any immersive feelings I was having about the game.
Also I am a PC gamer so dicking around with points is way more of a pain in the ass. It takes me out of the game to a browser to a log in to a store etc.
And point systems are just as insulting as arcade tokens. Sure I can spend them but the business ALREADY has my money even if I don't manage to spend the exact amount of points I purchased.
Fartz, I believe the comic isn't hard to find online, and I think it's free. I just think the fact that fans didn't know about it (you) is really insulting to customers.
Last week I was reading some random online article reviewing computer games. They began discussing online games and reviewed several that failed and compared them to the successful ones.
This was the first time I ever heard of Eve Online.
The article essentially lambasted the game and the author seemed to be astonished that it was at all successful. Strangely, every reason the author used to slam the game made me become more and more interested in checking it out.
It was accused of being unfriendly, not having enough guidance or support, not having any immediate gratification, being overly complicated, having a steep learning curve, encouraging lying, cheating, stealing, and killing other players, and intentionally not policing bad behavior; even of experienced players taking advantage of newbies. Finally, the author of the article quoted one of the game developers as saying, "Eve Online was not designed to appear like a cold, harsh place, it is a cold harsh place." That line sealed it. I never finished the article because I googled the game, downloaded a trial version, and have been playing for about 3 days now.
Every negative comment about the game is true, and I really, really, like it.

There's so many things that I both love and hate about ME3. Remember, there's a publishing model here, so all hate about money grubbing should be lodged toward EA, not Bioware. Gripes about the game itself, should definitely be leveled toward Bioware.
There's an article that I refused to read because of spoilers, but the headline was "ME3 director Casey Hudson responds to fans feelings over ending: "We haven't heard the last of Commander Shepard". The first thing that came to mind was that EA has completely jumped the shark in the realm of robbing fans of their hard earned' after the initial $60.00 purchase. They are going to sell us the ending to a fucking game. Someone please read the article and tell me this isn't true.
I'm giving up on dungeon Siege. Its a good game in most regards but it looks like to really play you have to use the "pause" button and assign jobs to the party and such. I'm not big on turn based video games. The interface is very similar to Diablo but with more intricacy in tactics and character development. I just don't have the patience for the depth this game requires. I think World of Warcraft turned off of huge Time Sinks like this. I've been playing the original StarCraft and Warcraft 2 instead. I can save and stop easily and game play is more satisfying. I might install a first person shooter later if I can find my old Unreal discs or maybe Star Trek Voyager.
EY! I am super excited to hear about your experiences in EVE. A buddy of mine and I have strongly considered it for a while.
Both veterans of space/commerce games but we're still scared of it.
You can download a 14 day free trial from the website, and I think, as a paid member, I can send you a 21 day free trial, but I don't know how to do that yet.
Anyway, believe all the negative reviews, what they say is true. It does have a strong commerce system at its core, but it'll be a long, long, long time before you will be able to have the money and skills to get into that. In the beginning you spend all your time running some often repetitive "quests" for NPCs building skills and trying to build a nest egg of money. Also, since it has the steepest learning curve of any game I have ever played, you mostly spend time in the beginning learning how the game works.
The most interesting thing about it is that how much time you spend playing the game does not at all influence how quickly you gain experience and skills. Skills are trained in real time. If a skill takes 7 days to train, that is a real world week not "in game time", so it doesn't matter if you spend 100 hours over those 7 days online playing the game or don't sign on at all that week. The time you spend online is used to make money and explore the game. It is kinda nice to know that if you have a job and only want to kill a couple of hours on the weekend playing online, some kid who started the same time as you, but who stays up playing 20 hours a day all week long isn't going to be any more advanced than you are.
Of course that is after you've been playing for a couple of weeks, in the beginning skills only take a few minutes to train.
Anyway if you decide to check it out, let me know.
i ordered bayonetta and gta episodes from liberty city this weekend. almost ordered batman arkham city which is marked down to 30 bucks on amazon but i wouldnt be able to use the dlc code due to my internet and i dont want to have to sit on the game until the shit works.
Arkam city looks neat but the combat is super simplistic. Don't bother.
Episodes from liberty... is awesome. If we are talking about the same thing. The motorcycle gang one is great fun but ballad of gay brucie has some incredibly difficult flying missions.
I picked up GTA Vice City yesterday and it is every bit as fun as it was 10 years ago.
yeah i definitely want to play through vice city again.still my fave gta.and yes thats the one(eps from liberty city).i still havent picked up gta vice city stories.
i just found out that cross edge was released for ps3 yesterday.im gonna have to pick that up soon.also been looking forward to lollipop chainsaw which got pushed back to june 12.
GTA: Chinatown Wars is my favorite installment of the series. The storyline and humor made the cut scenes worth watching, and I liked the old skool style graphics - they had a kinda 64 bit look to them. Buying real estate all over Manhattan and engaging in drug trade arbitrage were some nice touches as well.

64 bit "old skool" graphics? You are retarded. Nassim, please stop posting on this board because you are too stupid to do so.
Seriously, the word is "school" not "skool". I want you to die.
If it isn't a computer game it isn't a GTA game. Chinatown Wars? Portable consoles are for pathetic faggots.
Or do you really like playing games with your thumbs?
You know I like you fartz but you are going to have to explain this to me.
I have had a game paused for 51 hours while I have played other games all the while torrenting. What is the appeal of a device that does anything less that everything.
On top of that I am powering 2 monitors and have a video feed to my TV.
I am not trying to brag I just want to know what the appeal is.
And the PSP (the new one looks nice) was a shit system, remember when they tried to make a movie format for it?
You can build a gaming computer for around 3-400 bucks a PSP is 300 bucks. Why bother?
i think they realized that and are trying to do something different with the vita, although i dont know if theyll be sucessful because its basically a psp that you can hook up and play on yout ps3,which you can also do with the psp.
i guess im kind of guilty in away of supporting the psp since vice city stories was a psp title to start with i think.but i loved the atmosphere and feel of vice city.they should definitely have number six take place there since theyre doing san andreas for 5 and did liberty city for four.
You know I like you fartz but you are going to have to explain this to me.

I was just playing along with your post, Conq.
You know, I can't explain the lure of consoles. I can definitely say that the console market is so goddamn strong, that most AAA game release are dictated by it. I know all of the advantages of PC gaming, but when I go to forums like Gamefaqs and Neogaf, one of the most copied and repeated posts is, "I hope this gets released for PC". I have a few PC gamer friends, and everytime I talk about a game, their response is usually, "oh that's not out yet on PC", or "I don't think they're going to release that for PC". These guys spend the majority of their gaming time playing Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress and I don't fault them for it. I've been on consoles since I was seven years old (four if you count playing Intellivision at my Grandma's house), and I still route for the home team, winning or losing. I hold absolutely nothing against gamers. I would love for this thread to be more of a tolerant environment where we can come together as gamers and leave all other board politics and usualy rhetoric aside. I admire any gamer that stays true to form, be it on console or PC.
The trend I have noticed with GTA games anyway is the PC version gets released about a year after the console. My theory is they want to recoup their money before PC gamers pirate the shit out of their games.
And I don't blame them at all.
I have seen some interesting stuff done with he Nintendo DS. One of the neighbor kids had his all hacked up so it could be used as a cell phone.
PSP has sold 71 million world wide. DS has sold 150 million.
The DS sold at a profit, the PSP was a loss leader.
And with a SD card I can play whatever game I want on the DS. And do homebrew apps.
I have a genesis, PS1, 2 SNES consoles and own an arcade cabinet. But with even a simple cheap pc I can play ALL the games for ALL those systems. Even the DS is emulated. I have not checked on PS2 or 3 emulation because it probably involves dicking around with PSN. And why would anyone bother with an XBOX360. You pay for net access through the console. AND you pay for net access to your house. Even if it were 1 dollar a month it's still nickle and diming.
You can stay true to lots of things but that doesn't make them good. I don't admire a loyal Reliant Robin driver for the same reason I don't like other inferior products. If you are going to be loyal to a product pick a superior one.
I built a gaming PC for someone last week for the grand total of nothing (hardware cost). All salvaged and cannibalized hardware. Used a card that has DVI, VGA, and HDMI out so it goes right to his TV.
I guess all I am getting at is why pay more for less?
The only thing in my build that cost any money was a windows 7 serial number.
Now there are other potential expenses if you get serious about this. Gaming mice and keyboards are not free.
It's really just a matter of sticking to what I've always done. Change scares me. There's more to it, though. Honestly, I have trouble sitting down at a PC without whipping my dick out and scouring the web for sweet free porn.
HAHAHA. Yes. I remember when I used to call the computer my "2000 dollar porn and video game machine" And it certainly is good at porn.
I set up a shuttle PC last week for a TV server and I have to crunch some numbers now and figure out how many watts is equal to a degree because my living room has got slightly warmer.
I always wanted to hook up my TV, but I have a feeling I will be dissapointed trying to watch homemade, low quality, "slut wife gets hard anal" videos on a larger hi-def screen.
You might be surprised. Especially if it's possible to get a standard definition TV hooked up relatively crummy resolution video clips look just fine on them. Of course you would need one.
Since you are a porn worker I think maybe I should mention I have a Commodore 64 monitor from 1988 that we used to use in our jack off booths at work.
This was in 2000 and the booths were kind of slap dash put together with salvaged shit. They did work but no amount of money would have convinced me to make a schematic of how they worked. There was crazy shit like fast forward and rewind connected to VCRs/DVD players via long wired and remote controls with the little LED torn out and wired separately.
I can't even begin to do this place justice. I had an office and did stock mostly.
Our shops are more like the movie Clerks. The owners order the shit and give it to us to receive, label, and put out. The owners do all of the managerial work, and the clerks do all of the legwork.
My understanding is that a lot of booths are sort of done on consignment. Like the booth company keeps 5 cents of every quarter to maintain the booths.
Do not envy them doing the managerial work. I had to do that shit and it was a nightmare.
started playing bayonetta and gta eps from liberty tittie on sunday.ive been stuck on bayonetta but thanks to gamefags i found out i just have to do three torture attacks before the time limit is over in that level.
got stuck on lost and damned at the standoff level.killing all the cops from the building is easy enough but once youre out of the building, not so much.lots of fun so far though.theres definitely a lot of similarities between johnny/billys relationship and jax/clay from soa.i have a feeling johnny and billy are gonna end up going after each other towards the end of the game or sooner.
Claude: he reason they exist in Toronto is transients and addicts. Pay 5 bucks get 2 hours of privacy. Makes no sense to you but makes sense to street folk.
I may buy this game in the nest 1-72 hours for $10. Its a pretty cool game and I am huge fan of pre-rendered grapbhics. Its a mix of turn-based and realtime strategy.
I know the mission. The way I beat it was after abandoning the game for a month. The next time I played it I got into "the zone" and beat it first try, with ease.
I can't get the hang of flying the thing. I'm all over the place like Hatchetface in the prison break scene in Crybaby.
@Lou, I actually do very little when I'm medicating. Anything that involves dexterity or concentration, no way. I went to class high one time in college and that hour took half a day.
GTA missions in general are a pain. That you cannot just save the game whenever you want to is ridiculous game design. That and the sometimes quite hard missions coupled with shoddy controls drove me away from two or three titles in the series.
cqd mentioned that his PC system did not cost anything, as he had salvaged parts at hand. And indirectly that his PC cost about two grand. Well, then the notion that it is possible to build a gaming system for around four bennies seems to be a bit relative. An entry-level gaming system is not what he wanted, obviously. What can easily be spent on a high-end gaming system is absolutely outrageous, not even taking into account the premium system vendors add on top, but the hardware people building it themselves have to afford. Consoles are definitely dominant and PC gaming a good heap of dough more currently. Thankfully, the end result, the graphical fidelity a fast PC can offer, has nothing to do with what the console crowd has to deal with.

I know, right? Lot's of driving back to the scene of the crime. I'm old school. On the old pc games, you could save and quit anywhere. My rule for Wolfenstein was to save after almost every room clearing.
It depends on whether you think saving can be abused to make the game easier than it's meant to be or the idea that checkpoints add an "artificial" layer of difficulty.
I think since you bought the game you should be able to save whenever you want. But another part of me sees the potential abuse of that and thinks that you should be limited to max 3 saves a mission/level.
That way you can save if there is something you NEED to do that pause won't cover but it's still difficult.
Also I think games should ramp up the difficulty the more often a player saves. Get good at the game, master the controls. Don't use saving as a workaround for beating a tough mission! Get good at the game.
isn't gta loaded with cheat codes? i'm pretty sure i used to play that one before i got hooked on modern warfare and gears of war(online...the shit talk was epic).
Oh, I totally abused it. No question about that. That was really the point.
They all have cheats, but few have "god modes" anymore. Mmmm...god mode.
I have never played anything on line. I finish the game and off to eBay it goes. I really need to try getting into playing online. I have a cordless headset, for fuck's sake.
dled skullgirls(which was supposed to be out ages ago)and played it a bit.even took it online and got nasty with it.its pretty fun and i love the 2d graphics, not to mention the character design.its definitely reminiscent of the older street figther games playwise.
got stuck on this mission the other day.barry you should book mark this channel since im guessing they have a walkthrough of each mission for every game.when you get eps from liberty city you might find it easier riding the motorcycle effectively in first person pov like me.
in bayonetta news im on chapter 6 out of 12 now.id be closer to beating this already but im playing gta and ive started playing black ops online alot since getting my internet back.before i used to wonder why the same maps are usually voted for.now i know its because alot of the less popular maps suck shit.
i was able to complete this damn mission after more countless fuck ups than i care to remember.its so easy to drive in there and shoot down cops and take the chopper out,but getting back on the fucking bike is the hardest thing in the world because of the fucking controls.
Gotta love Pete. Talking games up to the stratosphere, and then completely under-delivering upon release is that guy's fucking calling card. I never understood his popularity. Check out Tomonobu Itagaki quotes for equal lulz.
'Ninja Gaiden 2 will be so ambitious that when other developer plays it, they will lose motivation and confidence in their games'
"If I made a similar game as a game I made in the company I quit, people would say, 'What an idiot, can't he make anything else?' Well, that is more or less the opinion I have for, uh, that Bayo-something game."
I prefer a car to a bike for any missions that involve a getaway or chasing someone down. One wrong move and your guy is flying through the air.
on this one it worked well because i was able to just mow right through and dodge the cops at the airport.a car wouldve been to easy to make explode with all the bullet fire.shooting cops on the way out didnt help my wanted level either.
dled some demos the other week.most of which were meh.simpsons arcade isnt worth buying.ive played through it as a kid anyway at the arcade.theres also not even that many levels.
sniper elite v2 doesnt seem worth getting either.its supposed to be a sniper game not a third person shooter.too much close range combat for my liking.but making a shot from far away is satisfying.its worth downloading the demo just to try it.
mega man 10.this has a difficulty setting which im guessing the older ones didnt.i found megman 1-10 on one ps2 disc for 10 bucks but im not sure if i should get it.playing through the challenge stages on the demo was fun and just as equally frustrating.your button press is wrong by just a cunt hair and you die.i dont know but it is fun playing as the lil blue bastard.i wish theyd let you download mega man soccer on the ps3.best sports game period.
gotham city impostors.slap new skins on cod, keep the controller layout, make the analog sticks too sensitive so you cant hit stuff half the time(im sure you can adjust it but keep reading)and you have no reason to even playthrough this team fortress wannabe for the alotted 60 mins that are free.i know i stopped after half an hour.save your money and put it towards some new maps for whatever cod you play or towards black ops 2 which comes out in november i believe.
other than that i dled final fantasy tactics last night and since then ive put an hour and a half into it.great strategy fun thats like playing chess with pieces that can do shit.the story is whatever but who gives a shit?
I saw it last night. I hate to say it, but it almost seems too Sci-fi for me. Not that I don't play sci fi games, but for the military genre, I don't want sci fi.
i think they did it like that to compete with the ghost recons and halos of the gaming world.i dont have a 360 and never plan on getting one so i think ill go with bo2.i hope they bring the zombies back too.
Anybody rockin' MW3? It's the only thing that I play, and I do it too much. Gonna prestige again, woot!
Really wanting to. There needs to be more used ones out there. Maybe it'd be an excuse to join Gamefly.
Gamefly sucks serious balls. I found it nearly impossible to get any games that where released in the past six months. Last time I joined up to specifically play three games. The one at the top of my list (Castlevania Lords Of Shadow) had been released five months prior. The second game on my list had been released about six months prior. I always got the game that was fourth or fifth in my que. Gamefly is only good for catching up on shit that's years old that you somehow managed to miss. Otherwise, it fucking sucks, Barry. You're better off researching what games you feel you really want (youtube is a saving grace, as you can actually pull up multiple videos of gameplay) and ordering them used from Amazon where you can get them cheaper than used games at gamestop.
I've actually been doing the YouTube thing. Found a Gears of War in a shop cheap, but I held off until I could see some gameplay. I don't like 3rd person shooters, so I bagged it.
oh fuck.is there a way to turn off other peoples headset chatter on cod?these kids dont go to school for exactly the reason theyre annoying to hear while playing;theyre assholes and people would beat the shit out of them at school.but barry go buy black ops used and get the dlc packages.the campaign is enjoyable and you really get your moneys worth with multiplayer and zombies.
Oh fucken yes! The Napoleonic War DLC is out for Mount & Blade.
250 Player multiplayer!!!!!Q!@!!!!!!!!11111eleven
This is too cool for me to write about here so check their site. It's all javascripted so I can't link directly to the Napoleonic war stuff so click it, it's the box on the left if you're confused.
yeah that might be a problem^.also i dont have a headset either.i added a clan tag to my name yesterday but that didnt do any good.couldnt think of anything so just typed rmbo(rambo).oh well i guess i have to hear these lil idiots and the gay music they like.i checked out all the options and theres nothing for not hearing other peoples headsets.
i dont understand how to do it.im gonna check out some youtube tutorials then.theres no option for it on ps3 i guess.
in other cod news i dled escalation the other day.mustve been playing the george romero level for like an hour but then my team(including me)all died.i really thought we were gonna beat that bastard.they wasted too much time getting on the ship.i went to the ship once to look for some of those weapons but noticed he was coming over so i had to get off.i managed to jump over him while going down the stairs.
oh well ill beat that bastard sooner or later.i dont think ive seen all five of the new mp levels.guess none of them are too popular/dont come up enough in level select.
This is going to be the most dreadful summer of gaming since last summer. It's kind of sad for me. In all reality I'm looking forward to exactly two games in the next nine months. Darksiders 2 in August and Bioshock Infinite next fucking ferbruary. It's to the point where I just ordered a PS2 RPG that I never played. I'm thinking about picking up Dragon's Dogma in a couple of months when the used price drops, but I was never really looking forward to that one. It just looks fun and received much better reviews than I thought it would, being as under the radar, and poorly marketed as it was.
not for me,this summer im looking forward to lollipop chainsaw, batman arkham city game of the year edition, and picking up ssf4 arcade edition.its gonna be a hot summer.
i think i found how to change the party settings.you just hit select.i put it on closed but still heard chattles, then put it on invite only.
Battlefield 2 only had some less than stellar campaign, if that is what you mean, Barry. Basically the multiplayer maps fucked out for the singleplayer. Or so I heard. Battlefield 3 has an actual campaign, is stressful on PC hardware though.
I am aware, just do not like the multiplayer part of the game. It has been done better elsewhere. Not in the current Call Of Duty titles. Definitely not.

Frank I will send along a TV out if you want so you can use your computer to play stuff on your TV and also a a DVI to AGP s you can use it to use it on your monitor if your monitor has a AGP.
I used it as a SLI card and it works just fine. You might want to get a a compressed air thing and blow out the fan.
no thanks on the tv out thing.itd be troublesome to carry the cpu downstairs and i have internet access with the ps3.but whats this dvi to agp?my computer knowledge isnt as deep as most on here.
So you did some SLI setup with a motherboard which has both, an AGP or PCIe slot for main graphics and a PCI slot for a secondary GPU, I assume. Since the card pictured above is an older one, I furtherly assume that you dedicated the processing power of the older GPU to PhysX algorithms. If all that is true, did you notice anything?
I used it as a sli set up, the card is an XFX and it was paired with a BFG. One of the capacitors on the bfg exploded but the XFX card works just fine.
The board was a P5ND2-SLI which was one of the very first SLI boards.
I sold it for about 70 bucks and picked up a P5Q and have had no problems with it.
Hm. I wondered if it makes any difference if I would dedicate either the CPU or a whole modern GPU to PhysX. I still think it is a gimmick most games do not suffer much without.
Oh. Okay. I probably went overboard with my current system, as the stuff I like to play is the new, not nearly optimised and hungry one. Max Payne 3 should be good on it though.
I tried the first one and thought the controls were shitty, did not play it, like the atmosphere and look though. Doom 3 was quite atmospheric as well, despite otherwise being a standard shooter.
Cool. I will send you the card if you can use it. I bought a new graphics card and I don't need the one I can send you. Just make sure it will work. If you look at the link I posted you should have an idea if it it will work. It is is somewhat older but it's better than bad.
I have been playing Braid, a profound meditation on time and loss. It truly has elevated the video game into an art form, not unlike what Watchmen did for the graphic novel.
yeah i saw it on monday i think^.looks interesting, but then i saw the new hitman and i thought well its either or.they seem kind of similar now that they beefed up and simplified hitman at the same time.
totally not rape related and an honest question...
you guys seen this soft-body physics video from CryEngine3?.
That is advanced. Technologically. But hardly a surprise in an engine which in its first iteration was introduced in 2007 to then get constantly improved and altered so that financially important consoles can utilise it. Or parts of it at very low settings, resolution and fidelity. It is the most technologically advanced computer game engine I know of.
Backdoorman. Rethink the connect. So you really want a video game controller that you MUST be standing for it to detect you right? It's no secret why the kinect is popular mostly for parents of little kids who need to burn off energy.
If you are into exercise seriously check out the Wii fit. Sounds dumb but if you do some research you will see some helth benefits for people who make it part of their schedule. No slacking.
so i prestiged recently in black ops and dont see why i would want to reset and start at one.does reaching new prestige levels do anything besides unlock stuff for your gamertag and playercard?ive got all the weapons and perks.what the hell do i want to start over for?
and i tried out the hatchet today.fucking fun shit, but it takes a lil bit to get used to it.i even bank shotted it and got 5000 points on one kill.of course my gay lil neighbor knows how to make the host migrate on purpose so i didnt get to add it to my reel.thanks dickbreath.
Instead of playing something worthy in the Call Of Duty franchise - like Promod LIVE - people actually take all that AI-bomber and red-dot shit. Skill is something else.
Yeah that is the one thing I had questions to my friend about. I need games that don't require a lot leg movement. I can stand and do some limited kicking but not a lot. I wondered about things like batting cage, shooting a basketball, bowling ....etc. I really really miss shooting hoops.
Guys I can move some but it's limited range with my legs. I need to work myself back into better shape. I have a horribly arthritic left ankle that hurts like hell 24/7 and a cemented together right femur that I have to be very careful with.
This mod for Arma 2 and its expansion looks like fun for zombie fans, it seems it is hardcore though, you die and lose your stuff, I get too attached to my gear but I still might try it someday.
I haven't played it Conq but I have decided I like watching them on youtube. I am time constrained with BF3 and Skyrim as my games now but I think I would like to play that in the future.
Here is an Arma 2 role playing server- why these guys chose to play as saracen I have no idea but it is funny

DayZ-
Some humorous gameplay
seems kind of intersting but their zombies dont seem challenging.think ill stick to black ops and get left 4 dead 2 when my comp is powerful enough.
i played the demo of arkham city the other day and now am not so sure about buying the game of the year edition.is the basic combat that basic?just fighting nameless thugs in large groups, trouncing them, then fighting a boss or scanning the scene for evidence?isnt there weapons or shit?
save your time on dirt showdown demo.fucking sucks.just buy number 3 and call it a day.it reminds me of that early first gen playstation game demolition derby but with no progression since then.
so ive been contemplating getting an hdmi cable for my ps3 for sharper gaming and netflix/dvd playing.googled and clicked the first amazon result which was a no go but the guy said this one is the tits http://www.amazon.com/DVI-Gear-HDMI-Cabl...e+HQ+1080P+1.3b every review is five stars and the things only a buck sixty.although one asshole says his stopped working in a matter of months but i think he really didnt like that the cable is imported.could just be propaganda is what im saying.
shit even has free shipping to boot.edit im ordering this.all the more expensive cables are just a rip off according to the reviews.time for a crispier picture.
got the cable today.im assuming it doesnt matter which end is plugged into which thing right?if i get one to go from the cable box to the tv also will that make tv watching sharper?or do i have to upgrade to hd digi cable?i
ll check if the box has an hdmi hole to stick my chris hardwick in.lol that fag got all girly today on aots because candace bailey was spanking him with a crop.im guessing he didnt fuck jenny mccarthy and kara mcnamara on the shows he worked on mtv.hi dickhead.
my ps3 controller is kind of fucked on the left analog stick from fighting games and black ops.thinking about getting one of these since ive been playing ss4 ae for the past few days and my controllers not up to par
or one of these.but the controller might be more cost effective since ive always liked controllers more than arcade sticks.the mlg controller makes it so you can pop out sticks and put them all over the place so you can have your d pad an xbox 360 stick or ps3 stick or normal d pad.you can do the same with the analog stick.it might make more sense since i could also use this controller to play cod.
people get really touchy on the psn when you beat them at ss4ae.just today i got "your a fucking fag"(not a typo) and "keep mashing lil bitch" not only that some other asshole quit right before i was going to beat him even though he has more player points and the other kind.i guess its not fun being ryu and getting beaten by evil ryu so easily.
how do you report these assholes.ive learned through my dickhead neighbors is that its better to tell on people that are little fuckwods because if you dont they make it out like youre the dickhead and get you in trouble.
not all hope is lost though, yesterday someone messaged me just to say good game.the guy was really good too but i gave him a good fight even though i lost.
i played the demo the other day.not sure what to make of it at this point.it seems kind of slow paced and its not always intuitive.when the zombie got me on the floor i didnt know i couldt move the other analog stick.took me a few times of dying on purpose to realize i needed to open the door with the other stick.
how is heavy rain compared to this?because im kind of interested in the game from the same company but has kitty pride and her ghost friends going on adventures.
How is LA Noir? It is unusual for a Rockstar game to completely flop. I am under the impression they poured their development budget into realistic faces and didn't bother making the game play any fun.
Basically a proof of concept for their facial graphics but not much else.
^ If you've ever read a James Ellroy novel it starts off fun, but by the time you get to arson, it feels like a real job and not a game.
I've heard it becomes a bit of a grind but I always get bored of Rockstar games long before the end so that's par for the course for me. I dig the noir references and the dialogue isn't painfully stupid and/or boring like in the rest of RS games (I'm not a fan of cut aways in general).
One thing I'll never understand is why RS makes me waste so much of my time driving around a city, if I wanted to play a car driving game I'd guy a car driving game for fuck's sake.
I get tired of the driving too. I'm playing Gay Tony on GTA 4 and I just take a cab everywhere. My other problem is the partners in the Drug Wars missions will not get out of the way. They're constantly wandering into my field of vision and fire.
i still havent gotten onboard with gay tony yet.i want to finish up with gta eps from liberty city licking on titty before resident evil 6 comes out.shit and then black ops 2 comes out.tits.
i think after eps i might be done with gta.unless they take it back to vice city.if not ill just pick up vice city stories for the ps2 which i need to do anyway.

how is heavy rain compared to this?because im kind of interested in the game from the same company but has kitty pride and her ghost friends going on adventures.
Heavy Rain was fucking awesome. It's not even a game, really. You can't die, you can only fail and effect the end. It's more of an interactive drama. Without the horrible, heavily canadian voice talent, I would have given it a 10 out of 10 just on unique-ness alone.
ive downloaded quite a few forgettable demos in the past weeks.got around to playing journey.its interesting and calming for some reason.only thing is i felt the demo didnt let me walk around and explore enough.hows the full version?
hooked up the ps3 to get my Netflix on about a month ago. I had some free time tonight before dinner so I fired up cod4:mw online. I used to be absolute beast at that and I got my ass handed to me for an hour straight. Of course there's no n00bs now. Just dedicated old school gamers that know every map and every glitch. That game still holds up.
Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare had a competitively played modification called Promod going strong for a few years. Getting your ass handed to you on an unmodded public server or playing this modification, either public or in a closed group - there is no comparison. Knowing every glitch available with a controller is fun, playing with a mouse and keyboard is something else entirely.
Sleeping Dogs - not bad not terrific, does a sandbox game just fine
Torchlight 2 - fucking great
Guild Wars 2 - Really enjoying this when I can set up times with people
Hector - a somewhat vulgar pint and click adventure puzzler
The Walking Dead - not so much a game but cleverly designed interactive fiction
PC version of Dark Souls - it's incredibly difficult and that makes it fun. Consoles suck ass and it was retarded to port this game and basically force you to use a controller.
Ys Origin - JRPG with platforming elements
A Vally Without Wind - defies explanation
I'll pick up Borderlands 2 once I know it's not fucked up. There were a lot of issues in the first one like people duping items or just plan making their own overpowered shit. Not fun.
I'm not a huge borderlands guy, but it's a game I can play with the kid, so I'm there. Frankly, it's too fucking fast-paced and all over the place for me.
If you can arrange a game with several friends it can be loads of fun. And it's simple to the point that anyone can pick it up. If I ever am asked to show someone what an FPS is I use borderlands. Plus shot guns that shoot rockets are cool.
Borderlands 2 is fucking hard. Me and the kid must have died at least 16 times apiece in a very early mission. I fear what the rest of the game may bring.
Zombie Modes Treyarch revealed three modes during its preview event, detailing them in a presentation at the end of a day of multiplayer hands-on. One mode will be instantly recognizable to fans of other Treyarch Call of Duty games.
'Tranzit' adds scale to the original gametype, and acts as the primary mode for zombie players. Rather than be stuck in one location, players are free to explore a "big, giant, expansive world." Calling it "significantly bigger than anything [Treyarch has] ever created," Lamia promises players (playing solo or up to four-players co-op) can traverse on foot or via the bus featured in the zombies world premiere trailer above.
"Because it's open and because there are multiple locations in this world where you can play and where the infestation is, there's different strategies about how you can approach it," he adds. "It's a much bigger world with much more going on." Moving through the world in the bus has tactical advantages, such as speed; however, it isolates players and can become very difficult to escape from. Going it on foot "into the fog" – which players can do by themselves or as part of the group – also has its perks, but puts players in the middle of danger.
To aid in their survival, players can collection pieces of items from throughout the world, putting them together to create "buildables"; including weapons, tools and things to help open new areas of the world. 'Survival' has the "more classic zombies vibe," where zombie aggressors attack the player within a single area from the "expansive" Tranzit world. From its description, things work relatively the same as they have in the past: hole up, fortify your location and venture out to grab bonuses scattered throughout the environment when you find the right moment.
Survival areas are "carved out" of the Tranzit world and customized by Treyarch to act much like dedicated maps. Though Lamia wouldn't give an exact number, he promised players will have access to "multiple areas" in Survival that are designed to be played as a standalone section (solo or as a 4-player co-op experience). These areas feature the same gameplay zombie fans are used to, including magic items and 'Pack-a-Punch' machines.
'Grief' is a new mode, available for up to 8 players that takes the concept of Survival and adds a competitive twist. In this mode, two teams of four players are dropped within the zombie-infested Tranzit world and must outlive the opposing team.
"This is what I've called in the past '4z4,'" Lamia says, detailing a mode that breaks down to a simple descriptor of Humans vs. Humans vs. Zombies. "It's really humans versus zombies, because the zombies don't care what team you're on. They just want human flesh and brains."
In this mode, human players cannot kill each other; however, they can play with the world to put the opposing team in precarious situations – hence the name 'Grief.' The last human team standing wins the match.
Standard elements like blocking passages seem to be on the docket to make the other team's life harder, but Lamia says there are "new mechanics exclusive to this mode" that players can employ to grief the other team with. When pressed for details, Lamia wouldn't budge on what those elements are.
How the Multiplayer Engine Changes Things In Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the zombies mode has been built on the multiplayer engine. In the past, Treyarch has stated this decision allows the developer to do new things it was unable to do in previous iterations. But what does that mean?
Stat tracking: Zombie fans will now have "extensive stats" attached to their monster hunting sessions, much like multiplayer fans have in the competitive part of the game. Leaderboards: Stat tracking transitions into leaderboards for each zombie mode and can be broken down in detailed ways, like ranking based on maps. As an example, Lamia says players could check rankings for Survival in one particular area. "That will have its own leaderboard," Lamia added, mentioning detailed breakdowns for the other modes as well. "A lot more leaderboards, a lot more stats." Improved Matchmaking: Using the multiplayer system, the game will attempt to match players faster than it has in the past. Because stats are tracked, Lamia says, Treyarch "will do [its] best" to match players with similar skill in the zombies mode. Of course, players can jump in and play with friends or anyone of varied skill levels if they choose. Custom Games: "Now we're going to let you create custom games of the modes I just talked about," Lamia says. Creating a custom zombie game, players can make a series of decisions including setting a starting round (with players given points at the beginning of the match that are relative to the round choice, so players can purchase weapons and items to help them survive), you can set challenges like 'Headshots Only' at the beginning of the match or at specific rounds, turn magic items off (no perk machines, no 'Pack-a-Punch,' no mystery boxes). Lamia says there will be a laundry list of tweaks players can make.
Zombie Basics A few additional details we were able to squeeze out of Treyarch regarding Zombies.
The mode features four new playable characters, including a female survivor teased in promotional art for the game. Because the mode has no established narrative, Treyarch won't tell us what era the they envision the survivors living in. The single-player mode in Black Ops 2 shifts between the 1980s and the year 2025, while multiplayer takes place exclusively in the near-future setting. While some weapons in the teaser trailer point to a future timeline, Lamia tells us that its date remains a mystery as it's part of the narrative "fans are creating for the mode." Zombies only exists because of fan feedback. Treyarch loves the mode, but only continues to grow it because of fan demand. There are more zombie types, including new "normal zombies" and new "special zombie" adversaries. There's a lot revolving around the zombie gametype – and all modes, really – that Treyarch won't be revealing. The developer wants to keep some surprises for players when the game launches. Lamia promises plenty of Easter Eggs hidden throughout the Tranzit environment.
conflicting reports now.one site says its coming out on the 13th(a day later than announced) and this one says the 18th of november.
so anyone know if the nuketown maps will be available to dl if you dont pre order?i know jig said they most likely will but id like confirmation.if not then im going to pre order black ops 2.
ive played demos of mw 2 and 3,and they suck shit compared to black ops.i dont know what it is exactly.campaign wise black ops just seems to play better and the ai doesnt have such a fucking hard on for you.the missions are more fun too.lou check out the zombies trailer on the other page.if youre getting back in i say pick up bo2 when it comes out next month.
ps3 for now but I miss the Xbox. Not to be a dick but there's a certain element that inhabits the free ps3 network that I'd prefer to avoid. Plus I so do love the halo.
you can mute everyone in the lobby,so you dont have to hear the dick tasters and miscreants that buy headsets to talk shit to strangers while theyre home at school hours.
who killed pipe dreams post?. I swear that fucken kid puts the spaz in spetsnaz.
and yeah frank we can play as soon as I remember my ps3 handle. It's something to do with "I'llshitonurchest" but with 1s and zeros and 3s that I can't remember. fucken leet speak.
Dishonored is fucking amazing. FUCKING AMAZING. Bioshock meets Thief. I've never played a game where I succeed at something, and restart anyway just to do it differently. There are so many ways to kill/disable people in this game. I could spend hours just doing the same mission. Great story, beautiful environments, lots of optional exploration, and endless replayability. I'm going to be busy with this one for some time to come.
Do any of you XBox guys stream videos thru your machine? I'm having trouble figuring out what buttons on the controller do, and can't find any info on it. Should I just break down and get a separate remote control for running videos?
I do, when I get home I'll turn the system on and check. Holding the controller in my hands it's second nature but I can't think off the top of my head what does what.
nuketown update for anyone picking up black ops 2.its going to be pre order exclusive.just read it on another site.i was kind of thinking this is what happened so i had already decided to pre order it.plus with the free amazon prime trial itll come to my door the day of release.chaka chaka
depending on where you are, BO2 could be in any day from now. I have a couple of shops in AD with my number ready to give me the call when they receive shipment.
bought borderlands 2 on the strength of a couple of my friends recommendation. don't have enough time to play the fucker..
got the call from my guy this afternoon: he received 20 pieces of BO2 (normal and box versions). his pre-sale price discouraged me however, that plus the fact that I won't have time to play until the price goes down (post official release) anyways..
Max Payne 3 was excellent and a welcome stylistic deviation from other parts in the series.
The rest of the campaign of Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 simmered for months and was solid.
Alan Wake was nice until about half of the game, then it nearly got as disappointing as some trash horror flick. Its DLC and Alan Wake's American Nightmare are still untouched. Maybe or maybe never.
Call Of Duty Black Ops II appeared on the net cracked about a day before its official release and its campaign was solid. Several lame moments and mediocre voice acting by the people around its main cast.
just realized i can type in the nuketown 2025 code right now since the internet is up again.
how many endings are there for the campaign?i got the one where menedez survives then kills the olde soldier(woods or whoever the fuck).after that he goes to his sisters grave and lights himself on fire.also after the credits him and woods play with a band(avenged sevenfold im guessing if the ditched the black singer).
so i dled nuketown 2025.what gives i thought it was supposed to be a zombie level too?do you have to unlock more zombie shit by playing?also i hope the tranzit level isnt like the fucking moon level on the first black ops(ie everyone stays in the mud shooting zombies instead of teleporting to the moon.i only played one round of tranzit but my stupid teammates didnt bother getting on the bus when we got swarmed.
I just started playing Far Cry 3 on PS3 and that game is TITS! Some reviewers have described it like Skyrim with guns, open world exploration and missions as a fps. Lots of random stuff too. I watched as some prates that were hunting me walked into a pack of dogs and they started fighting. Npcs driving on the roads can run you over. Really really liking the game.
It is fucking great guys, sometimes whilst creeping around I just watch the shit that goes on in the open world. The bad guys are patrolling and i am trying to figure out how to take them down and a tiger just stalks in and kills them all, they run around screaming and trying to shoot the tiger, it is hilarious. I haven't felt this good about this type of game since GTA 3. There are also a multiplayer(think COD) and coop ( tells a different story than the main story), but I haven't tried them yet.
Here is a video of a black man playing an early portion of the game
The month of march will be a legendary month of gaming at casa de la Fartz.
Metro Last Light: the follow up to the amazing and criminally underated Metro 2033
Tomb Raider (2012): The prequel to all the other games. The story of how Lara became a badass.
And lastly, Bioshock Infinite. The second in the series by Irrational Games, a company that is incapable of making a bad game. Bioshock 2 was developed by 2K Marin, which explains why it kind of sucked, and didn't have the fullness or engaging story that can only come from Irrational:
Or Ken Levine got a meal ticket at some point and it doesn't matter that his shit's just not that awesome. Whoever it was developed by, the first part was a bad console port with shoddy controls and lobotomised AI.

That may explain why I played Bioshock 2 and wondered what all the hype was about. Seemed like a perfectly good FPS but not much more.
I just picked up the Las Vegas extensions for Fallout 2 New Vegas. Addictive stuff.
Completed Journey, one of the best games I've ever played in terms of design, up there with Ico and Shadows of Colossus which are obvious influences. Pretty unique puzzle game essentially, but how many games can you use the word 'meditative' to describe it?
i prestiged in black ops 2 tonight.good thing is in this one you dont have to start from scratch like the first one.i read why and its the exact reason i didnt the first time around.

Get the fuck out of here with that niz-noise. Shoddy controls? Bioshock controlled like a dream, had an amazing immersive setting, and was one of the only games that I've ever played where I didn't see the plot twist coming a mile away. Let me guess, SystemShock 2 sucked too, right?
Man, pipe, I knew you were an elitist of sorts, but this is just ridiculous. Lobotomised AI? Are you fucking serious? I actually tested the AI on that game, wondering just how far I could run and hide from a pissed off Big Daddy and get away with it. I set one on fire, ran through about ten rooms, through a secret tunnel, and hid far away from that angy son of a bitch. I was thinking "No fucking way the AI is advanced enough to trace a route to my position, but sure enough, about four and a half minutes later, BOOM! he busted through a goddamn door and slaughtered me. But to each his own, I guess.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed journey for it's thoughtful approach, tranquil, yet sublety dangerous atmosphere and overall artistic merit, but fuck, talk about over-rated. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but not the amazing, mind-blowing, epic (three hour) experience that the gaming community have circle-jerked it out to be. Shadow of the Colossus on the other hand, was a goddamn masterpiece.
Shoddy controls, yes. PC. Lobotomised AI, yes. The example wasn't such a kicker in any case. System Shock I didn't play; Deus Ex: Human Revolution was good though.

I mainly dug it for the design and actually liked that it could be completed in such a short time (I often lose interest before ever completing a game) but agree that Shadow of the Colossus is much better, although I haven't completed SoC yet.
I think the hype is probably because of just how little creativity goes into most big-time videos games, so when something different comes out everyone pisses their pants and tries to use it as a excuse with their mom for how many hours they've wasted blowing shit up in the past.
cleetus make sure you dl the track packs for dirt 3.theyll add points to your main pro tour storyline.ive had it for a year and still havent dled the car packs but i will eventually.especially since i kind of want to get one of those racing game rigs with the wheel, peddles, and racing bucket.the gymkhana tracks are assloads of fun.

Do yourself a favor, Claude, and finish Sotc. One of my top five favorites of all time. I was obssessed with that game. So much so that I spent a fair amount of time in a SOTC thread, with fellow players, philosophizing and theorizing about possible secrets in the game. We all thought that there would be some possible way to climb the shrine of worship. We didn't understand why you were allowed to climb up to the secret garden, but go no further. One player modded himself higher than the garden, only to find that the textures weren't solid and you just fell through everything. Another poster emulated the game and seriously fucked with the code. An unfinished area of the game was found on the north-eastern portion of the map, the shrine was climbed, and the colossi were unleashed all over the map.
Here's how to get to the garden, if you didn't know
This guy fucked with the game's code so much, he discovered how to control the colossi.
To go with our new tablets I put a new router in. Everything logs on great except the XBox. It'll get on the network for a few minutes then drops. I fucking hate technology.
my phone line had 5 lines attached to it at the old place.the wi fi and cable gradually got worse and worse until they didnt work at all.cable guy came unhooked the leech cables and put some strong ass line in my room.
i beat lollipop chainsaw in the beginning of the week.started playing it last week and with six chapters as well as an intro chapter i beat it in six sittings.its a fun action packed game with a sexy main character(like the bloodrayne games and bayonetta)but has less gun play than the other ones.
its really well written and the comedy is laugh your balls off funny.so funny in fact that some of the jokes told while your fighting will make you laugh a lot while your playing.theres lots of costumes too and two different endings,so multiple playthroughs are expected.if you like nubile zombie hunting cheerleaders and laughs than this is the game for you.you can grab it for 20 bucks on amazon.
I can't find anything that says he wrote Shadows of the Damned. He's done a bunch of stuff, most recently wrote and directed the movie Super, and he's doing some comic book movie coming out next year.
That's because shadows was done by Shinji Mikami and Suda51. I dislike the Gunn guy. I saw him state on "the top 100 video games of all time" that Stars Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic was the game that "started the whole RPG genre for him". I changed the channel.
I'd have to hide it from the kid like porno. Regardless of the age of the slut cheerleader, I'm not exposing my kid to the a game where there's constant mention of "great tits!!" and a boss that yells "fucking slut, cunt, whatever" on the screen, using the words as a weapon.
Friend of mine tapped into that new xbox video game console [?] I could be wrong about that it might be Wii and can watch people in their bedrooms and living rooms. Just wherever the camera is. Holy crap on a cracker.
im retarded because i thought the bops2 dlc was gonna drop for all consoles.i found last night its just for the 360 right now.but im so used to being dissapointed i wasnt really shocked.guess ill have to wait another month.also i read that you can get nuketown zombies if you get a season pass which is 10 bucks cheaper than buying each dlc pack by itself.i think i might do that.
I'm fucking shocked that nobody bought up Vigil Studios and Darksiders. I really enjoyed that series. Word is that Sony Santa Monica and Platinum games are hiring the leftover Vigil employees. Interested to see what Patrice Desiletts Montreal Studio is working on. Heard it's some game called Osiris and has an Egyptian thing going on.
It's featured in the latest Saints Row and was implemented with reduced dildo wiggle simulation physics in the Japanese version of the game, as far as I know.
I never played Saint's 3. I knew that though. Thought it had something to do with THQ closing for somesuch reason. Is Metro Last Light still on path for a March release? I know it was picked up by Koch Media, but haven't heard a fucking thing about whether they're planning on releasing it in March still or not.
I'd assume that, given a certain state of polish the game might have now, it'd be a waste not to release it, but it could make sense not to financially.
You into Metro? The AI was shady, and the game was somewhat linear, but I thought it really brought the atmosphere. Loved the story and the narrative. I'm seriously looking forward to Last Light.
I have trouble getting into FPS shit that lacks story/atmosphere/immersion. Never could get into COD or Crysis. The graphics on 3 do look astounding though with the whold overgrown city thing. From what I understand, Crytek is going F2P pretty soon here, so who knows what the future will hold for the Crysis name. I'm a little pissed that the companies are deciding to release everything in fucking March. Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, Gears Of War: Judgement, Last Light. They bitch about sales, then they decide to go ahead and just release their AAA shit when everyone else is. I'm glad The Last Of Us is slated for May.
The whole story thing's nice when it works, but generally, FPS games don't have much of a story to offer and still work out. Call Of Duty's all special forces hopping across the globe to essentially save the world until next year, when the next one comes out. Crysis 1, Warhead and 2 are gorgeous, but solid shooters, too.
Far Cry 2 and 3 are nothing for me. The open world shit's getting tiresome and if accepted game design consists of letting people wander around to finally get some progress going when the mission starts after some epic stroll, something's becoming irrelevant.
Looking at some episode of The Bonus Round, there was a game designer who worked on at least the second Borderlands; he basically considered Call Of Duty's on-rails game design running through one set piece to the next to be empty. I wanted to try the first Borderlands and while there would've been many, many boxes with some shit'n trinkets laying around in dark corners for sure and it's all very cell-shaded, I didn't actually give enough of a shit to tolerate absolutely atrocious aiming at the very beginning of the game. Clearly some auto-aim console abortion, forgotten and haunting. So while his bullshit fad game was left aside, I played Call Of Duty and had some entertainment.
Borderlands is very frantic and much better enjoyed with a friend. The second one is worth a shot if you have people to play it with. Good gonzo humor and a seemingly neverending barrage of missions, plus millions of guns. There's really nothing to hate.
that guy has mass shooting written all over him.look at that deep seeded teen angst in thats hidden in his expression in the last pic.
anyway, anybody know the official scoop on nuketown zombies map for ps3?i read that it was going to be exclusive to season pass holders.i checked the season pass info a second ago and it says if you buy this dont buy nuketown on its own since youll already have it(yeah no shit).so i can only assume this means nuketown zombies is available to non season pass holders?
also pipe, keep those vids coming.thats a good attack of the show/xplay replacement.
I'm almost done, one Colossus left, this looks great in HD. Love this game, will tackle the rest of Ico next. Haven't noticed any of the jerkiness in the battle scenes I read about, assume that was on the PS2 version. BTW is there any reason there are 16 Collossi, or is it just to ensure a sufficient length of gameplay?
From what I know, there were actually more, but Ueda, being a stickler for details decided that some didn't work and he shaved a few off of the original list. He's a tough designer to work with. He's widely known for sweating the details and isn't afraid to shave months and even years worth of work on a game on a whim. He had a lot more plannded that he scrapped because he didn't feel they fit with physics engine. I mean that asshole's only been working on The Last Guardian for what? 8 years now? Pretty sure that's going to be a PS4 title at this point, which pisses me off because that was the sole reason I bought a PS3. I'm that big of a fan of his games. Sixteenth colossus is a bitch. Good Luck. Don't forget to climb the Temple and explore the world thoroughly when you're done.
Those sketches are cool, thanks. I killed a good hour and half exploring at the start of the game because I had no idea what I was doing, but yep, I'm going to take a good look around now. I'm kinda afraid The Last Guardian is going to be Ueda's Smile or something.
Thanks for the rec, I just got a Steam account and downloaded it for $3.74 on sale. Hotline Miami looks like good, mindless bloody fun. I also just got The Cave on PS3.
Limbo was short which works for me as I don't have 20 hours to commit to a game and the puzzles are a good mix of hard and not-too-hard. Great visuals obviously, I dug it. I'm liking the puzzle platformers more these days than the first person shooters.
The Cave is the one that Ron Gilbert made, right? Where you pair people up and use their unique abilities to progress sort of like the Lost Vikings? Bastion is pretty short. More of an action RPG than a puzzler, but it's all about the atmosphere on that one. Might wanna' try The Unfinished Swan and Papo And Yo while your'e at it.
Papo and Yo is a puzzle platformer where you have this monster friend thing that gets mega pissed off and tries to kill you when it eats poisonous frogs. It's all an analogy for the developer who grew up with an abusive father who beat the shit out of him. The frogs represent alcohol.
The Unfinished Swan is kinda like Journey. More of an arty experience in atmosphere than a game.
Those do look up my alley, thanks. I like a good mix of mellow kid-like games and over-the-top violent games. I think the link for me is psychotronic weirdness. I want to feel that I'm on drugs even if I'm not on drugs.
ive been beating ss4ae with the remaining characters i hadnt beaten it with yet recently.today i beat it with gen and somehow unlocked a secret boss battle after seth.i had no idea there were secret boss battles for some characters.also when i reached chun li(gens rival)they had dialog back and forth while i was playing.ive finished the game with nearly every character and this hasnt happened before.
also anybody else dissapointed with the ps4 controllers?i wish they wouldve added the touch screen and just left the rest of the design like it was.if somethings not broken, dont fix it.
That Sony press conference was quite dissapointing. No pics of the box. No mention of price point. No mention of used games (although Yosida stated afterward that the system will not restrict used games, which is quite ambiguous in that it might just be pushing the responsibility on developers). I know it's where the biz is headed, but I could give two shits about the social interactions of video games. It's such an annoying, immature, repulsive community of people. Single player and couch co-op is where it's at for me.
i just want them to have an option for lobbies to always have no talking if thats what you want, when playing call of duty.most of the time i can mute everyone before a game, but sometimes when you join a game late thats not possible.
i got a message on my ps3 today.it says its from the psn and its thanking me for being a loyal customer or something along those lines.it has an attachment which it says is a ten dollar credit for the psn.it seems legit enough.i dont think theyd let someone make their name psn and theres not a way you can add registered and copyright logos in the keypad.anybody else get one before or recently?i just dont want my system to get hacked.
Consoles were supposed to make gaming easy and bulletproof, take it away from evil things like enough RAM and a keyboard and mouse for those not used to auto-aiming.
Then they essentially became specialised custom PCs and happy bug fixing entered the picture. Heavily marketed titles take upwards of two years to make and it's customary for publishers to force studios to meet some financially relevant release date, in any form. Fixes on day one of the release might patch it up a bit, but it's not exactly Super Mario material in terms of polish mostly.
The next batch of consoles are probably jukeboxes even more than the current one.
I saw some videos, some embedded above and some from the same channels and didn't get what the hardware was supposed to be capable of, then remembered a creepily intelligent hardware design guy present the downloading in parts, which sounded like what the streaming service OnLive tried and failed miserably with, as far as I know.
Pure DLC might not be all that bad, but they wouldn't want to miss out on those simply not going online with their console and definitely try to milk everyone.
With porn it's just a matter whether your display device is worth a shit or you give one about it. Free stuff looks terrible when it's streamed and downloaded clips offer drastically limited choice. If you care about quality, check a Blu-Ray out sometime.
Finished Ico, liked the ending a lot. Now I'm onto Dark Souls, will probably never finish it, tough as hell but a lot of fun so far. I'm with Fartz on the 'gamer community.' DS and Journey have about as much interaction with other players that aren't my friends in RL that I would ever want: silent and tangential. Will pick up The Witness and Bioshock Infinite when they come out.
played the new dlc for about a couple hours.the new multiplayer levels are pretty interesting.the best ones are the snow one and the skatepark.the water one is okay, and the other one is kind of meh.i only played the high rise building a few times, but its pretty fun and has a new dynamic to it due to the building situation.the playable zombie mode is extremely fun even though its only available on one previously available area, the diner.i played it 3 times and actually won the third time with 17 kills and was the last man standing.i hope that they add this mode to other maps in future dlc.just imagine that being available in the high rise level.itd be the tits.
also on the topic of the ps4.its only going to have 8gb,so wtf happens when you run out of room?is there going to be an add on hard drive available.are games only going to be streamable?not having physical copies of games would be gay.

It's funny you mention Journey. When I turned it on for the first time, the other guy in my game ran circles around me and chirped nonstop. I wasn't very surprised that someone still found a way to act like a fucking attention-starved fourteen year old with all of the usual interactions removed. I yanked the Ethernet cable and continued on peacefully by my lonesome. My kid cried at the end of Ico. Did you finish SOTC yet? That's probably one of my favorite endings of all time. Singularity also had a great ending.
I'm playing through the Borderlands 2 DLC and counting down the days until I pick up Tomb Raider, which has received stellar reviews across the board, so far.

Frankie, it is not nice to use the word gay like that. Please use tritone instead. Where are you seeing it's only going to have 8GB for storage? It will have 8GB of RAM, and also a HDD.

The new Tomb Raider is goddamn amazing. I really can't say anything bad about the game. Normally I would complain about the lack of difficulty, but I'm having too much fun to care. This game is everything Uncharted should have been. While playing Uncharted, everytime fifty enemies entered the screen, I would roll my eyes, sigh, and struggle through it. Not the same with Tomb Raider. A swarm of enemies makes me giggle with glee, grab my Bow, put some arrows through faces, then charge in with one of the most satisfying shotguns in gaming history and just start blowing motherfuckers to bits. And don't even get me started on the set-piece moments, which make me feel like I'm in control of one hell of a suspenseful action flick. I'm almost hesitant to play it, simply because I don't want it to end. Kudos to Crystal Dynamics for bringing the fun back into gaming.
That reads promising and should be worth checking out.
As already mentioned, Crysis 3 is hardware meth. On the hardest difficulty, there's actually some fun to be had and the AI and level design seem to work better together than in the three previous titles of the series. With everything dialed up to deluxe and the best anti-aliasing available for Nvidia cards - the game seems to be optimised for AMD cards, judging by the trailer when starting the thing - there simply is nothing better in gaming in terms of graphical detail and post processing opulence. Actually impressive and utilising plenty of hardware generally underused in most other games.

I'm not sure if you'll dig it as much, Pipe. You seem to be more elitist and into a challenge. Tomb Raider is not challenging in the least (maybe on hard difficulty, but the normal difficulty setting has been gravy to me so far), but goddamn is it fun. I do enjoy a challenge, but not if it sucks out the fun. Super Meat Boy is a good example of a game that was excruciatingly challenging, while still being fun. Tomb Raider controls like a dream and just has a very satisfying flow to it. I'm going to be sad when it's all over.
Here's a little bit of what I'm talking about with the set-pieces:
fartler, I don't mind playing a game for the interactive film-like experience Call Of Duty offers and generally set those titles to medium difficulty or one level above.
There's a difference for me between the damage of enemies increasing and the game to be more challenging in a way which is more interesting to play, not just unfairly and boringly adjusted.
Crysis I played some on, well, ridiculously slow hardware compared to hefty console proportions without the corporate parenting to throw at the thing now. It's high-end software porn.
There was some interest in competitive multiplayer shooters a while ago and most AIs don't give you anything to work against once you were able to fuck around with a more cognitive enemy a bit.
It's nice to do the stealthy thing as a convenience and just pass enemies while cloaked while enjoying the urban jungle setting I only saw so far. The other stuff, full-on, can be tricky with multiple attackers.
They clearly polished everything quite nicely and after patch 1.2 on the PC, it seems to run moderately better on at least one type of Nvidia card. Good shit. Budget millions everywhere. And entertaining, so no complaints here.
Tomb Raider looks interesting and since I'll probably never play any Uncharted game due to lack of hardware, the comparison or it allegedly being better should make for a good time. It wasn't exactly missed.
It blows Uncharted out of the water in every facet besides writing. You won't regret it, brother. Just be wary, there's some malfunction going on with some Nvidia thing or another. I'd look into it if I were you.
Nice, then this probably will run better once I'm done with the urban jungle thing.
The screenshots I saw looked promising. All screenshots used as advertising material look promising, but maybe this one wasn't produced to never exceed 720p and can be dialed up and filtered for some proper visuals.
Gears Of War Judgment was kind of a rip. There's hardly any improvements and/or innovations outside of a few new weapons. It's basically just more Gears, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the length combined with the sameness hardly justifies the $60.00 price tag. The campaign lasted about five hours, making it feel more like a Gears 3 DLC pack than a full-fledged title. The kid likes it though, so if he's happy, I'm happy.
Bioshock Infinite is pretty slick so far. I need to get into it a bit more before I decide if the stellar reviews are correct. I like how Ken Levine puts a shiny gloss over simple concepts to make them seem new and revolutionary. Like the chick you escort in the game, Elizabeth, can "take care of herself" in combat which basically means "bullets go right through her".
Jim Sterling is the reviews editor at Destructoid.com and likes to generally make fun of David Cage, another fantasctic loon in the video game industry and probably the second most crazy one after Peter Molyneux.
He did a whole episode of his Jimquisition where he channels the guy and goes on and on about polygons being emotion and more.
If anyone happens to play Crysis 3 on an Nvidia GTX SLI system, there should be a noticeable performance increase after the recent driver update about a week ago. Higher FPS rendered overall, I guess. Nice and unexpected.
panzer youre a sick demented fuck.i hope youre not playing stuff like that.
Maybe someone should make the game like Dungeon Manager/Tycoon, where you have to get victims and them churn them up for profit so you can buy more/better gear and equipment.
i think i mightve beaten the shit out of mr marcus at ssf4ae tonight.after the pounding i gave him he sent me a message in the most niggerish of language;something along the lines of mark ass mashing bitch.im gonna wait till tomorrow to message him back with something underhanded that will anger him but he cant get me kicked off the psn for.the other day i also played against someone with the sn bailey jay.i think it mightve been gias lil buddie(because who would want to pretend to be a trannie?),and lets just say she cant play for shit.joey silvera couldnt have reamed her harder.
Any of you guys play Strategy games like Crusader kings or the total war series? I have been looking into these lately an was wondering about your opinions of these types of games, like what your favorite one is.
Finished Bioshock Infinite. Great game. I can see where all of the extremely favorable reviews come from, as it tells an amazing story that has a level of interest and quality to it that the gaming world hasn't seen in a long time. I'd say the best story told before would have to be 2007's Bioshock, which was also written by Ken Levine. About halfway through the game though, I had sort of an unexpected revelation:
I'm fucking tired of blowing the shit out of people in every game I play.
Seriously. It's not really an issue of morality, as much as an issue of repetativeness. Every single game I play involves brutally slaughtering endless roomfuls of people, as I advance a story. It's just getting old.
I picked up Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch to combat this burnt-out feeling. A long, drawn out, Japanese RPG by Level 5 and Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away). It's like playing a goddamn cartoon and I'm loving it. No shotguns and assault rifles. No blood spurting. No hiding behind cover to wait for victims to come out. Just lighthearted questing and storytelling.
Any X Box 360 folks had problems with the USB ports not recognizing a flash drive? I ran like 4 or 5 of them last nite, but the only drive it sees is the one that's configured to hold saved games.
DLCs ruined it. America's charity-based, crowd-sourcing culture trends catalyzed it.
Publishers setting a release date for unfinished, mostly boring games with a big budget, in most cases already conceived as a series, didn't ruin the video game industry; they made it more like Hollywood's kindergarten.
Watch Dogs and others want to be Harry Potter, Twilight, The Hunger Games, Divergent and such.
Primitive current console hardware will lead to primitive graphics. Interactivity alleviates, but only slightly.
It's not that the PC hardware available today is much better; it's just a bit better. Nvidia and AMD don't need to push anything unnecessary and it'll stay that way.
Independent games are artificially limited in size and complexity, leading to mostly boring attempts at originality without looking good.

My prime concerns when buying a game is cheap price and value [hours of gameplay]

Alex, how many video games do you play? Compose a quick list.
World of Tanks pretty much. And sometimes I play Xbox 360 or PS2 once a month when I visit my grandparents.
I play games on my cellphone more frequently: Tiny Tower, MyVegas Slots, Coin Dozer, Cookie Dozer and Prize Claw.
Got these games about 2 weeks ago and traded Medal of Honor for Street Fighter 4 couple of days later [and added a couple of dollars for the price difference], since I relized that I already have Medal of Honor, limited edition. They did not have the Super Street Fighter 4 in stock, that I would've preferred.
Do you pretend like you're Putin's Commies secretly invading the Ukraine? Does the game have a feature where the dumbass separatists can shoot down a civilian airplane, and draw international condemnation to their cause?

started playing resident evil 6 today.i started off with leons mission and beat the first chapter.after playing ive decided im turning off the agents(other players online joining in as zombies while you play) and i might be a jew and turn unlimited ammo on.why is ada wongs mission unlocked when you start already?i thought you had to beat it with everyone else first.guess they updated that for little twinks.
i had to google it but found this: Virgin Interactive re-published some of its once-successful video games in "white label" editions, sometimes containing bonuses or newer patches of the game.
