XPT Rep in Fantasy Baseball League

XPT Rep in Fantasy Baseball League - 03/17/07 12:48 PM

OK, I've got a couple of free fantasy baseball leagues almost filled with industry people, board participants, porn journalists and the like....

Who wants to represent XPT in the league. Bragging rights (if such things exist in this sort of situation) are up for grabs.

Email me at Rog@rogreviews.com if you want to play.

Thanks

Count me in. It would be better if we had our own XPT league, vut the only true baseball fans around here are Willie, yourself and me.

Cool...shoot me an email so I can send you the invite.

I agree, an XPT league would be great. ESPN has gone free so it's pretty simple. If you set one up, I'd love to play.

See if you can get some of the porn girls to step up. I had no luck. (Wait, no luck with porn chicks.....that's a trend in my life.)

Chico, make sure you sign up for the "No Time for Love" league, Team Willie D wants to delight in kicking your ass around the field every day.
Team Willie D --> <-- Team Chico and/or the Chicago Scrubs.

Hey Chico, make sure you force the fat kids at ADT to play catcher - they hate that!

While I'm not a fantasy league player [I CANNOT root for anyone in the NL w/o an NY on their hats], I am a devout baseball fan and likely the equal of any here.

Besides being a season ticket holder for a 13-year span, I have LITERALLY 100s of 1000s of cards, numerous yearbooks, scorecards, schedules, Hall of Fame 1st day covers, Nolan Ryan memorabilia, etc.

I have a baseball signed by dozen+ negro league stars sent to me personally by Double-Duty Radcliffe, whom I befriended.

I know all the World Series going ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE 1ST to when Providence swept the NY Mets 5-0 in 1884!!!!!

I actually upgraded my ticket plan over the winter of 1995 WHILE THEY WERE ON STRIKE!

So you were at Shea when Yadi Molina shut the Mets fans the fuck up in the ninth inning last year?

I'm sure he was there the day that Billy Wagner walked the Yankees around the bases. All kidding aside, baseball fantasy is a six month 7 day a week gig. I used to do it all the time. I don't know if I ever will again.

Exactly, it's a black hole of commitment with 162 games a year. Yikes.

I vote for Fatman. It's a perfect gig for the permanently disabled. He can even whack off on his second monitor while the stats are updating.

Excuse me. Hi. Just Curious: Didn't the Mets debut during the 1962 season? Or did they just go on a loooong hiatus between 1885-1961. Moxie, You're a new Yorker, right? Whaddaya think?

Aside from that glaring error, I'd agree with Grizz. Fatman would be perfect for the job. But isn't he going to Europe until after opening day?

There was a team called the New York Metropolitans that played for the American Association and then was bought out by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1887.

I plan to have fun with it. If I miss a few days to hangovers, I'll just attribute it to player apathy. Hell, it worked for Dusty Baker for a few years. I didn't name my team the "Windsocks" for nothin'.

Looks like the Cardinals' season is already starting to go downhill.

I'm surprised that this would happen to such a wussy PETA asshole like LaRussa.

The Windsocks - 03/28/07 10:18 PM

The Windsocks have finished the draft and things are a bit mixed. I still don't understand how the league manager (Rog) myteriously got the first pick in the draft.

Starting lineup:
C: Pudge Rodriguez
1B: Lance Berkman
2B: Jeff Kent
SS: Omar Vizquel/Rafael Furcal platoon
3B: Brandon Inge
OF: Raul Ibanez, Vlady Guerrero, Torii Hunter
Pitchers: John Garland, Barry Zito, Mark Buehrle, Bronson Arroyo, Justin Verlander, Chris Capuano, Derek Lowe, Kevin Millwood & Andy Pettitte.

Omar Vizquel is still alive? wow.

Re: The Windsocks - 03/28/07 10:21 PM

Rog is offering to trade Albert Pujols but he's sounding very Rosenhaus'ish about what he wants in return.

Next question!

Re: The Windsocks - 03/29/07 01:02 PM

Did you see Millwood's last box score?

K. Millwood (L, 0-1) 4.2 innings, 12 hits, 10 runs, 9 earned, 2 BB, 3 Ks, 1 HR, and ERA of 17.36

Of course, that was against San Diego.

Good thing clubhouse morale is not a factor...

Also interesting that all of the pitchers have potential to be really good...or really bad...
Posted by: Willie D

Re: The Windsocks - 03/30/07 09:28 PM

Yeah, Millwood can be a tool at times, but it was the last pick. I didn't want Steve Trachsel because...well, he used to be a Cub. Every other pitcher had an ERA over 4.5 and/or went through the Diamondbacks organization = suckage.

I did pick up Craig Biggio and David Eckstein post-draft. I hate the Asstrolls, but I know they ride the Redbirds' jock every August. And in a pinch, I can sign So Taguchi.
