I was actually referencing an arcade game from the old coin-operated video game era: Death Race 2000-wiki
Death Race 2000 was a driver gave where you drove over pedestrians who would let out a little yelp and turn into gravestones with crosses. It was discontinued after do-gooder parents pitched a fit. I doubt it was even licensed by the film's owners.

I did love the movie though.
