'No Country For Old Men' - 03/23/08 02:36 PM

This ambitious film by the Jewish Coen brothers posits and extremely bleak worldview ands in further displays pistoning cylinders as its major symbalic code of conduct. At one point the story's everyman says to his wife (who works at Walmart and lives in a trailer park) "Stop bitching or I'm goinng to screw you." At another point a European hitmann at the behest of large business stops a hapless commuter on a desolate road with a stolenn police car. The man genuinle asks "what's it all about" the heartless hitman replies "Please get out of the car and hold still" after which he matter of factededly puts an innocent looking pneumatic gun to this poor soul's forehead and causes a metal cylinder to be quickly pistion into and out of his sjull and brain, causing instant, bizarre aand uncannily correct death. This is pornography of the highest order. The Coenns are smart Jewish men from the desolation of Minnesote and jknow full well as Bob zimmerman before thaem that genres and labels are goldmines innto the collective unconcious that are crying out to be dissassembeled and put back into pastterns and manners that give us all nightmares and fanntasies that we feel we have been thinking aboyt dreaming on our backpages the whole time through. I give this sickening motion picture a B+.

In other words, it drips with contempt for the goyim. But all Coen brother movies are like that. That's no reason to not like them (the brothers or the movie).

Windsock's best posting of 2008!

Of course, there's only three to choose from, and they all sprang forth today. On Easter.

Now that I recently watched this movie, I realize Windy's specifics only dealt with the first 15 minutes of the film...

...didn't mention [EDIT] getting killed off camera in a matter-of-fact way...
