Looking for any info - 09/12/07 05:40 PM

Hello everyone, i'm into making my own amature videos and I was wondering if I could get some tips. I'm getting ready to invest into the JVC GZ-HD7 and I was wondering if any of you famous directors out there could give me some info on how you judge lighting angles or know of a site where I could learn some of the basic's

thanks again for the read

I'd highly recommend against the JVC. They lull you into thinking it's great just because it's a triple chip HD. The chips themselves are actually not even HD, the sensors are quite a bit smaller in fact. It does not live up to the hype.
Also there is just about no third party editing software that can read the files and even if you try and convert it'll fuck your work flow up and waste a lot of your time. I even called JVC and all they kept saying was to use the supplied software, fuck that. If you want a Hard Drive recorder then go with the Sony's. Better picture with even the single CMOS. Although tape is probably easiest for compatibility with any editing suite. In which case in the same price range (cheaper actually, and far better) would be the Canon HV-20.
Just my 2 cents.
