To clarify, this vote is in your local court.
The decision will be kicked up to state Appeals, then maybe state Supreme, and after a few years, kicked up to the Federal level (Appellate, than Supreme).
This initial vote is not about "free speech" but rather "obscenity."

Well, on the obscenity count I'd have to say "not guilty". But, if given a chance to punish Max for producing seriously shitty and unwatchable porn I might in reality take the opportunity to find him guilty of something - anything.

Really, here in Dayton, I think Max would get a hung jury. Larry Flynt started here, but they've shut down most of the adult theatres because of homophobia. Maybe he would be convicted in more rural parts of Ohio, or Cincinnati. I would find it, I guess, offensive play acting, but not obscene. I'm easily offended. But Max has some artistic merit, and I do pick up after my dog, etc. so I don't know about the gross out part. And, as the author of the FLOP "Piss ain't sex(y)" I don't know if Max really satisfies my prurient interest, I guess not, because I have chosen not to buy any of his stuff.
A friend loaned me a video of nuclear detonations, they are beautiful and spectacular. I don't know what that means, but there it is.
It is wrong to say something can not be listened to or viewed in a certain community. Community standards stop at my front door, I decide what goes and what doesn't inside my own home, as long as I am not harming others.
It's a real crap shoot, isn't it? That's part of what blows about this, ya'll that make this stuff are rolling the dice with your liberty. When I see a cop on the freeway, I know what the speed limit is, but ya'll have limited guidance. Something needs to be done here, so we can freely enjoy this material.
