I made my rounds on the phone to hear all the rumors, gossip and stories running around the convention floor today. It's the first day of the AEE convention in Vegas, and it's trade only. ( Which means only in the biz people, no fans)
FIRST THE RUMORS & GOSSIP....
KSEX SOLD !
KSEX.com has been purchased by Steven Brown, owner of Vavoom. They are setting up meetings with all the PJ's that work there, and some other stars that they would like to be PJ's. Former owner Jon Belinke will remain a silent minority shareholder. Joe Brandi, previous part owner & publicist left on bad terms with Belinke and says he took all the advertisers with him. Brandi says he will be starting his own internet station.
JANINE IS UN-RETIRING TO APPEAR IN THE PIRATES 2 MOVIE
TRADE ONLY BADGES GIVEN TO FANS
Several fans were on the floor today with trade badges although their only link to the industry was spending lots of money in strip clubs. Wonder who gave them the badges...
JENNA JAMESON NOT AT THE CONVENTION
Jenna is not at the convention this year because Playboy didn't want to pay for the CJ booth. They are not investing any more money in ClubJenna until they see some return on their investment.
HEIDI PIKE UPDATE-
Heidi Pike Johnson, former AVN writer, former porn movie director, was out in Chicago trying to get a job for herself and her boyfriend managing a porn store by being pushy with an adult video store owner. She didn't get the job.

She sent out a bulletin yesterday entitled "Regretfully", I replied back weren't you the one on HBO who claimed "You're soooooooooooo fuckin rich", I asked her why didn't she just pay for a booth herself and sponsor her own shit. I dont think she replied to me yet.

when i went in '06, i got this package deal off the avn website... one of the "perks" was that it came with a trade-only badge. could explain the peeps you saw yesterday.

I've been to the show twice and both times was able to get industry badges for myself and a friend. It really doesn't take a genius to figure out that as long as you say you are in the biz you can register with avn and buy a pass. No one ever does the business license or other reference checks that they threaten you with. Second time it came as part of a package with Rose Travel. Either way, from my experience the only real difference between fan and industry days on the show floor was the amount of traffic.
And I only scammed it because I wanted to avoid the sword fight on fans days and it costs a lot less for industry.

I've worked full time as a writer in the adult industry for the last ten years. I get paid, I have a company car and health insurance. I would consider that a real job, I even like it, which is more then I can say for most people. I don't need to kiss anyone's ass. I happen to like Ace very much. He is a friend of mine, and he works for me doing freelance jobs. Any other rude stupid statements you would like to make? What do you do for a living? I have no idea. I don't track them by distributor/studio or even director. But, the name "Evil Angel", unlike say "New Sensations" or "Vivid", doesn't ring a bell.

A 'company car' is commonly used to keep those people that are considered harmful for the company as far away from the office building as possible. It has proven to be reasonably effective. I guess it works for Cindi's employer.
