Fuck, in 1992, when I first started working on the West coast, my company had a pager/text message function on every IBM mainframe workstation in every Division Office from San Diego, to L.A. through SF/Bay area all the way up to Seattle, whereby anyone could send me beeps or limited text messages (and I could do the same when I logged in) no matter where I was in the field, allowing me to be in touch with customers (i.e. "BUYERS") the minute they called the office or submitted quotes or bids, thus eliminating the whole Voicemail tag game, or the "Where in the Fuck is my Price & Spec Fax, Carmen Sandiego, hmm?" game....in 1992, the boys in Silicon Valley Lurved the fact that Burg and his "Marketing-based Packaging Specialists" seemed to be everywhere and online well before online became a buzzword or a everyday concept....unlike his doltish competitors who were "selling boxes"...
