It's an obvious question, but does he any real impact on the industry? discuss. If it became a paysite would if be worth paying for?

Luke Ford put a stop to the Marc Wallice HIV+ outbreak. He didn't uncover the truth or anything like that - someone who knew told him. But Luke is the one that took the ball and made so much noise and wouldn't shut up that Patrick Collins finally had to do something. Had Luke not kept at it I'm not sure when Wallice would have been stopped (and how large the toll would have been).

But, that was a long time ago. He won't get a pay site now. There are too many free alternatives.

I'm not really pro or anti-Luke Ford, but on the face of it what he basically does is pull relevant and interesting stories off other sites. This is similar to what Matt Drudge does, but Luke crosses the like into copyright infringment by cut-n-pasting the whole story, or large portions. Morally I think he tries to get around it by putting links, maybe some people even gave him permission to do it from their sites, I don't know.

Now, do I mind that he does that? Not at all. I always liked having that wide range of opinions and stories from a variety of sources all at one place.

And like Drudge, Luke does chase down stories, does interviews when needed, etc. And since he puts links, people can drill down if they want, so for the most part everybody wins.

As far as pay for it? Why would you since most of his content is pulled directly from another source? Even the original content is largely pulled from marginal sources. Hey, I like Rob Spallone too, but come on.

I was surprized to read that he suffered from Chronic fatique syndrome for like 6 years. That must be a drag, no pun intended....I'm chronically fatiqued by all the bad porn out there....

I heard today that Luke went back on hiatus over not being paid once again.
Since he occassionally hangs around here under his Duke Floored name, maybe you can ask him this question,as well as what's going on with his newly begun hiatus.

A scriptwriter couldn't create Luke Ford. An Australian convert to Judaism (and Orthodox Judaism) writing about porn, and with an inate ability to piss pompous people off.

Take, for instance, when he was thrown off a set for reading a payscale from an open binder. Porno people claimed it was unprofessional. A few months later, I was bored in an airport and picked up a copy of "All the President's Men," about Watergate. And there's Woodward and Bernstein, sitting in a prosecutor's office, reading documents carelessly left on desks and getting yelled at for it.

Out of all the sites out there, Luke's definitely broken more stories. Even in his current, distracted state of mind and with a toe in the mainstream, he's a better way to kill time than the other sites (none of it is important enough to pay for.)
