"Deep Throat" Director Passes Away - 10/28/08 05:41 AM
http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movies/10/28/director.obit.ap/index.htmlNow here's my question: did Deep Throat REALLY launch the pr0n industry as we know it today? Since I was born in 75 I have no perspective on this. Thoughts on this?

I was just a kid when it came out, but I remember it was something of a sensation. My mother told me she knew a couple of people talking about how weird it was going into a movie house filled with people watching a porn movie, because most had never seen one much less seen one (only perverts went to porn movies houses in those days)
...and they left the lights on during the whole thing which added to the creepiness!!

I was 18 when it came out. I grew up near the city of Binghamton, NY..the only city in the state of NY to NOT declare it illegal at one point or another.

Gerry Damiano was more than a one trick pony -- he made a lot of great, boundary pushing porn back in the day. The Satisfiers of Alpha Blue and Beyond Your Wildest Dreams were two of his hotter titles. And the Devil in Miss Jones was probably his best acted film.
