A little Melancholy

A little Melancholy - 02/08/05 08:31 PM

This goes out to my number one east coast un-named star, rounding out the top ten and soon to hit Arab's Cage Alumni with a bullet:

Quote:

You don’t bring me flowers
You don’t sing me love songs
You hardly talk to me anymore
When you come thru the door
At the end of the day

I remember when
You couldn’t wait to love me
Used to hate to leave me
Now after lovin’ me late at night
When it’s good for you
And you’re feelin’ alright
Well you just roll over
And turn out the light
And you don’t bring me flowers anymore

It used to be so natural
To talk about forever
But used to be’s don’t count anymore
They just lay on the floor
’til we sweep them away

And baby, I remember
All the things you taught me
I learned how to laugh
And I learned how to cry
Well I leared how to love
Even learned how to lie
You’d think I could learn
How to tell you goodbye
’cause you don’t bring me flowers anymore

Re: A little Melancholy - 02/10/05 03:19 AM

fuck all that. it's all about Shaun Cassidy.

"comon everybody get down get with it
comon everybody get down get with it
comon everybody get down...
That's Rock n Roll"

aww. fuck. I'm free from Lionel Ritchie and now on to cheezy 70's pop.

One of my first jobs was @ a music store, so i am well versed in that genre. as a matter of fact i often footnote "you light up my life"

awwwww....that's good shit.

I need to find a porn harlot to do "don't go breakin my heart" @ PSK

...no longshot, not you.

I've been listening to Harry Nillson's "The Point" a lot lately. My LP is scratched a little but still sounds great on "think about your troubles". The trials of Oblio & Arrow have a lot to offer.

No worries, I caught the Monkees bug on Nickelodeon in the late 80's, wore them out and moved on to the Beatles and smoking pot. Mike Nesmith kinda turned out weird though, eh? When Christian Scientists go wrong.

[quote Mike Nesmith kinda turned out weird though, eh? When Christian Scientists go wrong.

SAM was seeling watches from a suitcae on a TV tray
Lucy & ramona, were trying to figure out if he was gay
The three of them were standing, staring at each other
When a light came down and shined in their eyes
And blew each others cover
An ancient code was branded, and each of them was handed
A ticket to their kingdom, cuz' they saw their brother SUNSET SAM

"Lucy & Ramona...and Sunset Sam...
People on the street..trying to find their plan
People on the street, just looking for the man
Lucy & Ramona...and their brother Sunset Sam."

Re: A little Melancholy - 02/14/05 03:34 AM

Quote:

Standin there on Main Street across from Mr. Blues
My faded leather jacket my weathered brogan shoes
A chill north wind was blowin but the Spring was comin on
As I wondered to myself just how long I had been gone

So I strolled across ol Main Street walked down a flight of stairs
Stepped into a hall and saw all my friends were there
A neon sign was flashing welcome come on in
It feels so good feeling good again

My favorite band was playin' an Otis Redding song
And when they sang the chorus everybody sang along
Dan and Margarita were swayin side by side
I heard they were divorcing but I guess they let it slide

I wished I had some money with which to buy a round
I wished I cashed my paycheck before I came to town
But I reached into my pocket and found three twenties and a ten
It feels so good feelin good again

There was old man Perkins sittin on his stool
Watchin Butch and Jimmy John talkin' loud and playin pool
The boys from Silver City were standin by the fire
Singin like they thought they were the Tabernacle choir

And I wanted you to see them all I wished that you were there
I looked across the room and saw you standing on the stair
And when I caught your eye I saw you break into a grin
It feels so good feelin good again

I wanted you to see them all I wished that you were there
I looked across the room and saw you standing on the stair
And when I caught your eye I saw you break into a grin
It feels so good feelin good again
It feels so good feelin good again

What's up Floofin? I haven't posted song lyrics in a long time.

Are you a K. State fan? If so get ready for the statistically dominant Vic Koening "bend but don't win" defense. Third and long....no problem- Koening will have his boys in a soft zone.

No, the Iowa Hawkeyes will be playing South Carolina in the Outback Bowl. Go Hawks!

Just remember that Koenning is co-defensive coordinator at K-State with Chris Cosh who came from Maryland. Koenning seems to know what he is doing. I'm not sure about Cosh. Who knows exactly how their schemes will mesh together. Hiring Jerry Van Dyke as defensive coordinator would be a step up from the Tim Tisebar error/era.
